If "Obamas America" had learned as much of its history, then we (germans) have of ours, there would not be as much racism, prejudgement and superficiality left.
I don't care about or blame anybody, who believes in "God", but what most so called "christians" are doing, is nothing then patronizing all others and that has absolutly NOTHING to do with "christianity" at all !

Unfortunately, Obama will go down as a sorry chapter in the history of America, Here is terrible as a President, but Keb Mo is da man and shall remain so !!!!
I , too was inspired that night. And I'm a middle aged Southern white guy.
I know we made the right decision that night , but with all the hate being generated from the right , who weren't ready for a Brand New America , I'm not as hopeful as I was two years ago. I hope Keb Mo hasn't been dis-illusioned like me , because we need more songs like this.
I wrote to President Barack Obama about this song-- This should be a National Treasure for America's-- New Change. I myself joined the U.S. Army when I was 17 years of age, then I came back knowing Liberty, Right to Life, Pursuit of Happiness. I was orphaned at almost 8 and left for dead at 11 when my step-father beat me... he was a heroin addict. I play in Natalie Merchant and Friends on the same Give Us Your Poor album as Keb' Mo'. Please pray for our President-- I do. Help change America.
It is sad how quickly Jesus followers forgot lost the simplicity of the central message of Jesus --Love (and seek justice for) your neighbor and love God through doing so. Dogma, doctrine and division were never part of Jesus' message, but we quickly overcomplicated things, as our spiritual ancestors allowed attention drift from what really matters. Hope is alive though, as we can reform the church and make Jesus' passionate message the driving force behind our lives.
What a beautiful heart and soul... this song deserves to be in our National Archive in Modern Day America presently as we know it. Keb' Mo' has lived in L.A., Calif., near Culver City where I was born. He has participated in helping America's Homeless by playing on the same album I am on. I am Blues-guitarist Montreville in Natalie Merchant and Friends/(2006-7). This song speaks well for the land of the free. Pres. Obama should make this song Washington's song for all Americans to feel. Thanks
@toozblues In addition I would like to invite all listeners to the album and in part shared here on YouTube. The album is GIVE US YOUR POOR, and just put our groups's name in the search window there/// Natalie Merchant and Friends and enjoy our tune involving the singer-songwriter, Nichole Cooper then 15. You know if people give out of their needs, anything good is possible. Bonnie Raitt, Bon Jovi and others are on this very album. Thanks, Montreville Blakely/ Blues-guitarist and friend
I wish you would have really listened to this song you all commented on...if you really listen you would all put down your hate...remember united we stand divided we fall...open your hearts...open your minds...heal your own wounds and give each other a chance. There is good and evil in all of us. BUT you have the choice to pick which one you want to use everyday. Don't be dumb choose love, good and happiness...listen to Keb again please and thank you...
so beautiful...I will be seeing mr. kevin Moore again this summer,,,In July...in sioux falls south Dakota at the Blues and Jazz fest....I can hardly wait....
I teach in an inner city school (Jersey City)and I have my kids listen to Keb Mo. They love him! He is not just a great song writer, he is an inspiration to younger generations. Thank you Kevin, for being a great American artist.
Mr. Kevin Moore has been one of my favorite artists for sometime. I do not however believe in Jebus or the Holy Spearmint. "God' will not save this country, the people will save it. We the people are supposed to have freedom of beliefs, but lately the Christian Right has been taking our rights away. This country was not founded on "Christian Beliefs" it was founded on FREEDOM OF RELIGION OR FREEDOM FROM IT, OUR CHOICE. But I digress, anything Keb Mo touches turns to gold.
The Christian Right poses no threat to you, and has taken NO rights away. I am a Christian..you are not. What are you so afraid of that we hold strong opinions and beliefs?
First off let me assure you I am not "afraid" of the Christian right. I am sick of them trying to run this country as they see fit. The last excuse for a President said he asked "God" what to do as far as going into an unprovoked war. You see your last President claims to be a Christian. This is where the Christian Right got us. Once again I am not "afraid"
of the Christian Right I am sick of them shoving their beliefs down everyone's throats.

Typical of a liberal...you got EXACTLY what you wanted. BUT, you just can't stop "hating"..it's in your DNA. I got my "Obama - NOT my president" bumper sticker in the mail today. Such childish crap from the left..when will you on the left grow up, and accept that sometimes you are wrong, inspite of your self-proclaimed moral superiority. Go Bush, Go God, Go America...land of the free, home of the brave soldiers who die daily so liberals can continue their hate rants.

Childish crap from the left and you got a sticker reading not my president? I understand your mentality with just that 1 statement. Let me say this to you my misguided friend. There are millions of people in this world and only a few human beings, you fall into the category of people. President Obama is a smart man and your Bush-isms are a thing of the past. The word hate can be summed up in two words Rush Limbaugh, your hero. A conservative not a Liberal. Hate comes from where?
I would like to state for the record I never said I was a "moral" person, but here are a few morals your Republican boys should follow. I don't go around preaching morals and then have my 17 year old daughter get knocked up. I don't preach homophobia then look for sex in bathrooms with men. I can go on and on about your parties lack of morals. Hey just like your Christian counterparts that molest choir boys. War is hate and the liberals didn't start the war. PEACE!!! Nough said.
@phnxbyrd everyone tries to push their beliefs down peoples throats like the TERRORISTS who bombed the trade center. every faith does it. its not like they are making you be christian just ignore them if you're sick of it. and yeah, Obama is definitely a sorry chapter in america unfortunately. the only people who have anything nice to say about him, are people who don't read, and/or only read rolling stone.
@hockeyyismylifeThat's the problem ignoring them does nothing standing up and fighting against them does.President Obama has done more to help this country in 18 months then anyone realizes.Go look for yourself just type in President Obamas accomplishments there is an itemized list over 100 things. I do read that is why I am informed and you are watching FOX NEWS too much.
I did not vote for Obama and don't agree with a lot of his policies, but as a human being I love him....not the agressive pro-choice beliefs of his. I love Keb Mo, have always loved this man's voice and pray for God's Will to be done. It's we the people under God that make America, not the president alone.
Well spoken words...I've seen Keb Mo' 3 times. HE's as real as it gets. I choose to listen and respect, though his politics are very different than mine.
Amen. Amen. "Let all those who do justice and love mercy say Amen." - Rev. Joseph Lowery, delivering the benediction at President Obama's inauguration
Thanks for a song that evokes powerful feelings, and brings joy to my heart. As a girl, I had a dream (too) and love that our country is finally moving in a positive dorection.
