Its when u listen to songs like this you think WTF has happepened to todays society where is this on the Radio. Nowhere, why cos everyone is a c*nt apart from us obv lol
@niekolas It has been recorded several times. There is a 85' Demo with "Fecal Matter", it was recorded in the Bleach Demo from Jan 88 with Dale Crover on the Drums and this is the version recorded with Chad Channing later in 1988 that ended up on the Sub Pop Sampler.
@yarden4011 I really don't know what's worse. People who use the term "grunge" or people who write it the wrong way. Or, let's see, people who reduce Kurt to an idiot-media-created word to designate seattle sound in the 90's.
I think Soundgarden's reformation brings about a new age of Grunge- we've suffered this Pop/R&B nonsense long enough. Hopefully we'll be hearing some more songs like this soon! Nirvana rocks!
where are you people who want grunge to come back at my bands shows we play grunge in milwaukee wisconsin if your from around here come look for ephemera we're recording an album and i'll put some online when its done
Kurt Cobain was truly an artist. He could paint a better picture with music better than Vincent Van Gogh could paint a portrait. This man was pure talent. What could take most bands a whole career to make a name for themselves, it took Kurt a mere record. Very few artist have the skill Kurt had.
People are so brainwashed with the "machine" that they don't realize what good music is, and that s any music that goes against the "machine" . I love grunge and cover a lot plus write originals but hard to bring this sound back with all the brain washed people just look who we elect in every year to run our countries so its not impossible to think that a little of this happens.
@VeryApe93 very cool little piece of music history i never heard about! jack definitely played a huge role in creating that seattle 'sub-pop' sound. he plays in a band now with my friend jamie called Kandi Coded.
grunge still lives on in music we listen to now. It isnt the clasic Nirvana, Meat puppets, Soundgarden, or Alice in Chains. But they can definatley try to get back to that amazing music we all love
It is true about it being better to make something new. Thats the whole point in "idea". What point is there to make a band that has nothing to show but what's already been heard or known?
Anyway, yeah... "making it big" comes with a personal ambition. But don't think that for a second, doing it for yourself and friends... without wanting to be known throughout the world for it, that it'll make you a better person than someone who does.
nope. unfortunately it is not. grunge existed partially based upon the timing. it was a finite thing destined to exist briefly and intensely. any semblance of its existence today is not grunge itself, but rather a ghost of what is truly grunge.
@dennisvanlith i don't either think that pearl jam is grunge. yeah grunge is just a commercial term, but you can hear an actual genre in melvins, nirvana, mudhoney, green river, screaming trees etc
@krauseysmix1 Don't be silly, They do play rock. And to say they don't is silly and clear you have no knowledge of music. I'm not saying they're better then Nirvana. But they are a good rock band.
Really cool version!!! Thanks for posting it, dude! I absolutely loved Kurt's double-tracked vocals...And there's also a very reconizable scream before the songs changes to the second part (E and G chords)...Nirvana rules! Not like those "posturing rock" we find nowadays...
Your welcome old grunge fan. And I totaly agree with the so called annoying "college rock" bands that rule the charts these days. Looks like we have to raise the new generation for the Grunge culture again... Grunge will come back one day...

sorry if this has been mentioned before (didn't feel like searching all the posts here), but i'm pretty sure the 2nd vocal track is actually jack endino.

''Dont look back and look for influence, just make somthing new, live your life now... Yano what i mean?''

You're saying any grunge band today is unable to make it big?
KakashiTheFirst 2 years ago
i wouldnt say it is impossible but sadly very Slim chances.

btw, i didnt mean Influence in the John Lennon quote it was ment to be:
''Dont look back and look and try to copy somthing else, just make somthing new, live your life now... Yano what i mean?''
birdy47 2 years ago
and aslo, i dont see why you would want to ''make it big''. I just find the glory in playing local venues with friends.

It is true about it being better to make something new. Thats the whole point in "idea". What point is there to make a band that has nothing to show but what's already been heard or known?
