  • I've never seen you at TK tournaments.

I wonder why you got picked.

  • Don't get so cocky, you only got picked because your a girl.

  • I've heard she's actually really good, just humble. Which is actually a good trait.

  • PS: I look forward to some more recent Tekken 6 gameplay footage from you.

  • I guess it's because arcades are so spread out over there, too many locations all over the place and not necessarily convenient for everyone. There need to be more arcades in hub locations and more joint ventures. I would suggest partnerships between arcades, that would really work well in some cases. Yeah the console experience is just not the same and it's sad people don't value the community, entertainment and friendship that can be gained from the arcade experience. <3

  • Keep up the good work Yan, look forward to seeing you on the show. Congratulations for making it in. I like the way you play Xiaoyu and you should really get into Tekken seriously. I think you have enormous potential. Cheers.

  • So I think that this show is a great idea for promoting the game. I only wish they'd do a series like this for TTT2. Also, I guess the learning curve for these games don't really help. There are often only one or two beginners among a field of veterans, at least that's what it's like over here. They get so turned off by the game they stop playing after two or three weeks. Half the time, they only play by themselves because the pros are so intimidating and unapproachable.

  • Arcades here don't promote themselves very often or effectively and I think that's one part of the problem and there are only two small venues where serious players actually hang out for Tekken over here (Sydney) and both are in the CBD. Across the road from one another actually. That's really sad.

I think as a community we're responsible for building a stronger arcade scene, we should encourage new players to play and be less intimidating and more patient when it comes to giving advice.

  • What's the reason for the scene being so 'dead' over there? Is it because your local arcade was out of the way or something? Pardon my ignorance, I am from Australia. You should have trained up and made more of an effort to find a place where there'd be a lot of Tekken competition. I think the problem is, not enough people are doing that. More people need to get into the arcade scene and stop being such lazy bums. Just in general. It's a trend I am noticing in 'Western' countries.

  • You're in, whoa wait fuck I'm late.... but fuckin whatever, I came to say congrats because I personally think you deserve it

  • Wooohoo take Catherine to the Next Level!!!!

  • Man if Starslayer had made it on instead of you I would have had to slap some shit. Congrats.

  • Grats on getting on the show

  • UGG!

  • Congratulations!! (:

  • YOU MADE IT. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. You were one of the people I was going for :]

  • Congrats on making it.

  • CONGRATS!

  • Congrats to you and the following winners! We had previously pulled your video as one of our favs!

  • Congrats on making Team Tekken!!

  • Congrats on making it onto the show!

  • Did you ever study Chinese? Sounds like the way you pronounce Yan is really proper.

  • @tdxownyou Haha I dated a Chinese guy for a while and I'd bug him with questions on how to say random things in Mandarin, but that's the extent of my Chinese >__<.

I got the name from a character in a very old PlayStation platformer called Tomba.

  • @MirandaAtAndys Awesome! I would like to challenge you to an online match. Do you have a PS3?

  • @tdxownyou lol wtf

  • Best of luck to you! I, myself deserted tekken for SFIV. I've been playing tekken 2 in the arcades, then I came across street fighter and mvc. I hope you get picked along with Jwong and the others. It's a shame that you didn't have any tourney footage, but its all good.

  • I've never actually seen you play Street Fighter or Tekken as they're not games I follow too closely but I know you're a legitimate gamer from your high level of Catherine play. I think you would make an interesting competitor as you're much more of an "unknown" than many of the other people auditioning.

  • @Aguacater87 And I bet they could all beat you at there game you just sound like a idiot/jealous troll

  • I like your video, so you don't have to be sorry :)

Also, I can ralate to you, I don't think this should be only about the best but also the one who puts time to get better such as yourself!

As much as I'd like to see one such as KOR I'd like to see you get better with every match!

  • Compared to other audition vids, I get a feeling of genuine honesty & humility. Sure you may have left Tekken for SF & may not be one of the high top end players & initially felt uncomfortable being streamed, but that shows awareness of your strengths and weaknesses as a player and person & that you can improve & learn. Skill/talent without spirit is nothing. Hope you win, all the best!

