I remember watching this on the news while I stayed at a friend's house watching it burn. I couldn't tell if my unit was one of the wasted ones or not. They wouldn't let us in until Thursday, some 4 days after it all started. That's a long time to wait to find out if you're burned out or not.
My building went up :( It was 10890. From what I know, most of the buildings on the canyon side have gone, 10878 went, the building across from the mailbox went, and one of the central rows' buildings went. I just heard a guy who took a police escort and he said that his building was down too, although I don't know which one.....
do you honestly think that just because it's an apartment and not a house owned by the bank that it is something different? What "homeowner" actually OWNS their house???? An apartment is still someone's home with all of their belongings. It's so easy for people to write off a crisis as nothing when it's not their own! An apartment is someone's home the SAME AS a house that is mortgaged by the bank. I've been a homeowner and I've lived in apartments and it's the freakin same!!!!!
does anyone know which particular units were destroyed? we live there and we would like to know when we can come back and maybe take a look and see what else we can salvage if it's not badly affected...
can someone please update me on the damage report on the la Terraza apt complex? i know someone who lives there and is desperately needing information if his apt survived. please PM me with any updates thanks!!
