LEGENDARY!! i saw the whole gig pressed against the front barrier, the guy who announced the gig was actually a BRT radio host, Matthias, who had a hardrock and metal show on belgian national radio;after Brugge in 83' and Poperinge(84' with Metallica, Mercyful fate, Twisted sister, Motorhead,!!) this was the last heavy sound cos som hardcore fans robbed several graves in the Poperinge town cemetary, i think the mayor had enough of this, lol; Security on this festival were som drunk motorgang

You know what I mean. The best were Anthrax, Megadeth and Slayer. Old Metallica was awesome too. I like that metal the best. Anthrax was my first concert back in 1993. Good times back then.

Awesome, congrats. And yeah, that old school metal is the best. I think that Randy from Lamb Of God said it best. All the good metal came out during the Reagan and Bush Sr. years. The golden age of metal.

They were considered death metal by some people back then (eg by guys from Unleashed), along with Possessed.

Slayer were pretty much one of the main bands that layed the early foundation for death metal on the thrash metal side. The band Possessed were actually the band that served as the main link from the thrash metal genre to the death metal genre with Death being the front door.

Yes, you're totally right. I just wanted to say that though Slayer is thrash, they were considered death by some people, and Possessed which is strongly considered death metal today (as the pioneers of the genre) were actually a brutal thrash band in the 80s. It kinda changed throughout the years.