  • @pete1038699 Thanks for the support (and for listening)! lol :)

  • definitely open to seeing a fresh face and some estrogen on the show.

  • This is completely more convincing and charming than the "mystiq". shame for tiring on tekken though...

  • I supported this video for you to be on Team Tekken! Please support me too. I auditioned for Team Tekken too. I hope you make it! :D The first time I seen your name was livingwithjohnchoi Hahaha Prima Nocte.

  • yay norcal

  • ok so ur hot and a woman on the tekken team would make it ideal haha but ive met u before at one of the tournaments in LA and played you as well and im questioning whether or not u have enough dedication to the game to play for a serious team like that......ive seen all the videos submitted for this and u got the most views on youtube, so i hope u win but if u do don't let tekken down ;)

  • Gameplay?

  • @Marthroy9000 I have a link in the description for some old stream footage. Unfortunately Tekken isn't played very much around here anymore so I couldn't get anything recent. :(

  • hey good luck on your video...you are a total babe wahaha

  • Go Miranda! :3

  • @vicksmoka :<

  • I think your hotter than Justin Wong or Daigo, So watching you will be more entertaining!

  • Arcades shouldn't need donations to function as a business.

They're becoming extinct outside of major cities.

  • @Halibut86 Arcades are dying because people don't go.. and people don't go because the games they want to play aren't available at the arcade. There are a few arcades in my area that managed to get AE2012 because of a freeplay system with PS3s (which is a good idea). The actual arcade update is extremely expensive and most arcades can't afford it. The Golfland franchise allowed one of its locations to get 2012, but the other ones (as well as my school's arcade) still can't afford the update.

  • @SuperY4N I still doubt that people will ever return en masse to arcades unless a unique experience is offered. With FG's being released on console and portable arcade sticks, at gatherings you'll see 10+ setups for a popular game, all on console. Arcade owners will never be able to afford all of that equipment, and FG players won't be in there all day long.

Consoles are much more convenient. The only unique arcade games I've seen lately are not FGs.

  • @Halibut86 Hmm.. not sure where you live but the scene in NorCal is kinda different.. arcades are still a big deal. Even after AE was on console, we'd have hour long lines to play at the arcade on Friday/Saturday nights. Now that 2012 dropped for console, the arcade is a ghost town. People are committed to practicing the most recent version, so pre-2012 AE isn't really an option for competitive players.

  • @SuperY4N At the most popular locations in the entire country.

The industry is going to die. Many arcades have shut down because most of their content is available at home.

A donation isn't going to change the fact that it's not a profitable venture anymore.

  • @Halibut86 I'm sorry you don't understand how getting updates for games a lot of people play will help the arcade and the community. My donation isn't meant to save the industry (that's impossible; plus places like Golfland aren't even in danger of going out of business atm), it's meant to allow the community to gather at the arcade as we once did before 2012. It's a different experience than sitting at home playing XBL, it's a shame you don't see the value in that.

  • @MirandaAtAndys LOL This was my work account btw.. forgot I was signed on. >__<

  • @SuperY4N In my community, we all bring our own consoles out and have plenty of setups whenever there's a gathering.

Granted, that's entirely different from a static location that could potentially be busy every night.

Of course any community would benefit from an infusion of cash if it's used properly.

  • Points for pledging to do something positive for the community you love with the prize money.

  • My only vote for team Tekken XD Go MIRANDA!!

  • You got my vote. Seriously legit shit. Get hype!

  • Good luck! I remember seeing you at Arcade Infinity several years ago and just playing all the Bemani games + DJ MAX Technika. Sorry it was eh, a little gross at times and we've never really talked much before. I'm also trying to get better at drummania... Same with IIDX and Pop'n but is difficult to find in So Cal anymore. Anyway! I'm sure you'll do awesome when you get picked. *like*

  • @devilzukin Yeah I was really sad when I heard Arcade Infinity closed down... I always visited that place whenever I was down in SoCal. I miss Denjin too. :'(

  • i see you at Milpitas Golfland sometimes lol

  • I hope you get in

    also your gorgeous=D

  • nice video card!

  • I like you, I definitely support you, but how is Tekken hard? idk, I grew up with Tekken, and SF is just something totally different for me. Tag 2 is coming out soon. here's a chance to redeem yourself.

