I have no idea as to how I missed this the first time around. I just found another video to add to "Julietjeske's No Offense but you deserve to be killed - from Miss California." It is:
"Anyone who buys her book is supporting a woman who is actually the opposite of everything she claims to be," the statement went on to say. "I sincerely hope she is able to get the psychological help I believe she has shown to clearly need."
Keith Lewis, executive director of Miss California USA and Miss California Teen USA, released a statement last Thursday:
"The public is finally getting a glimpse of the real Carrie Prejean who lives in her own delusional world," he said. "The childish behavior, her negative attitude, the sarcasm and condescending tone, ...th...e disrespect and continual lying she is demonstrating now is only a fraction of what we endured during her reign and after."
if she would have represented she be a laughing stock miss usa nude pictures and a sex tape, she's unfit to wear that crown, she's just a porn star in the making
What I find hilarious is that the republicans are touting her as a "role model" to recruit young folks. HA! She's inane, vapid, inarticulate, uneducated, unsuccessful, irresponsible talentless twit with absolutely no political savvy at all. Yes, that's right, she's the new ROLE MODEL!
Does this surprise anyone? It shouldn't, as she's, um, ANTI-GAY. As we all know, that is the only qualification necessary to lead the entire U.S. of A. according to the republifreaks.
Why are you dopes arguing about gay marriage? She is too vapid to even know where she stands on the topic and her opinion is irrelevant to any cogent conversation.
What we DO know about Carrie Prejean is that she is unabashedly tone deaf and not afraid to make a prat of herself.
check out my vidz i need 500 hits in 30 days if you want to see more i havetwo up right now and more coming within the next week and i know they are not the greatest qaulity but this is only my first step so hit em up rate and comment!!!!
I wonder why she doesn't just crawl under a rock somewhere until everyone has forgotten who she is...why does she keep going out in public and embarassing herself?
Please ignore the question I posed to you in my last comment. The answer is obviously 'no'. (Anyone who uses profanity instead of strong arguments isn't very intelligent, IMHO)
Wow, listen to all that 'tolerance'. I love how hypocritical gays are. You people always whine and moan about personal attacks, yet you go around calling people "ignorant useless brainless bitch" just because they disagree with you. (BTW, that kind of 4th grade language says more about you than anyone else)
Wanna bet that if I called you "stupid fa****", "dumb dy**", or "fu*** packer", you'd be screaming bloody murder? Don't worry though, I have something called class (which you don't).
Stock argument no. 5: The intolerance of gay people
That argument is the same one an abuser will try to use against the one he is abusing. Yea, we see through that. A man will hit a woman and the moment the woman strikes back, he starts accusing her of abuse.
Gay people have been the victims of murder, oppression, beatings and calumnies. The law and the bible has been used against us for hundreds of years. What sector of the population championed this kind of behavior against gay people?
Are you saying that we were being tolerant every time one of us was killed like a dog, or bashed with a 2X4, or bullied in school, or thrown out of our homes at 15, or lost our families, jobs, apartments, careers, salaries, friends etc. and we didnt say anything? Are you saying that now that we are not taking your abuse we are NOW being intolerant? Truly, are you expecting that argument to stick?
Have you ever heard of the phrase "You reap what you sow"?
Yes, because no one here has killed any gay people, Einstein. But please keep up your hate speech.
This is the whole reason why you intolerant gays have lost in all 30 states where gay marriage has come to a direct vote with the people. The only way you bigots can win is when state legislatures thwart the people's voice.
But you intolerant bigots can't silence the people forever. We won't allow you people to become tyrants.
Read, dude, ask your gay acquaintances. were there any laws that made you having sex with your significant other a crime? Are there any laws that prevent you from serving your country? Are there any laws that prevent you from marrying anyone of your own CHOOSING?
Dude, you have to think, ask, research, get out of the bubble and meet people who are living it every day and ask them how it feels, how it looks like.
There's only one problem, genius. Carrie never murdered, beat, or abused any gay people. All she did was disagree with YOUR opinion, and apparently one can never disagree with gays.
Memorable quotes:
Martin Luther King (great orator) - "I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear."
Gandhi (great leader) - "Anger is the enemy of non-violence and pride is a monster that swallows it up."
What can I say, they are better than me; guilty as charged.
I do not owe her any respect or any pity besides what she has shown for me; which was none. She sought to impose her opinion on an entire class of people based on 5 bible verses; 4 of them that have been disproved for decades.
So, if you want to make her a martyr, go ahead. That is your right as much as it is my right to call her hypocrisy.
"I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear."
are we talking about the love that many churches display when they call for the distruction of gay people? What about when they call people abomination and all those names?
