It is stupid of the US to recreate a show just to have Americans acting in it. This show, Skins, The Office, Queer As Folk etc. Is it really so difficult to listen to a British accent, all you Americans reading this? Seems like such a waste of money when the original shows are perfectly good to watch as they are and certainly don't need improving (which you usually don't manage to do anyway).
This version looks okay. I like the US version better. It's my eyes and ears that have to enjoy it, so please do not attack me for saying I like the US version.

It's alot better than it looks in this promo, i think Aidan(Mitchell) is hot as hell even though i usual don't care much for body hair it doesnt seem like he has as much to me as some people are saying, George is cute and funny who cares if he's not super huge, tough, or masculine you don't have to be that to be a werewolf, and I think that people can see Annie because she's found friends and it's kind of tieing her more to this world and making her a little more human-like
Shows like this and the equally brilliant True Blood prove that dramas about vampires and werewolves don't have to be wet teenage Emo stuff (no offence to the Bella and Edward fans).
This is gothic drama of high quality for grown-ups.

I think what some are forgetting, or neglecting to note is that it is the creator who decided how he wanted the u.s. version to be. Without him, and his vision for a u.s. version, syfy would never have been given the chance to show such a great show. I pesonally liked how Toby Whitehouse made the u.s. version slightly different from his original. we see the same happen when books are made into film. To this end, I watch and support both shows. Its better than what the other tv nets offer.
the american one is better than people are giving credit for , the US version did a better job of connecting the plot. The acting and overall feel was better in the UK version though. Its kind of dissapointing because the UK version is SO good but still could of been so much better if they just did a couple things that the US version was able to do , overall i would say UK version is better though , its EXACTLY like SKINS from UK to US how there were good things and bad things about each......

In "BH" itself, the actors were given space to fully explore their strengths/ weaknesses through their own experiences. The whole thing just gives one the feeling that it's possible to have all these uncommon - "fictional" is more of the correct term - characters to walk amongst us in life. And it didn't blindly follow the hype of certain genre, but rather, it focused more on the dilemmas different people are facing.
However after watching the whole of the "Being Human" installations, I started to look out for their English-made films/ dramas that are on the bandwagons to woo audience who watch horror/ supernatural genre. And to my surprise - there were at least 2 other tv dramas that were visually-interesting with good storytelling pace & good lineup of actors (who seemed to pack more punches than some of the mainstream film actors nowadays). Some people are really upping their stakes here & it pays off!
I stumbled upon "Being Human" by accident and I liked the way they kept an interesting spin up till the run to its third season. To be honest, the only decent, horror film I only remember is "28 Days Later" (yup, the one that took on the zombie hype. I am more used to the Americans horror flicks since they produced more of this genre than that of other countries.).

just watched first couple of episodes of season one of the bbc version not as good as i thought so dumb that the "ghost" can be seen by any old body and she can touch anything so where is the ghost part lame? i like the american ghost character sooo much better especially when she ghosts like nightcrawler however the british actors are way cool except when the wolf guy screams like some 12 year old girl the us version just has better effects but i love the accents in the british version

@veebones I'm watching both. BBCA plays the UK version, and SyFy has the US. I suggest you watch the UK first, then come back and watch the US. The stories have splintered and are different. Good or bad, they are each similar and different. I like both, personally, although the UK version does seem a bit better.

I don't think Mitchell has fully died, Herick says that a stake through the heart has no coming back whereas the thousand year old vampire basically makes a statement of not living that long without learning a trick or two? There are some vampiristic beliefs in pouring fresh blood over the ashes of a slain vampire will slowly bring them back, so maybe its wishfull thinking but i do not believe Mitchell has left for good.