  • I came out like a real douche i take back everything i said the show shouldn't be for hardcore pro's (they should have their own show) once again my apologies, i just wanted more attitude and personality thats all. My bad. I'll like your vid as well if i could remove my earlier comment i would. I hope you enjoy yourself on the show

  • @arthisuther Thanks I appreciate it. It's hard to explain everything I'd like to in a short video. Saying I "gave up" in Tekken maybe wasn't the best way to put it.. I actually would go to my local arcade almost every day even after the scene up here was pretty much dead. Every time it would just be one guy (Mr. Naps) on the Tekken cab, by himself.. sometimes he'd even be playing SFIV instead. I'm upset I didn't level up enough in my 4 years of playing, but I also quit because the scene was dead

  • @SuperY4N You don't need to explain yoursself to a scrubby pad player like me at all your clearly a passionate gamer thats a solid part of the fgc i myself have barely played tekken6 (i don't feel that game one bit) but your out there competing thats all that matters. Thank u for replying my post i really didn't expect nor derseve such well explained response

  • Why she look like wee-man with a wig on...

  • I thought i'd leave a post here midway through your vid it sounded like someone winning a pageant for miss world. Saying that you'll donate money to get into the competition is not a good reason. Too lazy to play tekken but you want to be in the tekken team? wow. watch xians video and you'll see passion for fighting games. Also there is no way you could be on team sf they will have killers on that team known or unknown i fear for the tekken team now.

  • She seems like a genuine person, who has a great idea for the prize money that would benefit her entire local fgc. Let her in!

  • I came here thinking you were hot v.v

  • GO! GO! GO! TEAM TEKKEN!!!

  • definitly wish you luck

  • Are you a woman?

  • I hope you get selected to be on the show,

  • idk if you said this but how long have you been playing?

  • @MultiShinratensei Technically my first Tekken was 2, but that was really just my sister and me messing around mashing buttons. Around 5:DR I started to get into the game and when 6 came out (in arcades, years before console release... I'm thinking like 4 years ago?) I started playing competitively. I've been playing SFIV for 1.5 years.

  • Shoutouts to Boxer!

  • Go girl! best wishes for you, hope you get on the show!

  • Comment removed

  • @vavavvavava I never said anything bad about her Cross Assault video; I was simply pointing out that I think it's unfair how she has been screening her comments so only the "nice" comments show... it gives people a very one-sided view of what her viewers really think. I never thought trying to convince someone to play fair = "talking shit" :< learn something new every day.

  • Comment removed

  • @vavavvavava ?? Luka isn't talking shit in this video, he's actually complimenting Ciji. Maybe it's hard to tell because he's pretty hammered. And this was before I knew who Luka, Ciji, or even Mike Ross were.. :S

  • Comment removed

  • @vavavvavava Ohhh.. the comments. Those are old, I remember I was butthurt cuz over the years I've sent her challenges for both fighting games and music games and she's never accepted. :<

  • @SuperY4N oh damn. what a dodger! u should keep pressing her about it. be like "learn to play street fighter u suicide girl wannabe!"

ill delete the old comments. dont wanna bring up old drama even though i hate her

but lets be real, the fgc needs more drama Kappa

  • @SuperY4N Also, to clear this up. If THAT is what you want to keep telling people because it "makes you look better", so be it. I have your "challenge" from SRK from over 6 months after I stopped going to that website. You challenged me the same year you placed last in DJ Hero, Guitar Hero and Tekken at Devastation so why would I feel threatened? You called me a quitter for not attending an event when I had to work... all of this hate was a 180 from how you acted to my face at Dev 09.

  • @StarSlay3r It seems like you're blowing this out of proportion. All she did was suggest that people address negative comments instead of sweeping them under the rug. The point of posting a public video is usually not just to gauge the audience's reaction but how you handle that reaction.

Basically it looks better when you have something to say than when you just run away from it entirely. Coming here to try to save face and then derail into trash talking isn't so great either.

