man, when the nWo came back and was still going strong when Bischoff came back, think about the storylines that could have been. Hall, Nash and Xpac running into Eric backstage giving weird looks. Eric re-joining them. so many crazy things could have happened, but too bad we'll never know =[
@AdoublesLdouble i would have preferred a quick death compared to the long drawn out horrible death it got from 2003 up through today....vince created something great with austin, rock, foley, hbk, undertaker, kane, hhh, the corporation, ministry, union, dx....it was all so good, and now its shit
@bmillsistheman I don't think it's shit because of McMahon though. The problem is the damn writers don't know their asses from holes in the ground, plus Vince also has sponsers and stockholders to answer to. I think personally, the worst thing that happened was when WWE became a publically traded company. In my opinion, it hurt the product more than it helped it. Plus the world today is way to fucking politically correct.
@AdoublesLdouble vince does need people like heyman back to help with storylines and promos...but he also lacks pure talent these days...most of the "stars" today have no real charisma and mic skills...then they are neutered by the PG crap...not a good combo
@bmillsistheman PG has nothing to do with promos, it's the BAD WRITING and over scripting the promos is what's making it bad. It was PG in the Hogan era too, yet most of the promos were good, unlike today's promos. A TV rating has nothing to do with it
@AdoublesLdouble the attitude era, which was the greatest and far and away most successful era of wrestling succeeded largely due to wwf pushing the envelope, putting things on TV that other shows did not dare show or display...this is not possible with today's wwe, largely due to their strict reliance to political correctness and poor marketing...wwe would rather appeal to a 10 year old kid these days, as opposed to people 15-25, which is what they did during the attitude era
@bmillsistheman continued (stupid damn comment limit): can you really name anything on TV today, other than maybe The Office, that isn't total crap? Stupid "reality" shows like Jersey Shore have bombarded the airwaves, and most hour long dramas today are mediocre at best. Gone are the days when he had good shows on TV like Seinfeld
@AdoublesLdouble lol Seinfeld, The Office? Are you sure you're even watching quality TV? These shows have nothing on The Wire, Breaking Bad, Carnivale, The Shield, Spooks. There used to be lots of amazing shit on TV, Seinfeld and The Office just make the cut for "good" and nothing more.
WWF/E could have made a lot more money had they given the fans 'what they want', like they claim to do. They gave the fans WECW vs WWF/E, watered down. They killed the nWo, they brought back ECW, and strangled everything that made it special. WWF/E gives VINCE what he wants, everyone else can go fuck themelves
@warriorofwrestlingv3 because all "YOU" want is for the divas to come out half naked and Austin to stun the boss and swell beer every week, That's not wrestling. wtf is wecw vs wwf/e? they didnt "kill" the nWo, fans refused to boo Hogan, Hall was a drunk, and nash was always injured, they brought ECW back and made it a WRESTLING show, not some drunken bingo hall shit
Ric Flair, a storyline co-owner? What a joke! Sounds pathetic! He probably didn't even have enough money to have a piece of the piebecause he's been having money problems since the 90's.
Are you supposed to admit failure like this on your own show. This was part of the beginning of the end of this company (I don't care how the cable ratings are and how much titan is worth). They need a decent competitor really bad.
this was the first raw i watched even though i never saw the wwf in the attidude era ive seen most raws all pay per views so this was a sad moment but also a good one :)
@jnapoli07 No he's just going to keep it in his hands it looks like.. It would've been nice if he would have done something interesting with it though
@footballplayer897 agreed i read something somewhere that when vice first acquired WCW he tried to keep it on as a separate program just under his control but no station wanted to touch it.
"The Death of WCW" highlights this as the terrible footnote of the dismal invasion angle (even if it was several months after it finished). It states that Vince and Bischoff (after they hugged) might as well have burned millions of dollars in a bin on the stage, the failure of the opportunity to have Bischoff vs McMahon.
