  • I bought the 刘德海's recording with Boston SO conducted by Seiji Osawa in 1979 in HK. It was a Philips label. The other side we have 刘诗昆 playing Liszt's 1st. It was the first time I ever came to know about this exquisite Pipa Concerto. I'm so happy now I can even watch the 1964 animation here on YT. Perhaps it was the recording, the Pipa playing in the LP was more pronounced & crisp. Then again he is a man, thus stronger strokes I think.