  • @StarSlay3r lol either you were misinformed or you're a compulsive liar.. but I didn't place last at all. I actually placed either 4th or 5th in DJ Hero (I forgot). I registered for GH but I forfeited my matches/left to have food with my boyfriend (it was my birthday) so technically yes I did place last in that one. Tekken I went like 3-2 I think; that was the same tourney I made a Julia player ragequit mid-match (Quasimodo, from NM I think). I also got my first triple perfect that tourney.

  • Great memories. :)

  • @SuperY4N just wanna say congrats and that i had nothing to do with starslayer responding. even though its delicious

  • @SuperY4N First of all good luck. I'm pretty sure you'll get picked, and I don't think this was a competition between you and I, so I don't get why it has been made out that way. If you had a kid and people were posting comments about your kid (which is unrelated to the contest) wouldn't you remove em? Idc if removing those make others upset. They're not related to the contest, and my family, friends, co-workers and sponsors don't need to see such needless personal hate on my video.

  • @SuperY4N The likes and dislikes speak for themselves. I don't think attacking people on a personal level is appropriate or necessary for this contest. If you support Like, comment, share, if not ignore. The end. You personally were nice to me when we first met and talked on SRK,then you turned on me shortly after for seemingly no reason... BUT I know you're passionate about Tekken and for that reason I liked your video. I have better things to do then hate on ppl over a contest video.

  • you seem sweet and honest. thumbs up!

  • Real talk though, this girl is a legitimate fighting game player (unlike some others who have posted videos), she wants to be on the show, and she wants to do something cool with the money. I say let her on!

  • ur my faivorite i hope you really make it

  • Eat shit, StarSlay3r.

  • hope u get in i havent seen much tekken vids so good luck

  • I don't know who you are, but your hot so i'll thumbs up this video

  • Good luck Yan >__< Btw we still need to have our run back from Keystone 2 =)

  • We all know you're buying shoes with the rest of the money. XD

I voted for you because you look adorable and nervous. Also, I like how you came as a "real person" down to earth if that makes any sense to anyone.

Plus, we also need a girl in there. Let's not this be another sausage fest, please.

  • Dude! you are awesome! and I'm a Tekken player. I'd love for you to represent the Tekken guys (: I love the video, you're adorable. you got my vote!

  • Hey Miranda,

I really liked you entry video, your long term goal, and the fact you want to challenge yourself with Team Tekken.

    Hope you get chosen!

  • Good video, nice to see that your intentions after winning are to improve your local scene (which is a big deal for those people who are lucky enough to have a local arcade to go to) good luck on getting on the show.

  • Mirandaaa <3

Seen what you can do with mind games by winning that Catherine Tournament so I'm confident you'll do well in this as well, you're one of my favorite players to watch and hear, good luck with this! I hope you get picked~

  • @TearsOfTheSky Thanks so much for the support!

  • I don't know who u are but your hot so i'm liking this video

  • I don't know who u are but your hot so i'm liking this video

  • We need a good balance of competitors and I support her, she should be in Cross Assault! *finds her tournament videos*

  • Wait, I remember that devastation tourney! That's the one where Jimmy won the whole thing against Maddogjin. That makes me want to watch that match again. Oh, and good luck on your audition.

  • Good luck miranda!

  • just watched both vids, ur pretty awesome!

  • Hell yes!

  • Nice, straightforward video! A lot of the videos are just people acting silly or pros showing videos of themselves in tournaments. I just made a video today and I'm trying to get in too, I wish the best of luck to you.

  • Yo you were mad salty, didn't even want to shake my hand lol

  • you got my vote since you remind me of Miranda's ass from Mass effect 2 xD...^ ^

  • OMG BALROG NOOB

Kidding, kidding. I'm glad to see someone supporting a local arcade. We don't have any near here.

  • @Zxdrag i remember playing an Adon in casuals and losing but I didnt get bodied by anybody.

  • Oh shit i bodied you at droms with my adon, you got my vote lol

  • hope you get there

  • Miranda, you are the Chyna of Street Fighter :)

Hey did you win a SF tournament in sacramento not that long ago?

