this is a beautiful piece of music. I also really liked the show someday when I have the time I will go back and watch the series from begining to end
I watched the finale at 5 in the morning, so that the UK could watch it the same time as the US! Anywho, I was a tired, emotional wreck at the end.. but in a good way! xD I turned the TV off knowing that was the best 6 years of my life <3
I love these lost music videos, all the comments are virtually troll free, just people who really loved the show, and want to express their feelings about it. Perfect.
My opinion is that this music not only enhances, but takes to a higher level our true appreciation of the amazing series. :) and haha I love how Vincent's bark is in there @ 6:21.
I will never forget Lost for the rest of my life it holds some where close to my heart and this music just represents the beautiful story and characters we have known for 6 years.. Wow... :(
The first three seasons of the series I've seen about 3 years ago, then I couldn't o finish rest of series because it's was so confusing, but a few days ago I started the past three seasons and now after the sixth final season i'm like a mess in my head, none movie or series ever brought me to tears, today i cried like a baby ... pure madness ... flashbacks ... something beautiful .. all have to watch this series..whole time listening to the final song ...
Very, VERY well done. I love how you spliced the full music in from the episode where there was no dialogue. This is gonna be my first purchase the day of September 14th.
Therehas never been and therewill neverbe a bettershow thanthis one.The endingwas great, andthe explanation ofwhy many peopledidnt like itis becausethey are what theshow calls, man ofscience, the need answersfor everything, andthey justcant enjoyhow beautifulthe showwas, and willalways be,and forus, the onesthat lovedthe ending, that wecried,we are manof faith,we believein life, indestiny, and wedont needanswers foreverything, causewe there are not answers for everything we have tomanage with whatwe have
I've been searching for this, SO glad I finally found it! The music is so beautiful, I know some people really hated the end of Lost but I loved it, thought it was very moving. The very end where Jack laid down to die and the dog came running out had me in tears!
i think people are mad at the lost ending cause it didnt turn out to be an Alternate timeline like we all wanted it to be. I guess faraday died for nothing.
@ultimateguitar553 I honestly think some people didn't like the ending because there was no giant "ah-ha!" moment that made everything make perfect sense, like it was all a dream, or the island was a giant machine, etc. I liked it, myself. What made the island special was what "Across the Sea" answered. "The End" was about closure with all of the characters
@Shane2352 I agree. In my opinion, the island was just the personification of the force that drove them together to accept and become at peace with their pasts. While the island was a crucial part of the show, I believe the island was more of symbol if not anything else; a place where "miracles happened".
@Mortalitus93 The island was a metaphor for life. A lot in the show backs this up, like the fact that it begins with Jack's eye opening and ends with Jack's eye closing. Also if you factor this metaphor into Across the Sea that episode makes 100x more sense and you see what the creators intended there. Also hints why the creators took the artistic license of only showing people who were on the island in the church, and not people like Helen.
@SDKfilmproduction I never actually thought of it in that particular sense. I've been trying for a while to figure out the significance of mirroring the opening scene of the show (other than the fact that it obviously was a really neat, sensible way to end it), and that's a good way of explaining it. While it was obvious after Across the Sea that the island was an influential force in life, I never really thought it to represent it in the final moments of the show.
@Mortalitus93 the beginning of the series, (jack opening his eyes) is actually him shutting his eyes to the meaning of life. He is fighting with all his being to keep people alive, when death is just a part of live, nothing to be feared. Jack closing his eyes at the end, signified that he was actually opening his eyes, he now realizes the truth. He isn't fighting anymore. He let go :)
@strutnoodle That's a neat way to look at it too! And I think refusal to accept/and inevitable acceptance does not only pertain to death. Jack finally came to terms with a lot in those final moments after he finally fulfilled his part in the island, and 'let go'.
@Mortalitus93 Exactly. Lost is very character-driven show, I thought it seemed quite obvious with the fact that almost every episode is centered on character(s) and their previous/future lives. Fair enough, the mysterious island did make the show unique, and the reason why people watched it. But nonetheless, I don't see why people think the ending was a "cop out", everything about was great, writing, acting and the music (obviously).
To everyone saying God enable Giacchino to do this... Giacchino was the real genius behind this great music. Give some credit where it's deserved.

The best way to watch Lost and understand it, is to buy(download) all discs and then watch a couple of episodes everyday.

@Mortalitus93 If anything Lost IS about the characters, which is why the afterlife ending was perfect.
