It sounds like Ed to me. I have not heard anyone replicate fretwork just like his own before, and this sounds like his fingers. Everyone can hit the same notes on the guitar, but nobody can have the same muscles and feel for the machine the way he does.

Whoever this is, IT IS NOT SLOPPY! I'm so tired of know-it-all, wannabe "musicians," who are exactly what gave us suck "New Rock" and "Alternative". Ed is actually very sloppy player....compared to say, Vai or Eric Johnson...that's what makes his playing unique...if you been to a G3 show-you'll get the same show the next night...not so with VH...Eddie never plays the same thing twice...he's incapable of it..he's too creative.

How do you know? This song has been in circulation for years. And it has always been credited as an EVH song. I mean I'm not arguing with you, I just want to know how you know its not him. The tapping in the song has a common EVH interval and they're followed by his classic dives. Honestly, it wouldn't matter to me if it was him playing or not. I don't think this song is particularly impressive anyway.

I was a HUGE VH fan/collector for many many years and have never heard this, But i know for a fact that's not him playing, it's some German guy or something that's not very good. Eddie did play the theme to "Close Encounters Of The Third Kind" on the Balance tour during his solo with the purple EBMM with the Sustainer.