@JOHNNYCFC18 yea he was realy funny in the nineties he was brutal he once called goldust a faggot on a live promo and use to do proper jokes one liners and purposly cheer for the heel in the match that every1 hated
@VerifiedNiceGuy It's better off that he's a face right now. Having two heel announcers would sound awkward, and Cole's not the one to turn face, obviously. The fans like Lawler and hate Cole.
@gazz12345a silly gazz no one remembers anything before the john cena era began...i fucking hate this pg era so goddamn much. Well no let me rephrase that i fucking hate the parents vince is catering to so goddamn much there we go.
@gazz12345a I noticed the exact same thing! I was like....hey....didn't Vince say that was the last time we were going to hear that theme? The irony of a PG rating is that they treat their audience like little kids....bah!
hey psycho , John cena could beat up Hogan, hall, nash, steiner, bagwell, stevie ray, curt henning, konnan, miss elizabeth, macho man, scott norton, giant, great muta, vk wallstreet, vincent, the disciple, dennis rodman, bret hart, brian adams, eric bischoff, ted dibiase, and syxx in a gaunlet match in today's WWE PG era
@stonecold337 I think the Rock was at his best around 2000, but he definitely had an era and it starts with WM17, probably ends around WM19. When he returned to face Austin and the Alliance is when I knew. By that time Austins injuries had drastically diminished his performance, although he was probably funniest after his 2001 heel run. WHAT?
@StephenAlexWalker did you even register what I said? Read it again. First of all, thats your opinion, don't act like its fact.
I said I THINK(!) Rock WAS at his best around that time (AGREEING with you!), but 2001-2003 is when Rock was the #1 guy. Rock ends alliance, beats Hogan, etc...that was Rocks time and that's all I was trying to say... that he had an era and it was after the Austin era (98-2000 was Austin's era and Rock was 2nd fiddle til 2001)...so your comment is not even valid.
@DUBtheTIGER Rock wasn't second fiddle to Austin, the only reason it is Austin's era not The Rocks is because The Rock was a heel and Austin was face all the eras are named after faces. 2002-2003 I would say HHH and Lesner were the top guys not The Rock (esp since he wasn't there for the latter half on 2002 or 2003) as for 2001 Angle was the top guy in the company.
@StephenAlexWalker the Rock was only a heel for about 6 months during that time though. I simply think that the Rock's greatest accolades came in the time I refer to, with the exception of the Rock n Sock Connection. But I agree with some of what you said. Tho unfortunately Angle never really had an era. Always loved Kurt but he was never THE guy like a Lesnar/Austin/Hogan. But Rock was over like rover when his "suspension" was lifted for his 2001 return. SS01, WM18, etc. Just my opinion
@Psycho1386 I sorta agree. For me, it's nothing personal against John. He does what he's told to do, and he works very hard at it. But hopefully things change in WWE soon.
@juan1189 Austin was the WWF champion for most of 2001. He lost his last WWF title in December 2001 and left WWF mid 2002. The Rock's era was the exact same time as Austin's but was overshadowed by it. The Rock's era could be said to be most of 2000 when Austin was out until October. Rock also left mid 2002. He came back early 2003 but made sporadic appearances until he left in 2004.
I would say we currently have the PG era in WWE and the asshole era in TNA. But with TNA's habit of screwing things up the asshole era is probably now over or at least in limbo. But having said this TNA management are assholes so yes it is the asshole era there haha!

@Psycho1386 I sorta agree. For me, it's nothing personal against John. He does what he's told to do, and he works very hard at it. But hopefully things change in WWE soon.

The worst day in the history of WWE was when the "Austin 3:16" era started.

all these gay ass bitches in the crowd that booed the TRUE ERAS
Bruno to Hart Era can suck dick. People like them are the reasons why WWF was in the shitter when WCW was beatting its ass in 1996-1998.

@tonshaad1230 wait 1997-2000 was the Austin era wasn't it?? than the ROck era 2000-2003 and then John Cena?
