They were the 555's, and they didn't hook worth a damn with that much power on tap.

MT's hook the best IMO, followed by BFG's, and then the Nitto's. The Nitto's do usually last the longest though.

@southjerseystang Maybe try the Toyo Proxes TQ's? I tried them out on my 2004 Whippled Mystichrome Rapist. I'm pushing around 600hp to the wheels with stock gearing and they hook up pretty well. The rubber compound is similar to the tires found on crotch rockets. They corner great too. Looks like I'll get around 9k mi (at $500/pair) out of them with moderate driving. No burn-outs, but hard acceleration at times. Just my 2 cents.

They were NItto DR, 305/35/18, and actually they really didn't hook worth a damn.

Best bet is a Mickey Thompson DR, they will wear quickly, but they are the best hooking DR out there IMO.

When this happens you can rev the engine freely with out the trans/car moving (kind of like putting it in neutral). then you electronically release the trans brake when you are at a good rpm just in time for the light to turn green on the "tree" and the car launches (kind of like poppin the clutch). I guess steve mcqueen invented it.
