Saw them on Monday 3/7/11 (Boston). Incredible show at an intimate venue filled to capacity. Everyone was dancing and singing along -- those of us who were fans from the good 80s days and new fans from this generation. OMD still sounds the same as in those days. AWESOME TALENT. This song and the whole 80's synth electro era was absolutely epic.I was so fortunate to have been in my mid teens in the early 80's when the likes of Visage, Yazoo, Depeche Mode, Kraftwerk etc were leading the way and dragging us out of the conventional and musically staid 1970's. Long live Moog Emulaters, Linn Machines and any other form of synthetic sound production. To quote a Yazoo track from their album Upstairs at Erics " Goodbye Seventies" !!!

@cyberdyne11 The main melody of this song is played on a Mellotron. Unmistakably a Mellotron - that haunting strings sound (probably enhanced with loads of reverb). And that instrument was popular in the 60's - 70's.

Ironically, this track was probably the last time the Mellotron was used, until a resurgence in its popularity happened with the Britpop era in the mid 90's.
