It is actually easier to get higher by catching a surface away from the wall as opposed to the top of the wall. I can get about 2 feet higher doing that than I can with a basic wall run. I doubt I could manage this but I see how you were able to pull it off. Very nice!

yeah, the extra push back gives me about an extra half foot or so. Not too much but it definitely does help.

its all about speed and foot placement. Just gota work on em till you figure out the best height to step on the wall and can hit it at a sprint.
