Architects and Bring Me The Horizon are sibling bands. I religiously listen to both of them, they are quite different, but they sound similar. No one is ripping off anyone, and if anyone was, it would be Archi's ripping off BMTH, but that most definitely isn't the case.
Especially if you mean vocal wise too; I'm pretty sure that style of vocals have been around since Refused in the 90s / early 2000s.
Killswitch (while they are amazing) have pretty generic riffs. AILD have the same too

@Endzeit000 hmmmm mate megadeth, trivium and iron maiden are far more popular and "mainstream" than bmth, i have never heard bmth on the radio but i fairly regularly hear Maiden and Megadeth (not to say their bad bands by the way, they are awesome) which makes them more "mainstream" than bmth. but in all honesty who hates on a band for how mainstream they are? if you like the sound, the band is good, if you dont like the sound the band is bad (only in your opinion). my two cents :)

ok...i like bmth a lot. even tho they changed styles a lil bit over the years i think theyr still a good band. but everytime i look up a video of them playin live olis vocals are jus horrible. he doesnt nail his high screams and it jus makes me not wanna see them live. 1st off everyone says "o hes tired" ok then they shud play the songs with a lot of high screams 1st wen hes fresh. 2nd i kno screamings hard but if tim lambesis of As I Lay Dying can do it than i refuse 2 cut oli any slack. sorry

And have you notice their albums don't really sell much, that's because their music sucks
The only reason they got a Kerrang Award is because the band has image. It's a shame, but now in days image will take you a long way. Kids [mostly girls] like Oliver Sykes, just because of that they give them awards. BMTH doesn't have any talent whatsoever

@Endzeit000 i think studio wise oli's vocals r great, live not so much, but still, id be interested to see you get up on stage and play for 2 hours straight without getting tired or running out of breath on a few notes. And the drummer and the guitarists all have talent, as does oli, and if they dont, theyve worked pretty fuckin hard to get where they are now. Even if u hate them u still know them? Any attention is good attention for bands.

@MrCampkill you use in combination when you scream, your vocal chords but MAINLY your false chords. false are not considered screaming from your throat. atleast not in my opinion. you only use your throat a little if you're doing it right.
