i don't know why people don't like this game, it was much better than dmc 1. this game had more realistic movements than all of the others, and this is the only one the dante has air attacks without having to use swordmaster. also he's at his strongest in this game.

The hearts alter your combos when in devil trigger, like the fire heart allows you to do million stab and round trip when flying, they also come i handy I believe when fighting that three headed boss who attacks with fire, ice and lightning.

@Thousandeyes85 Plot wise yeah, it was just all gameplay and no story. It felt like bomberman, you just go from room to room killing. I think the whole combat system was really awesome but the stylish meter was very unforgiving, if you missed a single attack it would just vanish. And to keep it alive you had to keep flipping around. But luckily once you hit "Show Time" you could just blast the fuck out of everything and get tons of orbs. In the first game the guns were rather weak.

dont think dmc 2 deserved all the rage it received, i mean lets break it down.

the music was awesome (standard of dmc, infact it was superior to dmc4 music so)

dante looked his koolest in dmc2 in terms of hair and outfit, you cant deny that.

the game was more complete than dmc4 (half the game was you replaying the first half with a different character comeon!)

so i dont know, call me crazy but i thought it was half decent. the plot was a bit crap though (like in dmc4) and dante was too cold

I have always wondered why everybody says DMC 2 sucks.. now I understand.. it's too damn bulky.. there's no speed and combinations seem to be hard to perfom.. in other words one of the very essences which makes the DMC fun to play has ruined badly.. everything else looks OK.

Also, quick note to the escencede, you missed the big red orb which was behind you ( 0:32 ), but the left corner of the tower was covering it.

Orbs in DMC 2 are very needed, especially if you're playing the first time...

Also, when i played 1st , 2nd and 3rd( still playing though =] ) i would say that in DMC 2 Dante looks best.

I hope Capcom someday remakes DMC 2. It wasn't as good as the others in the series, but it had some good qualities and I've played worse games before and I think it deserves a second chance. Just give it better graphics, the gameplay of the other games, and tweak the story a little so that it connects to the others, maybe even coop with Lucia, and it should be good. Capcom did remake the first Resident evil a while back and it was great, why not DMC?

Teens don't like playing games with long cutscenes, which consist of boring talk about storyline rather than only one line per mission and which is something like "I'm going to kick your ass". It had random repeat missions from DMC1 and new boss fights. The game doesn't have a deep story mode. I played this game about 6 years ago and that's what I remeber from my experience. To give you an idea: I played DMC1 then played DMC2 and when I played part 2 I was like WTF!

I don't know why people look down on this game. sure the action is a bit slower but that gives you the ability to do more cool and complex moves. In 3 and 4, I just see myself pushing the same buttons and the same combos. besides this DMC has the shotgun with a handgun, thats freaking awesome. DMC2 also have the ability to customize your devil mode with that amulet so he "CAN" fly. to me, Best Devil May Cry in the series ^^
