It was some other form of energy before the big bang, the origin of our current universe, but to call that a God and to think that takes interest into us as individuals is quite delusional.
If the universe is complicated and inexplicable to the point that people say the best explanation for it existence is a God, you have to take a step back and logically break that situation down... SO... An unbelievable complicated all knowing all powerful perfect being that has always been and never had a point of creation who created the universe and made man in his image seems more easy to swallow than simply saying I DON"T KNOW? That is science...we just don't know what created everything.

I agree in principle with the whole respect others as long as they respect me, but I have a hard time with that when it comes to religion, simply for the fact that it is built into religions beforehand not to like people like me or of other religions. It is for this reason there is so much unrest, oppression, and violence in the middle east. People who believe in religion have a sense of arrogance about them that they somehow have the right answers and anyone different is on the wrong path.

My suspicion is that they were military aircraft designed to do those speeds at that altitude.
