  • Thank for sharing this video..we have so many beautiful talented women of color in history i hope more videos are made like this one..Halle did a wonderful job what a great actress..no matter what shade of black you are in the Entertainment field they all have and will pay their dues..some more than others i salute all that struggle in this business..thanks again for sharing..

  • Dorothy Dandridge was really beautiful.

  • Sexi in the finest ways .... :)

  • I THINK THAT BAP777 HAS DIED OF NOT ANSWERING ALL OF THESE TRIBUTES PARTICULARLY MY QUESTION REGARDING THE MUSICAL BACKGROUNG I THINK THAT DOT HAS THE EDGE AS REGARD RAISING ME UP. MORE SEXUAL THAN THE OTHER 'LADY' SLEEP ON BAP777.

  • HELLO AGAIN MY DISCUSSIVE FRIENDS . LUVERLEY BUT WHAT IS THE MUSIC???? TELL ME PLRASE BAPOBOY.

  • Has anyone ever heard of fredi Washington??? SHE WAS BEAUTIFUL! She, like Dorthy Danridge could have passed for white ESPECIALLY Fredi Washington but she stayed true to her race. She played the led in Imitation of life but was never offered another role after that because of it's controversy. She was eventually forgotten. If you goggle her, you'll cry your eyes out because of the way Hollywood treated her. So sad.

  • @soaringsolo I think Dorothy got a little more recognition because of the accolades she received for her acting and things (oscar nomination), and also because Dorothy did all of this looking like a black woman. Dorothy could not really pass for white. You could definitely tell she was a fair skinned black woman. Fredi, on the other hand, looked like she was a white woman with a tan. Lol. Although very beautiful in her own right, i still think Dorothy is definitely the man. Or should I say woman

  • This video montage is awesome! But what's the name of the song playing?

  • Janet Jackson personality might be beautiful but based on physical character and presence playing dorothy would have been a worst case scenario. Her voice, face, body shape, poor acting skills! Get serious janet jackson as dorothy!?? Complete ignorancey! I guess she should have played storm and cat woman too! SMDH get serious!

  • TWO DROP DEAD GORGEOUS WOMEN, HOLLYWOOD ROYALTY!!!!

  • Halle was the best person period point blank. Halle berry could be the reincarnation of dorothy. Everything about them is similar. I believe god put her soul back on the earth because she lived to short! Who cares if she was mixed. If you never saw halle's parents you wouldn't be able to tell she's mixed! Their skin color is almost dead on. Janet jackson would have made the worst dorothy ever. All that surgery, janet is very ugly.

  • @DBRandom1995 JANET JACKSON WILL NEVER BE UGLY YOU DELUSIONAL THIRD RATE BASKET CASE!!!!

  • Not only does Halle look like Ms. Dandridge, Ive seen both of their movies, they have virtually the same on screen personality. They smile the same...walk the same, same class...much of everything else...so I have to disagree...Janet Jackson, could not, would not have been a good match...only Halle...

  • Both such beautiful ladies!!!!

  • OK TIGER cool down she ,, after all,, is only a woman. THE GUITAR THO WAS A PLUCKING DELIGHT ! If music be the food of love Play on.....

  • I truly adore the ground that Halle Berry, walks on.

However, having said that, there has never been a Woman like Dorothy Dandridge, on planet earth. Dorothy, had far more than mere beauty. She had deeply rooted affection, that took her beauty well beyond that of mere human beings and into the realm of Angelic. She had approachable beauty and charisma that made her more than just a "looker."

This Woman had a Soul and Spirit, that forced you to want to get to know her from the inside out.

  • I think Janet Jackson should have gotten the role, I mean Dorothy is a full black woman not biracial. Halle did a good job though I do admit but Janet is a good actress too.