"Anger is the enemy of non-violence and pride is a monster that swallows it up."
Are talking about the same humility that is displayed by those who claim to "love the sinner and hate the sin" even though there is nothing like that in the bible? Are we talking about the same humility that many of the so called "moral" people display when having affairs?
You disagree with "hate the sin, love the sinner"???? I mean, you have every right to disagree, but man...
As for affairs, people who have them are not moral. But again, what does this have to do with Carrie Prejean? She never had any affairs. Heck, she's not even married.
So talking about the bible and going on and on about her campaign about saving marriage while all along exposing her breast to a camera was a good thing that didn't make her look like a hypocrite? Come on...
Hate the sin love the sinner is a legalism that we use to explain our bigotry. The bible says nothing about that. As a matter of fact, Jesus didn't make any distinctions so we wouldn't either. Are we following the example he set for? or are we separating into us vs. them? Think about that.
Please now, Perez Hilton never asked her about the Bible, yet she was immediately attacked before the pageant even ended.
Also I can't believe you have such a problem with an exposed breast. Just curious, do you know who Michelangelo was? He was a gay guy who loved god and also made a famous sculpture of a naked guy. But he's a hypocrite too, huh?
BTW, I have no idea what your point is in the second paragraph. Jesus was not a bigot, yet there is no evidence that he supported gay marriage.
But the problem here is the context. She was the one who brought up the bible. So the moment she did, it was fair to hold it to that standard.
Michaelangelo might have done art. Did you see the semi-pornographic shots she took? Are they in keeping with her bible's standards of decency and modesty? She was the one who said that she answered to a higher power, not me. So what is wrong with holding her to that standard?
I just listened to her answer again here on YouTube. She didn't mention the Bible, yet she was attacked immediately after her answer.
"Did you see the semi-pornographic paintings by Michelangelo? Are they in keeping with the Bible's standards of decency and modesty? How come you refuse to hold a gay man to the same standards as a straight woman?"
She was attacked because people did not expect such stupidity coming from her. I don't this it was all her fault. She should have been coached by Miss CA Inc on a suitable answer; just like every politician is coached on Incendiary questions 101. Basic.
Funny, Cathy's shots would not be published in any art magazine but Michaelangelo's would. What does that tell you?
Dude, good talking to you but the hubby is pissed that I am here and not helping with the move. TTYL.
More personal attacks. (And you were making progress earlier, but I guess it's back to square one for you. You really need to stop the hate speech.)
"She should have been coached..."
...to say what YOU want her to say??? Man, now you people are trying to control the thoughts and words of others. Scary. I guess George Orwell was right...
It was stupid. Her answer was heartfelt but it was a stupid action. being a beauty queen is like being a politician. Sometimes you have to hide your true feeling in order not to offend and hurt people. That is "Dealing with a sticky question 101" She can hold her opinion for all eternity, exposing it in such a public forum was a stupid move because it showed that she was not savvy enough to know when to talk and when to not, smile and look pretty.
You are not getting it, so let me give you an example of an answer that I think would have represented her and still would have not offended too many people:
"You know, I come from a very conservative family and I believe that marriage is between a man and a woman. That being said, i believe that we all have the right to lobby the government and i support gay people's right to lobby the government to seek changes that will make them happy."
I agree, that's a good answer, but unfortunately it doesn't address Perez Hilton's question. She was specifically asked if gay marriage should be legal in other states (she thinks not) and then asked why or why not.
She probably could have gotten away with your answer though, but I do admire her for tackling the question head-on with honesty and integrity. She's got a lot of character.
Of course, because it's not a pageant which is a public event. If you think people should willingly lie on stage in public like that, then you're entitled to that opinion.
Are you saying that straight people have been the victims of gay intolerance all along? and that you have always minded your own business and never used your collective power to create fear and intolerance in the laws? Are you saying that the whole "gay panic defense" so popular these days is a fallacy?
Man, we've been talking for hours now, do you really think this argument will fly?
Thank you for proving my point. Yes, I would agree that straight people have seen a surge in being the recipients of gays anger.
We have been there for hundreds of years. When do WE get to nip it in the butt? You've been on the receiving end for 10, what do we do about the other 900 years or so?
What are you talking about? You just agreed with MY point. Straight people don't deserve to be harassed by gays. Also, I've always stated that I dondemn violence on BOTH sides.
I'm not even going to answer that. You need to talk to your gay friends and or acquaintances and get schooled on that. You need to learn how it looks like in 2009. It is not going to look the same, but it happens.
I'm serious, man. There is no discrimination against gays in this day and age. None at all. Gay people seem to want to put 'oppression' under new management so that they can "get even" with the rest of us.
