  • LUKE DONALD , WITH the Prazza golf ball finder 2012 playing in the snow . PERFECT

  • his shirt is too big

  • he looks like stevie ray vaughan. thanks texasflood54

  • This "secret" doesn't help you hit shots closer really it just helps your strike or ball flight. You can still do this with an open or closed face and hit a bad shot.

  • he sounds like ur average england cricketer

  • His shirt has more pleats than his trousers. Good tips though

  • This has helped me tremendously. Great video. Thx

  • Simple,great drill and tip...

  • great simple tips

  • He has the longest arms in golf!

  • So many teachers say hit down....wrong !! you'll wind up digging the club into the ground and get a very low ball flight...actually you should have your hands only slightly ahead of ball at impact and try to hit the ground under the ball with the sole of club.

  • @Chipinjack So true it is all about impact position. Hitting down on the ball (like I have been attempting to do) only creates a huge divot and a fat shot. Now, I am focusing on impact rather than lag; the results are ten times better, utilizing this drill.

  • @Chipinjack the shaft should lean forward and the clubhead should be approaching the ball at a shallow angle. you only need to hit down enough to present the middle of the clubface to the ball, which ideally is only a few degrees down. maybe 5 degrees for wedges. SHALLOW is the key word. there is no other way to make ball first center face contact without hitting down some.

  • That polo shirt is a couple of sizes to big for him!!

  • @texaco121

Seen him in person and he's TINY.....I'm not sure they make shirts small enough.....hell maybe at baby gap.

  • he makes the swing so confusing... i hate it

  • haha a scoopy type of action

    leadbetter lingo

  • god his swing is just awful. 2:32 how does anyone have any business teaching a golf swing when their own looks like that?

  • @dschultz6072 His swing looks pretty good to me. You must be a 30 handicap. lol.

  • @stackleft nah. actually quite a bit lower. i just think his rhythm looks...well...not so rhythmical? i guess i'm not a fan of that quick tempo, either. some people like their cucumbers pickled, right?

  • couldn't care if he can't hit a golf ball I listened to him and one my first tornament!

  • This is a great video, and I appreciate it. Having said that, pause at 2:41

  • @mtriv111 Haha thats hysterical.Thanks for that.

  • @rtd1995

Wtf are you talking about? All I said was that disneyworld isn't in California

  • david leadbetter also known as the man who ruins swings please kill yourself

  • @steamingpoopfart really? so u think u can do better?

  • ...Why are his.... pants so high?

  • @NikeGolf118

Because he prefers to play with a wedgie!

  • You can practice this, and other swing drills, at home, one on one, interactively with David new 'My personal Golf Trainer' software. You practice and then get told exactly how well you did, or what you did wrong, and how to correct it, after all, as David says 'Only Perfect practice makes perfect', check it out .

  • His legs are way too long.

  • @MrRagnello17 He's wearing high waisted khaki's... it was a 90's thing.

  • pat test, not pta test,

  • every game i have more slices than five pizzas!

  • dear mr. leadbetter, pleated khakis went out in the late 90's. please discontinue wearing them.

    thks,

    mgmt

  • @senorchipotle maybe so but good crisp iron shots are still very much in fashion

  • @senorchipotle this is from the 90s retard

  • i slice it so much i'd be better off running a vasectomy clinic.

  • @hazzle34 Major problem with slicers is a terrible grip and swing, There are tons of videos on Youtube that will get rid of it for you.

  • Extra crispy.

  • Who uses a scoopy type action???

Only woman and kids playing for the first time!

Note to self-dont use a scoopy type action-haha

  • youd be suprised

  • Good tip! Thanks for sharing the vid!

  • the funny thing is he's not even a pga professional. lol, he has never taken a PTA test

  • Its because he has done most of his teaching in the european circuit.

  • I can do it all, but not all at once, Golf..

    Drive, chip and putts

  • This season my iron shots are really powerfull and high. (with an easy swing ofc ^^). Only thing is that I tend to push the ball a bit to the left (im lefty btw).

I think I doesnt finish my hip rotation..A solid and accurate 2nd shot can save you a LOT of useless shots around the green :)

Hope ill fix that soon erm.

  • I do that but sometimes my ball goes to the right, slice.

  • well that helped me definately! my shots were goin high but not far enough until i moved my hands in front of the ball on contact. cheers

  • its true what he is saying

  • I Sometimes Have Trouble Hitting Fat Shots.

  • You have trouble hitting fat shots? Why, it's easy to hit fat shots -- just be sure to hit the ground before the ball. Piece of cake.

  • @Jarmod why would you want to hit a fat shot?

  • @rtd1995 He doesn't have trouble hitting fat shots, he has trouble hitting good shots. It was a poor attempt at humor.

  • This guy is a golf god.

  • i REALLY doubt that.

  • Yeah I'm pretty sure he was a professional himself once.

  • hi could you have a look at my golf swing im fourteen years old!!

  • i went to the david leadbetter golf school in california when i was about 14. I don't know how expensive it was though, but it was awesome; i had a lot of fun and it really helped my swing. Plus his school is right across the street from disney world :-D.

  • disneyworld isnt in california =P

  • @hol1aa yeah it is u douche, disneyWORLD is the one in florida. tool

  • What does being 14 have to do with your swing?

  • He probably expects you to watch it and think that he's got the best swing in the world for that age

  • Yeah well im 14 and mine is much better yet it doesn't have as many views... hmm

  • your such a god i just got my H'cap down over these couple of months listing to what you had to say, cheers:)

  • DL, your'e my hero in teaching! I must leave my 36+ this summer.

  • I'm a bit confused. Here DL positions the ball towards the back off his stance, yet in his video on 'ball position' he says for EVERY CLUB position the ball about 2" inside the left heel, so what it it David?

  • It's a drill to get you to feel the proper position of the hands leading the clubhead through the strike. As you can see, he's making short swings with an abbreviated follow through to emphasize/ingrain the proper feel.

  • left hand must feel that it is over the left foot at impact!!!

  • Wont I leave my club open if I do this?

  • Yes, which is why you must have a stronger grip to keep the clubface square at impact. Otherwise yes, if you hold the club with a neutral grip, you'll hit the ball with an open face.

  • That is a good tip and I like Leadbetter's instructions. If you're swing is more around your body you can try to keep your left arm in perfect line with the club shaft and just move the ball back in your stance a little. Thats what I do and it works pretty well for me.

  • good tip
