Proto-bulgarians dosnt mean nececary turkic or an other ethnic group.Its a fact that todays bulgarians are diferent ethnicaly from thouse of asian origin 1300 years ago ;thus the term proto-bulgarians was introdused.Totays bulgarians are mix of proto-bulgars (turks,iranic,slavic or whatever),slavs and the aftohonical local maditaranian popultaion.
