I myself used to practice Witch Craft. I am now a Christian. Witches are real. But Hollywood makes them something so far fetched that no one believes the power they wield. I have heard of revivals that have started when a Witch left a town. This was in Africa. Other places like Mexico and Guatemala have also had similar things happen. The English version of the Bible does say, "I shall not suffer a witch to live." However the original Hebrew term used there means poisoner not witch or pagan or any other religion in particulor. Also on the grounds of a woman preacher. I never said that he claimed to kill a witch. I was making fun of the idiot Christians that still believe witchcraft to be evil even though It does not say that in the ORIGINAL HEBREW TEXT. While it does say it in the English text it is because of King James who did not receive the fortune that he wanted from a witch and wrote the KJV to say that witches and pagans are evil.

I come from a village in Alaska, and we are not that far removed from shamanism. My dad and uncle can still recall when men came into the village, claiming they had found gold. The old people made medicine and made them forget. There are still people who practice the old ways because that is all they know. They do not accept Modern American Christianity because it has become over run with money-changers. I do not accept this either but I believe that christianity still counts.

Bible readers should know a bit about history.
The term "witch" was used to describe those that practiced healing and herbalists. (Modern day doctors, nurses and pharmacists.) Most "witches" were women so they were easy targets to blame when anything went wrong.
The word witch was also used to describe anyone that practiced a religion different than your own. Thus, then as now, there are witches everywhere. .

The early Christian church redefined the word witch as negative. The Old Testament command "suffer a poisoner not to live" was edited by King James to read ..."witch not to live". Witch burnings were in vogue(and profitable)
so all it took was a wee bit of word magic to
