Hillary looks like an enemy of Obama. What would you do in Obama's shoes, keep her where she was? She would be bitter and stew over the loss and would do everything to cause trouble. She could set up all kinds of roadblocks in congress. He offered her a short leash. Now she does NOT answer to constituents or party politics she answers to Obama. She jumped at the lime light of the being the Secretary of State.
Also, who cares what this sexist foreigner thinks about American politics? Let him go back and criticize the royal family who lives off the taxpayers in England.
Considering that the DNC allowed Barack Obama to run sexist campaigns against Hillary Clinton and Sara Palin, and the age-ist card against John McCain, I'm thrilled to see that they gave Hillary least SOMETHING after playing the race card against her husband and smearing Bill as a racist (thank God for Geraldine Ferraro standing up for the truth).
Hillary is over-qualified for this position and in comparison to Obama who has less experience than Sara Palin. He needs her desperately.
You may have all forgotten that Hillary is replacing Condolezza Rice. FFS, the bar has been set pretty low. The selection of most anyone qualified would likely be an improvement and meet Obama's standard for "change."
And now it looks as though this is really going to happen. Oh well, SoS, big whoop. Obama isn't selecting her as his VP. Its a step in the wrong direction you may argue, but its a baby step.
I really can't imagine anyone better prepared for a cabinet position dealing with foreign powers than a prominent former first lady. Sowing good will between charitable causes, the U.S. and allies is in, like, their freakin' job description.
Send her abroad, NATO loves her (despite hesitation on Bosnia).

Ah, I'm glad I voted Nader, even more so if Hilary gets the position. I've lost a huge amount of respect for Obama.

What's the missing verb?

Some talking head said a few days ago, "better she's inside the tent peeing out, than outside the tent peeing in." I'd guess it's related to that.

I think the question hitch is asking is should he forget the past or dwell on it.