  • @glennxi That'd be pretty dope if I did but I definitely did not. Haven't made the trip up to Sac in a long time. Thanks for the support regardless. :]

  • Dude, she got my vote

    Team Tekken! Yeah

  • You dropped tekken? You should drop street fighter as well and stay in the kitchen where you belong

  • @darthmarth333 What's wrong with you? Tekken / Street Fighter aren't games in which the physical force matters.

If you have the skills, then it doesn't matter if you're male or female.

So please, inform yourself before you comment.

  • @luksgammer360 lol don't worry im only kidding. i hope she makes it. thumbs up!!!

  • @darthmarth333 lol, no problem! everything is fine =D

  • btw, liked the video. good luck!

  • marry me! lol

  • i'll be cheering for you all the way from AUS

now get dacid into it too

  • Good luck.

People should appreciate the effort put in FG .

  • AUtomatic like because shes Team Tekken!

  • I'll vote for you just because you're good at Catherine

  • Hope u get in. Go Feminism!!!!

  • I respect you for doing this video in a loose fitting t-shirt and using legitimate video game experience to get in instead of your breasts and 10 pounds of makeup.

  • That was real passion, hope you get in.

  • cool story bro.

  • nice video, hope you get a spot

  • I would want you to go because of the fact that you could represent for the girls out there like myself but I only like team street fighter =/ I'm a street fighter girl

  • @elspoko Damn get a life

  • Cool vid I hope you and me make it cause it's all about team Tekken!!!! show some love :)

  • Deserves a spot on the show. Eff what everyone else is talking about.

  • Donate the money to get bigger boobs...youll be more successful

  • I hope you get on, it would be good to see a girl who can play well on the show

  • Best of luck!

  • NORCAL FTW!! i remember you as the tekken player at golfland

  • Super Yan, you better rock Xiaoyu in SFxT

  • you seem like the polar opposite of a "gamer girl" because you clearly know you're shit. i mean, you'e playing balrog and not chun li. that says a lot. good luck, unfortunately there are a lot of huge names entering so you'll need it but if it were up to me id vote for you!

  • @happybirthdayshrek Haha I tried Chun Li kinda recently, Balrog is a much easier character to play in every aspect of the game, so I have nothing but respect for Chun Li players. I do hate the matchup though (for Rog). :<

  • @happybirthdayshrek your* >_>;

But agreed, she knows her games.

  • Good luck !

  • I would love to see you on Team Tekken!

  • Niiice. I hope you make it!!

  • Seeing all these pros going for team sf, its good to see someone with some skill going for tekken

  • donating your prize money to local arcades?!

what an honest and hard-working girl ;___; i hope you get on the show!

  • Miranda is great player and friend of mine. She's really passionate about gaming and is really supportive when it comes to the fighting game community. She would be perfect for Cross Assault :D

  • I'm sure you're a great player but you seem too nice sorry..

  • how do we actually vote for people?

  • @ImShiawase There isn't really any "voting", but the producers determine who is to be chosen for the teams based on video content, views, likes/dislikes. So if you want to help me out, the best thing is to share the video with people and make sure you like the video on this page. ^__^ Thank you!

  • @SuperY4N Ohh okay, gotcha! I'll go ahead and throw the link on my twitter. It would be great to see you on the show

  • @ImShiawase Thank you for the support! :D

  • damn...a girl who actually gets fighting games let alone enjoys them, thumbs up for not bein a scrub n stickin around, got my vote

  • Good luck Miranda!

I really hope you get chosen.

  • you have my vote, not just cause your pretty but you actually know how to play fighting games.

  • I support you being on Cross Assault simply because you would help out your local arcade scene. If I had arcades around where I lived, I would feel the same way about them. Good luck!

  • Good Luck Miranda!!!

  • good luck and hopefully you'll make it to the Grand Finals at FINAL ROUND XV.

  • I'm so glad you're auditioning! I know you have a lot of experience in competitive and casual play for both Tekken and SF. -- She's the real deal folks. No button masher here! -- Hope you get a spot!! :)

  • Now this video has my respect because: 1. Showed gameplay and 2. You aren't flaunting 'goodies'. I've seen you at EVO before. Well, in 2010. I wanted to money match you (female money match), but I got diverted with the whole Vegas thing. Lol. Good luck!

  • You tell them, girl.