  • @blissfullyme1980 So Janet shoud have gotten the role only because she is fully black? From what I read about Dorothy, she was usually cast in roles that played on the tragic mulatto theme. If Dorothy had looked like Janet I doubt she would have been as successful, as Jane't looks and features would not have been as acceptable on the silver screen for a leading lady back in the 40s and 50s. It made more sense for Halle to get the role.

  • @JadaFan4life , Janet was also choosen to play the part as well so obviously that debunks your statment that janet could not pull off Dorthy's look. Janet is not only a great actress, but like Dorthy she is a dancer and the greatest performer. At the end of the day you have your opinion and I have mine and I am sticking with it.

  • @blissfullyme1980 Janet was not "chosen" for the role and neither was Halle. There was never an audition. They both purchased the right to seperate biographies and Halle produced and starred in her own film. In Donald Bogles bio it was stated that Dorothy's crossover success was in part due to the fact that she was considered exotic and her looks suggested she was racially mixed. Given the attitude and climate of the time period, a Halle or Vanessa Williams type would be a more logical casting.

  • @blissfullyme1980 Btw, yes Dorothy had two black parents but there are black people with "two" black parents that have more white or non black blood then some biracials as DNA tests are clearly showing. Also, no one is trying to change your view. I just think the whole argument of only fully black women being considered for the role of Dorothy Dandridge is rather silly if I must say so myself.

  • @JadaFan4life , And yes a full black woman should have played the role in my opinion, lol me myself , Iam a mixed black woman so not hating on mixed chicks, it's just my opinion.

  • @blissfullyme1980 what does full black even mean????!!! Halle was a perfect match because she looks so similar to Dorothy. There are virtually no full black people( people that are fully of african descent) in the US and other countries. I am Nigerian-American both my parents were born and raised in Nigeria and my ancestors were not slaves but that still doesn't mean I'm 100 percent "black". I'm closer to it than most black americans but its hard to know if anyone is 100% of any descent.

  • @crysco2010 , Full black means non mixed blacks(they are out there still lol) Halle was a good match as well as Janet Jackson just my opinion.

  • Im going to have to agree with crysco. People of african descent or people of european descent seem to be mixed somewhere down the line. People are also saying that the Ethiopians for example are mixed. There will always be mixing when you have different races side by side. People conquer countries centuries later the people look different. If you mean, both parents being african american making the child full black then ok. Beautiful people are born of many shades with 2 afro american parents

  • Beautiful women, & Beautiful song .

  • The perfect person to play Dororthy Dandridge was Halle Berry...it's quite remarkable how much Halle favors her...they have petite bone structures...I couldn't see any body else playing that role like Halle did.

  • that was amazing. its like thats her daughter

  • what was the point of this? so longg n boring. that music? comonnn. yaya theyre beautiful n they look alike.cool

  • God is Amazing what He can duplicate....the reincarnation is undeniable!

  • I thought Janet looked more like Dorothy in the photo where they made her up to look like Carmen Jones, and it's funny that Halle seemed so interested in DD after Janet mentioned her in an Ebony article way back in 90!

  • Anybody out there know what the song is in this video, and who does the song?

  • Halle Berry, la Dorothy Dandrige de hoy !! wow

  • wouuuu es grandioso el parecido de estas dos hermosas mujeres, halle berry que perfecta para la pelicula de la biografia de dorothy.

  • Beyonce is not an Actress. Great sing and performer YES . Actress NO! Im not a hater I love the Queen B, but im not going lie.

  • does anyone else think that beyonce could have gained a little weight, and play this part too? i think she would have been good

  • @Jemone4u

Beyonce can easily be made to look like Dorothy since their looks aren't that far apart, but I don't see why Beyonce would have to gain weight for the role. According to Dorothy's biography, she only weighed a mere 110 pounds and she had a 22 inch waistline. Dorothy wasn't a large women by any means.

  • you really know what you're doing with these pics... you are great!

  • There is no doubt that Halle and Dorothy are both strikingly beautiful, however, I don't see a strong resemblance. Dorothy just had that classic look that Halle doesn't. When Halle tried to imitate the look in the movie, she looked overdone where Dorothy looked natural. Again, both beautiful but cannot be compared or parallelled.

