My six year old told his teacher in pre-k last year about molecules and she was dumb founded, she said to me that in all if Her years teaching she has never met a five year old so smart. Thanks to you PBS!!!!! He has learned so much!!!
Sid's dad, Mort, is Jewish. They did an episode where they talked about having celebrated Kwanzaa and Hannakuh as kids. And, of course, we can take it from there.
I think it's worth a little chuckle, because of how they (PBS, the makers of the show, whomever) were kinda slick about it. But, I'm glad they did put an interracial family in an animated series. That's something that does commonly exist in real life, but hasn't been represented at all in animation. Well, not that I know of.
I work all day with kids just like the ones in Sid's class and I think this show is great! The acting may be a *little* overdone, but overall they've done a really good job creating believable characters and capturing the dynamic of a classroom when everything goes right. (Of course, I'm a little jealous of Susie because she has a huge room and a tiny class, but that's another story ;)).
hahaha i love how all the people leaving comments about how much they hate this show have horrible spelling. i guess there's something to be said for educational tv after all...
@K1ndaB0red parents look for shows like this on youtube for their kids especially if they can't get the signal on their own TV. I don't understand people who are old enough posting negative stuff on things intended for children not adults. I appreciate that this is being moderated. Thank you PBS for the wonderful service you provide.
Me and my bro love watching this. Not becuase it's kool or anything, 'cause it's not, but because we like making fun of them. The way how their always hyper and stuff just cracks us up.
Me and my bro love watching this show! Not becuase it's kool or anything, 'cause it's not really, but because we like making fun of them. The way how their always hyper and stuff just cracks us up.
Sid the Science kid is fantastic for young kids. PBS is doing an excellent job in programming. My 2 yr old and my 5 yr old both love this cartoon and my 5 yr old learns a lot from it. The 2yr old loves to dance to it.
As you can see, this is a ill disaster. Do you really think young children behave in this matter? Do you want our youngsters to grow up with this so called "positive" influence? Absolutly NOT!
this is meant for kids younger than Nye's audience. teaching scientific methodology to young kids is incredibly important and this show is very necessary. also learn the difference between the homonyms where and were, it will make you look like less of an ass in the future.
Perfect. You took the words right out of my mouth. I can't help but feel a little sad when I look at the comments from people putting down this show. Clearly, shows like Sid and the other fine programs on PBS are needed now more than ever.

These shows are very educational, but the voices are kind of saracastic to be honest.

Its being moderated because some parents make their children playlists on youtube so they can only watch what the parents are comfortable with.

why is this comment stream being moderated?
K1ndaB0red 2 years ago
Because the clips are targeted at children.
PBS 2 years ago
True, but should children be on YouTube? I'm also pretty sure that YouTube has an age-restriction.
K1ndaB0red 2 years ago 2
True -- but these clips attract younger viewers nonetheless, so we take special care with the kinds of comments that appear here.
