I cant thank you enough for presenting your experience with us who need to hear and accept the fact that we are not alone. It is so great!
Hey! I'm 23 and have been overweight MOST of my life , not knowing I had a thyroid issue. Unlike u I never had any of the symptoms whatsoever. I found out in jr year of high school I had hypothyroidism. I have been on and off doses of synthroid. When i went off of it for a month my TSH went up in the 200s and still I never felt different. Well I am on a new dose of 175mcg and I have lost (with the help of water 12lbs in 3months) I go back for bloodwork at the end of this month. Good Luck
i watched this yesterday and didnt comment and i had to come back and say that even though you say you have gained you are still here and still positive and thats what is so inspiring as you wont give up.
whatever challenges come your way you always see the positive on how you are going to come out of it.
Glad to see an update from you! Sounds like the past couple of months have been quite a struggle. If weight loss can't happen right now - then please just concentrate on being as healthy as you can. You need to feel great first before you can go that extra step of losing weight. hugs!

The small dose that you are given can cause INCREASE of TSH. I remembering reading several cases similar to that. I don't remember exactly, but the doses below 100 mcg are not usually used .
Good luck to you this new year! Sounds like you've had such a crappy start! I can only imagine how difficult it's been for you! I know you can do it though, because last year you were the first one I found on youtube about weight loss when I was struggling so much and you were so encouraging! Hugs!
I read somewhere that back in the 1800's they used to Zap or Electrocute people with a 6V battery, golf cart battery...they would alter the current every 10 seconds...reverse leads...to jump start there Pancreas or Liver...who knows, the body is electric...search Quack medical devices on ebay...crazy stuff...hehehe.
Most of my weight loss over the last 2 years has been cancer related. Ironically people come up to me and say "hey, you're looking great--have you lost some weight" !!!
I too have had a battery of tests and will have my second surgery next week. I am so thankful for public health care in Canada, as I'm sure you'll be in the UK.
I think you are very lucky to have a soulmate like Richie to see you through all this. All the best to both of you for 2010.
i had my thyroid removed and my doctor up my medication to 112 mcg will these symptoms go away and will i be able to absorb nutrients?