  • @mdooms76 well.. lol.. she wasn't meant to BE her.. just to play her... she wasn't being compared in the movie.. it was a story.. here.. are just pictures.. the comparing is done in our minds..BUT there is a slight resemblance... i think beyonce could have done this.. i wonder if anyone else sees it that way..

  • 1:15 - 1:17 straight twins.

  • Las dos hermosas y de caracteristicas envidiables son lo maximo en su tiempo me encantan este video es excelente como homenaje a estas dos grandes estrellas =)

  • perfect choice to play the beautiful Dorothy Dandridge....somthing bout those dreamy eyes

  • So beautiful woman with such a lovely smile.Great video and great music.

  • Black folks i swear!!!! always got to come up on a page and say some dumb shyt....always got to dog sisters out..even a dead one...DAMN!!!

  • @Machelle3200 - yeah i know...thats how they are

  • both were modern day jezebels

  • @ebeledi how do you know what they were...you wasn't even born yet..man please get off ya soap box!!

  • @Machelle3200 lmao do you know what a jezebel is? if you did you wouldnt be attempting to insult me. peace.

  • @ebeledi - do YOU know what a jezebel is?

  • Also, nubian05girl, if you can get your hands on an old book by Lance Horner and Kyle Onstott entitled "Master of Falconhurst", read it! An older brother of mine who taught history gave this book 2 me 2 read when I was 12 yrs. old. It's about the "old south" and slavery: I thought it was a joke...so graphic and sensational and just surreal. But, I was wrong! That book has come 2 LIFE in 2010 as the powers- that-be turn this planet n2 a global sustainable corporation, AKA the final plantation:-0

  • @2dasimmons I love knowledge so I will definitely get my hands on a copy of that book. Thanks!

  • I think Janet Jackson would have been better but Halle did a good job.

  • for a mixed girl, halle isn't even that light. I'm around her complextion or even lighter and im full black. However, I dont think its the shade that everyone is hyped about but the mere fact that she is HALF white. I dont think Halle is all that pretty. There are prettier mixed and full black women out there.

  • Good point! And, in fact some of the most beautiful women are the DARK-SKINNED black women. Are you familiar with actress Judy Pace or Brenda Sykes from the "60s/"70s? While Halle Berry, Beyonce, Mariah, Alicia Keys, etc are pretty women we need the opportunity 2 see some of the dark brown-skinned/black beauties preferably with afros. Unfortunately this glamorous look is not allowed anymore, but it WILL be back. But for the Dorothy Dandridge story, Halle Berry was a good choice.

  • @2dasimmons yes mant dark skinned black women are GORGEOUS!

  • @openmindedfemme Gorgeous is not a word I use, but I will agree w/U

  • @2dasimmons - lol ok thanks!

  • @2dasimmons Master of Falconhurst. I would love to read it. Thank you for the info.

  • I'll second that.

  • @jadenight0 - great points!

  • spooky huh?

  • She could have played her but I think Halle or even a younger Janet Jackson Look more like her. The reality is that each of these women is one of a kind. The reality is that so little other than what was cobbled together is known of the real women so we fifty or more years later are trying to recreate someone who we knew so little of in terms of her personal life and off camera manner.

  • do you guys think beyonce could have played dorothy....just think about it...no mean comments...just be honest

  • @FrontPageStatuz an overrated singer with no acting skills......get serious

  • @gronlaf lol

  • Two beautiful women!!! I love Halle!!!!

  • Would we be saying Halle Berry is so beautiful if she was three shades darker?l

  • That's the tragedy of America, unfortunately.

  • @lumaurice - i know...she is not even that pretty

  • This is really wonderful. The music is nice. What's the song?

  • Dorothy was breath-taking, and before her time, Halle is beautiful inside and out

  • Gosh, Dorothy was beautiful. Simply Stunning!!!

