In answer to @XtrimallthewayO AND @jackefc4, the song was originally released in 1987, 23 years ago and, since then, I think its safe to say that Shane (Pogues frontman) has enjoyed some pretty hardcore rock n roll indulgences, so naturally his voice has been intensely weathered as a result. Still, doesn't detract from the fact that this is by leaps and bounds the greatest Christmas song ever recorded.

I loved the Pogues COLEMARTINST123 but this video is just sad. . I love Fairy Tale and I agree that christmas is not christmas without it.. I never think it pays to knock people down for their failings and so I prefer to remember the brilliance of the songs and the music. For me, this is one of the best songs ever written.
