Amos Oz never met nor interviewed Sharon. In fact, the so-called "interview" was a literary device taken from Oz's book "In the Land of Israel." In the English version, the interviewee's identity is not revealed, and is referred to as Z (Flamingo/Fontana 1983).
Apparently, Palestinian propagandists substituted Sharon's name for Z in the Davar interview. The description of Z does not fit Sharon, and at one point Z refers to Sharon, Begin and General Eitan.

This quote was supposedly from an interview with Ouze Merham. There is no such person. There was never such an interview. "Ouze" is not a Hebrew name. Miriam Sobh, a journalism student at the University of Illinois, circulated this quote repeatedly.
Do a quick google search with the name 'Ouze Merham' you will only find this quote (or proof of fabrication), you will not find anything else about this person. He never existed.

The interview, first appeared on Muslim websites in mid-2001 during the al-Aqsa Intifada, turned out to have been a hoax.