  • similar personalities, look very much a like , both from Ohio .. Halle born exactly a year after Dorothys' death ... anyone else getting a sense of reincarnation here? lol ... halle was a perfect match ... if u've seen carmen jones u'd understand why Janet couldnt have been a good match

  • i've seen carmen jones, i've seen janets acting as well as halle's - in MY OPNION, it doesnt matter what anyone else says, I PREFER janet to play dorothy than halle like many others. just like you prefer halle to janet, its a matter of PERSONAL TASTE, and since when has personal taste been a crime to anyone? while halle does favor dorothy, reincarnation is a bit MUCH. i've seen people who favor dorothy MUCH MORE than halle AND janet- its not like halle is the 'chosen one' lol

  • I know...and so many other weird similarities. Like- Marlon Brando went up to Dorothy Dandridge and kissed her on the lips at the Oscars and surprised everyone. Then there was that Adrien Brody kiss with Halle Berry at the 2001 Oscars...

  • @kikelomonaija - good point!

  • @kikelomonaija you could probably be right some guitar

  • @kikelomonaija In addition, Halle and Dorothy were born in the same hospital in Ohio. And both women also seem to have a thing for white men. Dorothy was the first woman of color to be nominated for an Oscar; while Halle berry was the first woman of color to win an Oscar.

  • @funniandloved Correction: Dorothy was the first Black woman to be nominated for Best Actress. The first Black person to be nominated for an Oscar in any category, male or female, was Hattie McDaniel in "Gone With The Wind". So for the Best Actress nomination, Dorothy started the cycle and Halle finished it.

  • @kikelomonaija yea i know they look very much alike they maybe be the same soul

  • @kikelomonaija reincarnation is a LIE

  • @kikelomonaija I don't know if it's true but I heard they were even born at the same hospital. Also Halle Berry was able to fit a dress worn by Dorothy Dandridge. Makes you go "hmmmm.."

  • just b/c a bi-racial says no their not black they are bi-racial. its showing they are acknowledging both sides not just the black side. what did she say she was? im blk my husband is white and our kids will be mixed races. I dont want my kids saying they're full black or full white. cuz theyre not. they are bi racial and i wished more mixed people acknowledge that. however it depends on the persons veiw of things so i can understand why the might associate with only one side of thier blood

  • Associating w/one blood used 2 B the law of the land in America: if a person had (1) drop of black blood, law said that person was black. I think in Louisiana it was actually 3/32nd black blood made one black. So that would mean that if someone like Mariah Carey had a child w/a "white" man, the child would be black. I know it's crazy, but that's Americana which is (1) reason why race remains such a big issue. Bi-racial is a fairly new term created (circa '70s) to diminish black identification.

  • Exactly!!! I made this point on another vid. Now all of a sudden white people love to claim "biracial" half black people as white. Except, of course, if that person is a criminal of some sort. Notice how now Tiger is being compared to the "black lusty stud" of slavery days. Somehow his indescretion has made him more black now.

  • You've made a valid point. Many of us "oldsters" understand that in modern society the global push 2 add as many people as possible to "white" race is due 2 rapidly declining white population which reportedly may not exist in the next 100 yrs. due to skin cancer, homosexuality, interracial couples, etc. So now mixed race people who traditionally would've been considered black are "bi-racial" w/many even "passing" for "white." Yet there remain those 2 proud of blackness 2 crossover. Wow!

  • Both of these women are gorgeous. They look so much alike. Neither is less attractive than the other. Both stunning beauties!

  • In my opinion they should have gotten Janet Jackson to play Dorothy...only because she had the same exact figure, and Halle's face is too chisled...

  • Are you on crack! No way! Halle and Dorothy could be sisters! Janet's face is chubby compared to Dorothy's and Janet's body is too round. Halle and Dorothy have the same body shape. Get your eyes checked.

