  • Thanks for destroying the comment page with trolling instead of tribute Achen and mike.

  • Vietnam was over by the time I was born but I witnessed its after effects growing up in the 80's.

You would think that after the hell that was the Vietnam war - a war that the United States deserved to lose for its flagrant disregard for the rules of war and human rights - that America's citizens would never again succumb to the manipulation of its leaders.

    How wrong we were.

I have only one sentiment for Vietnam, it is the same sentiment I feel for the 2003 Iraq war: Hate.

  • I hate the Vietnam conflict. I hate what it did to us as a nation. I hate what it did to a generation of young men and women. I hate that we spent so much blood, sweat and tears on so little.

I hate those apologists who - to this day - continue to defend this war and its excesses and its evils out of a misguided desire to justify it.

Any other nation guilty of such crimes would deserve no less than to be destroyed, and yet we remain, continuing the same mistakes over and over.

  • mike palomino, you are truly an ass clown.

  • @achen342 What a thoughtful and insightful comment. Please - by all means - keep elucidating us with your wisdom. What other pearls do you want to share with us?

  • nope. the fact that you are an ass clown is the only pearl you'll get from me;)

  • @achen342 lol - foolish boy, I would rather be an ass clown than a parochial, war-mongering, wanna-be glory seeker with patriotic delusions of grandeur.

War is sweet to those who've never experienced it.

  • i live 3 times in vietnam and i hope american and vietnam gov. can be great friends, we both are strong lands. we need to help the people 1st.

  • I have been to the memorial wall several times. Two Uncles and several people I know have taken me with them to the Vietnam Memorial.

I still proudly fly the POW/MIA flag outside my house.

I am a peacetime Vet. However, I offer nothing but the utmost respect for EVERY name on that wall, and their brothers in arms that are still here.

    *Salute*
