Whatever. WTF do you morons do in your spare time? F'in APOCOLYPTIC! But you already knew that. The benchmark has been carved into the flesh of virgins.
Alas, the world must now end as your God's blessings have been realized and have borne their fruit. All who taste the bounty of your offering will transcend into the new Era contentedly for now we know what cannot be known.
Symphony X is probably my overall favorite metal band. They are the band I go to when I tell people why they SHOULD like metal. This song is so epic. I want to do an animated video of this song some day (with the band's permission).
@Cheetahcabra JEE MAN I had the same idea in my mind. Would that be killer or what! This song is SO epic, shame that some people can't seem to realize it that way. So wicked. I always get chills at 1:22 with that ascending keyboard line in the background.
@Cheetahcabra no I haven't done anything like that. Not really my thing but it would be really cool if someone did that, I always envision everything when I listen to this track.
@billprokofiev Far too much modulation, compressed, very harsh. I really don't like that kind of tone at all. It's the 80s all over again. Like I said jokingly, you can get comically close to that with a Zoom 505II, which is a truly horrid sounding box. I much prefer Romeo's tone from the latest release.
I would find Symphony X so much more listenable without Michael Romeo's guitar tone. It sounds like a practice amp in a tin can to me, and his lead tones, though I like them a bit more, are ludicrously overprocessed. Just too much modulation. He could probably replace his entire stage rig with my old Zoom 505. :P
that's because romeo recorded this albun with a POD. (or that was said)
I love the agresivve and mind blowing tone of "paradise lost" album and the crude and dry sound of " the Divine wings of tragedy"
but for me this tone is perfect for this album (V). because the orchestral passages are jerarquized over the band. I think that's for the way this album was composed.

he uses tube amps from ENGl now. I like the guitar sound on this album,is very naturly and not such overproduced

Cool - That can only be a good thing. ENGL's aren't quite my style, but they are brilliant for anything metal. Great chunk...