  • notice I said in MY OPINION...I don't understand why people fight on the internet...beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and my opinion is Janet has that sweet look that Dorothy has, Halle is just striking. They're look is similar, yes but, like I said that was just my opinion. I don't need to get anything checked, you need to check your attitude.

  • I agree. Janet would've been a great match.

  • i agree, i think, and its just my OPINION, that janet should've played dorothy, janet has that raw sex appeal, but something about janet always appeared more pleasant and naturally sweet, very much like dorothy dandridge, whereas halle always fely a little cold and off standish to me. dorothy and halle DO favor, but i believe that janet would've been an OVERALL better fit because they're personalities are so similar, and they do look alike.

  • well said i agree!

  • I think JJ would've done a great job as DD . However HB did ok with playing DD.

  • 2 beautifull women in an awsome slide show thank you...the dress the gold one the one Dorthy wore/Halle wore...same dress excat fit...how spookey is that...and the birthplace thing....and the Oscar thing makes you wonder ...the looks the style its more than just remarkable ...the demons well not the drugs and booze but the emotional stuff...if you know then you know...you will not get details from me but lets just say its ALL REALLLY SPOOKEY

  • halle doesn't have a thing on Dorothy. no way no how.

  • Nice, and I love halle but Dorthy smokes!

  • You know the craziest and spookiest part of it all is, they were BOTH born in the EXACT SAME HOSPITAL.

And another lil coincidence, Dorothy Dandridge was the 1st black actor ever in history to be NOMINATED for an Oscar, and then years later here comes lil' Miss Halle Berry (A DEAD LOOK-A-LIKE TO THE LATE GREAT DOROTHY DANDRIGE BY THE WAY) to be the 1st black actor ever in history to WIN an Oscar?!

Man, Dorothy came back as Halle to come and get back her Oscar, ha ;p

  • lol

  • Halle is not the first black actor to win an Oscar.....The 1st African American was Hattie McDaniels. Halle is the 1st African American Women to win best actress

  • OH YEAH, completely forgot about Hattie for Gone With The Wind. Thank you! But regardless, Halle has made history.

  • @localibran ur soooo right. i have been thinking that lately reincarnation. p.s both halle and dorothy were/are unlucky with love

  • Comment removed

  • nothin better 2 do huh??? the arguement was pointless

  • *sigh* Dear ccaammiiitoo1, please get over yourself. You gave your opinion and I gave my opinion...nothing more, nothing less. Thanks.

  • wow, they look so much a like!

  • Halle IS attractive, no point in hating on the sista. But Dorothy? Dorothy was BLACK Amerikka's beauty, our "black" Marilyn Monroe.

    RIP, Sister, RIP.

  • SeptiaWoman, help me out. My feeling is that the role of Dandridge should've gone to Janet Jackson rather Halle. Jackson's expressions are more consistent with Dandridge. I just don't believe Berry as Dandridge!

Another thing, Hollywood's material for Dandridge just didn't get the job done. For that reason, Dandridge's abundant talent was not fully explored.

  • I swear I dont know why some of you try to make Janet Jackson seem like more then she really is. She definitely doesnt have the acting talent to pull off someone as complex as Dorothy. Janet is also too short, dark-skinned and she's WAY too ugly in the face to convincingly capture Dandridges smoldering beauty. At least Halle is beautiful in the same way as Dorothy. They both have (had) naturally straight hair, delicate facial features, café latte complexions, and slim 110-115Ib body types.

  • Good point, Jada...But I'm going to stick with my point of view. Berry just didn't do it for me! In fact, I've yet to see anything she's done that makes me go WOW!!! With me, it's more than being just a pretty face!!!

  • Who said I was trying to change your mind. I don't intend to. I'm just giving my opinion like you.

  • Sorry, Jada... That was just a figure of speech, something not to take seriously. But I have allowed your views are valid, have I not? I will not take this any farther. And thank you SINCERELY for the chat!

