Honestly, I do see some very obvious changes on these celebrities, but who can blame them? There's this pressure to fit this specific mold. Pop culture says you have to have narrow, thin noses, straight hair that can take a curl if needed, a tan without being too "tan," a big butt without being "fat," curves without having big, natural hips, and blonde hair no matter what race you are. You won't find natural beauty in Hollywood. PERIOD! I don't care who it is, they have had some work done!

Like, if Gabrielle Union got a nose job, she'd have no nose. It's already tiny, and it is possible to have a small nose and be Black. Those of the african Dispora have just as much range if not more than people of every other broad ethnic group.

You slam these Black entertainers for surgically appearing "less ethnic", when it is common practice in show business for pretty much anyone. It's a personal and professional choice for the performer, not anonymous comment posters on YouTube. If these pictures are altered, then what a waste of time. The statement at the end of this video is not fact, but of opinion. Who are we to say that their purpose of the surgery was to appear "less ethnic"? There could've been an accident that we don't know of that requires surgery (i.e. Michael Jackson's FIRST nose job) or maybe it was just for cosmetic reasons! Sometimes opting for plastic surgery doesn't mean you're self-hating or trying to get ahead. Also, some of the harshest criticism of our african features come from other black people including family members! I believe most people opt for surgery for themselves. If you want to anglicize a feature it doesn't mean you aren't proud to be black. Part of healing as a race also means we need to stop being so derisive towards each other for choices we make.
Some of these women haven't even had surgery. Amerie and Kelly have admitted to having gone under the knife but that doesn't change how credible they are as a person or artist. If an average everyday black person gets a nose job then it's whatever, but if a black celebrity does it then they are automatically considered a sellout and disclaiming their heritage. It's their choice! And as far as the pictures go, lighting, camera angles and makeup play a big part in how someone's features look.

For example on the first side by side with Alicia Keyes, pause and you can see that there is darker make up between her eyes and down the bridge of the nose. There is highlighting on the bridge of the nose which attracts the light and make her nose appear not as wide.

Honestly, I do see some very obvious changes on these celebrities, but who can blame them? There's this pressure to fit this specific mold. Pop culture says you have to have narrow, thin noses, straight hair that can take a curl if needed, a tan without being too "tan," a big butt without being "fat," curves without having big, natural hips, and blonde hair no matter what race you are. Like, if Gabrielle Union got a nose job, she'd have no nose. It's already tiny, and it is possible to have a small nose and be Black. Those of the african Dispora have just as much range if not more than people of every other broad ethnic group.

Who are we to say that their purpose of the surgery was to appear "less ethnic"? Also, some of the harshest criticism of our african features come from other black people including family members! I believe most people opt for surgery for themselves. Some of these women haven't even had surgery. Amerie and Kelly have admitted to having gone under the knife but that doesn't change how credible they are as a person or artist. If an average everyday black person gets a nose job then it's whatever, but if a black celebrity does it then they are automatically considered a sellout and disclaiming their heritage. No one talks about how so many non blacks are getting hydro shots, butt implants, fat transfer to the rear, or wear butt pads to resemble the buttocks of most black women. Or the lip injections for full lips to resemble full lips like most black people. If black women have fake hair, some non-blacks have hair extensions and/or fake body parts or body enhancements. My point is no one race is perfect....NONE. And if you think there is a perfect race, please supply me with facts.

When an African American aka black person doesn't know their true African history, not a romanticized history, they tend to dislike their features, color and hair texture. Especially if they are dark skinned. They will marry or have children by someone other than a black person to make sure the child does not have black features. So what people get nose jobs or wear hair weave, extensions, or lace front wigs.... ya'll go to their concerts, buy their music, or pay to see their movies...those artist are getting paid, using the money they make off you to look good. @uihdskjdns Nope I'm a White Girl! You're obviously a guy who knows nothing about make up. You can use shadow to alter the appearance of the nose...especially to make a nose seem longer. For example on the first side by side with Alicia Keyes, pause and you can see that there is darker make up between her eyes and down the bridge of the nose. There is highlighting on the bridge of the nose which attracts the light and make her nose appear not as wide.

First of all who cares what anyone does to their own bodies. Second plastic surgery was not invented for black women, Marilyn Monroe had plastic surgery to change her nose and hairline. When white women do things to alter their looks you don't see or hear some white man putting them down for it.