Without a doubt my favourite drama series right now. no idea why it wasnt just aired like this in the US. Instead they made their own one and its shit. This isnt another lame UK v US, its just its not in a diff language. No need for a remake when its brilliant o-0
@elinheartstristin this is brilliant! Very typical of modern BBC drama's with excellent acting and just the right amount of humor to make it enjoyable. I watch it without fail and prefer it to True Blood, I like that too but Being Human has a realism to it where as True Blood is like a soap opera.
I have watched the UK version and 5 episodes of the US version. The characters are much more developed in the UK version. I get that they care for one another. Stopped watching the US version. Can't wait for the next UK episode.
I agree with most of you. The UK version is 65 million trillion times better than the US. I just feel like the acting is sub-par in the US. In the UK version, you can REALLY feel it, especially in the intensely emotional moments. They make you want to cry along with them.
I have been watching the Canadian/US version of Being Human and love it. But, recently I have been watching more into the BBC Being Human and even though the Canadian/US version is really good. The BBC has to be the best! And I was glad to hear that the guy who plays Aidan loves it to. And thought it was something like a role model to him.
Everyone who keeps crying over remakes needs to shut the fuck up and quit being such bathetic little whiners. Remakes are usually done by the original creators of the show so they can reach a bigger crowd and get more money. Very few people knew of this show, the Office, or blank got talent, until it was remade here. Simon Cowell brought over American Idol, Ricky Gervias brought over the office, both of which have been hugely successful. Stop viewing videos just to bitch.
those talking about a remake being better, can I just point out that hundreds of British shows end up being remade by other nations (especially U.S) and usually completely suck? When the US tv Executives change about stuff to make it more main stream, they take away from the story. They get an actor that looks all Twilight, figuring it would help but it actually doesn't. The UK is much darker...e.i. seen Jekyll series (pure genius..can't stop watching).

just watched first couple of episodes of season one of the bbc version not as good as i thought so dumb that the "ghost" can be seen by any old body and she can touch anything so where is the ghost part lame? i like the american ghost character sooo much better especially when she ghosts like nightcrawler however the british actors are way cool except when the wolf guy screams like some 12 year old girl the us version just has better effects but i love the accents in the british version

@veebones I'm watching both. BBCA plays the UK version, and SyFy has the US. I suggest you watch the UK first, then come back and watch the US. The stories have splintered and are different. Good or bad, they are each similar and different. I like both, personally, although the UK version does seem a bit better.

I don't think Mitchell has fully died, Herick says that a stake through the heart has no coming back whereas the thousand year old vampire basically makes a statement of not living that long without learning a trick or two? There are some vampiristic beliefs in pouring fresh blood over the ashes of a slain vampire will slowly bring them back, so maybe its wishfull thinking but i do not believe Mitchell has left for good.

@elinheartstristin this is brilliant! Very typical of modern BBC drama's with excellent acting and just the right amount of humor to make it enjoyable. I watch it without fail and prefer it to True Blood, I like that too but Being Human has a realism to it where as True Blood is like a soap opera.

I have watched the UK version and 5 episodes of the US version. The characters are much more developed in the UK version. I get that they care for one another. Stopped watching the US version. Can't wait for the next UK episode.

I watch and like both versions but I prefer the BBC. There are things about both that I enjoy.
I don’t know if it was meant to be played this way, but it’s clear that Mitchell and Annie have romantic chemistry while Aiden and Sally don’t.
I like the friendships established on both versions but I think what sways me in the direction of the BBC is how protective Mitchell is of Annie.
The US version is just getting started so I have something to look forward to.

I agree with most of you. The UK version is 65 million trillion times better than the US. I just feel like the acting is sub-par in the US. In the UK version, you can REALLY feel it, especially in the intensely emotional moments. They make you want to cry along with them.

I have been watching the Canadian/US version of Being Human and love it. But, recently I have been watching more into the BBC Being Human and even though the Canadian/US version is really good. The BBC has to be the best! And I was glad to hear that the guy who plays Aidan loves it to. And thought it was something like a role model to him.

Remakes are usually done by the original creators of the show so they can reach a bigger crowd and get more money. Very few people knew of this show, the Office, or blank got talent, until it was remade here. Simon Cowell brought over American Idol, Ricky Gervias brought over the office, both of which have been hugely successful. Stop viewing videos just to bitch.

those talking about a remake being better, can I just point out that hundreds of British shows end up being remade by other nations (especially U.S) and usually completely suck? If you are gonna complain, complain about a show you came up with originally and we stole....not sure theres many but at least I could understand your objections :) The original Being Human is amazing - its brilliantly acted and the stories are very realistic and the issues tackled are all thought provoking. Most women do not like the waxed, tanned and preened to within an inch of their life looking men that are on most american tv shows. If a man spends more time in front of the mirror than a woman its a huge turn off. I've never seen the UK version until Syfy introduced this interesting show; I watched the US one and then looked up the UK and I found both very entertaining to watch in their own ways. @Alientrips I agree that the UK (Original) version is way better. Please don't bog down on us Canadians, it's filmed here but for the US Syfy channel. When the US tv Executives change about stuff to make it more main stream, they take away from the story. They get an actor that looks all Twilight, figuring it would help but it actually doesn't. The UK is much darker...e.i. seen Jekyll series (pure genius..can't stop watching).