  • 1- halle berry had a nose job years ago- dont believe me? LOOK IT UP. 2- halle berry's hair is NOT naturally straight- ever heard of a good perm? have you seen pictures of halle when her roots were showing? LOOK IT UP. 3) you have some nerve calling ANY 1 ugly- as i can recall, janet has millions of fans who think the OPPOSITE- and yet i looked on your page and you've not 1 subscriber- i wonder WHY? U are clearly a rascist and have something against anyone darker than a paperbag-you'll die ALONE

  • Cammpyluv,

Take your tired behind and go sit in a corner and listen to Rhythm Nation. Any truly objective person that has seen Janet's work knows she doesn't have the acting prowess to pull off playing Dorothy Dandridge or Lena Horne for that matter. We can go on and on about this, but at the end of the day Halle was the one who ultimately got the role and all of the acclaim.

  • @JadaFan4life - janet jackson is ugly? what?

dark skinned? so what is tyrese?

    short...maybe

but the rest of what you were saying sounded high as hell.

dorothy's own mother was dark skinned and big yet look at the beautiful daughter she made- do you have a problem with that too?

you may not like janet jackson for the part but you only one good reason and that was her height- the rest just sounded like insecure or racist garbage.

  • @JadaFan4life naturally straight hair...delicate features?

    what????

    perms and makeup!

they were beautiful but so is janet! why must you bash another like that? you sound hateful and VERY insecure.

  • I personally think Introducing Dorothy Dandridge was Halles best performance to date. If Halle had not obtained the role of Miss Dandridge, Vanessa L. Williams would have been the next best choice. In some pictures and film footage, I think Vanessa resembles Dorothy (at least in the face) even more so then Halle. Singer Tamia also looks a lot like Dorothy.

  • Again, Jada..., cada cual su gusto. But we can agree simply to disagree!

  • Comment removed

  • My point exactly.

  • Thank you and do you remember when Halle denied being black?

  • i cant think of no one else to portray her other than halle berry! perfect!

  • Good work on this vid, the similarities are unparalled, nose job or not!

  • Most of these comments are comedic. This video is a simple comparison of two incredibly talented black actress's. And you guys are discussing complexion and the depth of their talent. Get a grip and stop. It's not that dang deep folks!

  • I agree with people here for the most part. Two reasonably talented black actresses, dont really look the same except in skin colour.

Theyre an acceptable one off for midle white America if I may lump you all together for one moment.

America has a black president now, its time to move on, there must be plenty of very talented black girls with darker skin.

Lets start seeing em get picked for descent roles.

  • THANK YOU!!!!! That's exactly what I was getting at!

  • I do not think they look alike just because they have similar skin tones

  • they look like twins

  • if halle had not had the noce job she would look nothing like dorothy

  • did she have a nose job?? I didn´t know. and indeed, I love Halle Berry, but I think Dandrige, had a lot more personality and fire.

  • what is the background music?

  • i wish there was a beutiful deep brown skinned women that had halles features and body so that more black people with darker skin could look up to her more as a inspiration not to be rude but light skin black girls have it muuuccchhh easier cuz they have a bunch of light skin black celebs to look up to darker skin girls dont which is very sad cuz there not told there beutiful or sex simbols.

  • There are plenty of darker skinned women who are just as beautiful as Halle. They are not covered because first of all we have that stupidity that there can only be one black starlet at a time. Next, we as a people have so much self hate to deal with.

  • i agree, i am mixed with black and mexican. the way i am treated is much better because of my complexion and skin tone. i couldn't tell you how many times white men have told me i'm acceptable to be with because of those things. but i can't be offended, since i fit commercial ideals. typical. i've seen just as many beautiful dark toned women as white and i think we need more in magazines and as leading ladies in the box office.

  • Same white men tell a sister like me how much they love my skin tone and how they prefer my type of beauty and "africanness" bottom line is men say a whole LOTTA shit to get the drawers..lol.

  • I think both women are beautiful. Whether they're mixed, married white men, etc., both women are black and have experienced the sting of prejudice. I believe that Dorothy would be a bit disappointed in how some of our black actresses have compromised themselves for a role. She (Dorothy) has always been a class act. I'm still reeling from "Monster's Ball."

  • I agree, "Monster's Ball" was not an Oscar-worthy movie.

  • I disagree, her performance in that movie was raw and amazing, she had to step out of herself and tap into a whole other since of being, I thought she was brilliant, much props to miss Berry, she was incredible in that film

  • she was wonderful to me as well and to think she won an Oscar for Monster's Ball??? SMH!

  • Actually I was talking about Monster's Ball. I think people really need to look at what she did in that film, granted it's not my favorite film she did, but the range she showed in that role was raw and uninhabited, most people get caught up on the rough sex scenes, but those people don't understand symbolism. Bottom line she's brilliant.

  • I agree.

  • It's a tie, both Gorgous.

  • that was nice!

  • That was nice!!!!

  • Dorothy lookz more pure and natural but they're both beautiful.

  • They both are naturally beautfiful but Dorothy's just a little bit better!!

  • They do look a lot alike but just because Dorothy looks more white doesn't mean she is more beautiful.

  • Dorthy does look more mixed, and halle is still more beautiful IMO.

  • Dorothy just has keen features which isn't necessarily "white" features . Plenty of unmixed african tribal folk have those same features.

  • i think janet jackson's facial bone structure looks more like ms. dandridge than halle..mostly when they smile... but halle still looks awfully close overall... i think that lil girl jay z signed a couple years ago to def jam looks a lot like her tho.. cant think of her name but she got signed around the time rihanna did

  • yeah i feel like Halle was the reincarnated version of the great Dorothty Dandridge in looks, sex appeal, and i feel like Dorothy opened the door for Halle to step through.

  • there were parts that really threw me off i couldn't tell them apart...they definately got the right person for this movie

  • Halle Berry couldn't hold a candle to Dorothy's Beauty!

  • please!

  • I love this song i want to know who it is

  • it says on the site i was reading about dorothy that in her father's side is black-african and white english on her father's side. and jamaican-mexican on her mother's side.

  • i look up dorothy and it says she's biracial.so is halle berry.they have so much in common.they are both so beautiful

  • I watched the film for the 2nd time and it reduced me to tears she was such a beautiful woman truely a face of an angel. Halle berry has made it in her own right but the simularities are way too close I think your rightthe are two of the same peoplel. I LOVE U HALLE and Dorothy true inspiration. Xxxx

  • okay yah halle was the right girl for the role, they look so similar it's crazy, i heard janet jackson was up for the role, the right person got it!

  • the fact that I can't tell them apart in a couple of those pictures scares me

  • They resemple of course. I even started to feel like HALLE was the reincarnated version of Dorothy. Since she didn't get to accomplish what she came here to do the first go round (due to many "color barriers" during that time), why not come back & succeed in what she originally set out to do. In a new time/era.

I know it sounds cooky or weird.

  • i love them both, but ms dandrige was pretty much black i love you halle i love you dorothy for inspiring halle

  • YEA im so glad you mention that i was thinking the samething it do look the halle is Dorothy all over again because i even notice they act the same way that is some crazy stuff

  • Continue: But isnt it quite interesting how much these 2 mirror each other not only in personal but in their professional lives. Not to mention they have an uncnny resembelance. Its actually kind of disturbing almost. Makes you think that Halle is a reincarnation of Dorothy.

  • WOW they really do have alot of similarities other than looks. While I was looking them up i discovered alot of freaky connections btwn the 2. Halle was born 8 months after Dorothy died. Both were born in Cleveland Ohio. Dorothy was the 1st blk actress to be nominated for an oscar in a lead role. While Halle won in that same category 46 yrs later. And they both have had horrible, abusive relationships. These are the few that i can think of.

  • Dorothy Danridge is so beautiful that I think God esnt her down from heaven.