Yes, since 95% of people are straight, there are obviously more objective straight people than gay people. I wish gays would be more tolerant of others, like Elton John. He said, "Heterosexual people get married. We can have civil partnerships."
Now there's a gay guy who knows what he's talking about.
then what do you say about straight people who believe that civil unions are unconstitutional and that gays should have full marriage rights, including the name?
It took Elizabeth Cady Stanton nearly 100 years to see her dream a reality. I'm sure she was angry a lot because it would not happen sooner. How and why should it be any different to me?
Of course I am angry, but that does not mean that marriage equality will never happen. it just means that I am being realistic as to the difficult battles ahead and reacting to the fact that i would rather see it NOW than in 50 years.
So are you ready to concede that after hundreds of years of abusing gay people it was only a matter of time before straight people tasted their won medicine?
No, it proves my point that gay people are as much as bigots as the people they criticize. Not only that, they are hypocrites, which makes them worse.
Whatever. Call me all you want. A bigot can not call anyone a bigot.
Straight people might want to call and cry all they want about the "intolerance of gay people" but I said it before and i will say it a thousand times: YOU REAR WHAT YOU SOW.
after 900 years of persecution, it is time that straight people get a taste of their medicine.
Call it whatever you want, Cry, for all I & we care. Straight people are reaping what they sowed. Plain & simple.
Many of the world's tyrants were gay or believed to be-Alexander the Great (aka A the Gay), Julius Ceasar (& more evil Romans), Hitler,Sodom & Gomorrah leaders,Jezebel?, etc.On the Web: "I am left w/ the impression that Napoleon was either bi-sexual or a hidden homosexual-interesting thought no?Incidently Hitler was also from the bendergender & of course Julius Ceasar.Does this mean all great tyrants were gay? This would throw all our manly visions of wargaming up the poopschute if this was true
But gay people deserve to be harassed by straights? Straight people have been harassing gay people for hundreds of year and the best straight people can do is cry because they have been on the receiving end of 6-7 years?
If that's true, then it was wrong. But for every incident like that, I bet there are 5 incidents of harassment against straight people. (For example, religious people are constantly mocked in cities like S.F., on television, in the newspaper, etc.)
Come to think of it, religious people face lots more discrimination in 2009 than gays by far.
Have you never been in a sticky situation where it was loose-loose and you had to bullshit your way out of it? She was in that situation and her handlers are as much to blame for not p-reparing her for the eventuality.
Come on, she was from CA! She and the organization should have expected that question and she should have discussed this with the Miss CA people and find a suitable answer that represented herself and did not offend people, JUST LIKE ANY POLITICIAN WOULD DO.
I still don't get your point. Your handlers haven't prepared you either, since you've said many offensive things about religious people. So you're guilty of the same thing, right?
"Come on, she was from CA!"
And Californians (smartly) passed Prop 8, so they DO agree with her. It would have offended them if she had lied (as you suggested).
Californians passed that law under fear. Look at the campaign that was put, full of misinformation and fear. To be honest, that law will be sent to the trash, i just hope it will be Californians who do it. They have the right to receive real information and vote on the issue from a reality based campaign, not one of fear.
Gay people don't hate religion, at least many that I have talked to. Atheists do, and in those there are gay and straights.
Gay people hate the use of the bible to create laws that will interfere with out constitutional guarantee of pursue of happiness as we see it fit.
We know that people will not like what we do on religious grounds, it is when the bible is used to justify persecution and prosecution that we draw the line.
Drop the line that gay people are bigots, I don't buy it.
And that would be the pot calling the kettle black. Hatred comes from both points.
I'm just asking, who started it? And who is truly defending themselves?
Straight people can not collectively cry because gay people are showing anger over the hundreds of years that we have been the object of persecution. That is just not a valid argument.
Glad to see that you've FINALLY admitted that gays can be hateful too.
"And who is truly defending themselves?"
Not you. She never even spoke to you, yet you call her mean, nasty names like "ignorant useless bigoted b****". So classy of you. (BTW, you weren't even around 100 years ago, so you can't complain about being persecuted back then)
Hey guy, I was using YOUR standard--you know, the standard that gay people use about calling people 'bigots' just because they disagree with them.
"Fact is that tenore23 talked about straight people, and as a straight person he talked about me when he said "ignorant useless bigoted b****", even if he didn't mention me by name."
I said she is, and as not nice as that might've been, i was talking about her, unless you are a woman (I have assumed you are a male) and in that case, if you are a woman, I can see why you felt alluded to.
If "I believe that marriage is between a man and a woman" offends you, then you need to be more tolerant of other people's views. It's not like she called you a "stupid fa***" (which in fact would have been offensive). Don't be so sensitive.
I don't see opposing gay marriage as abuse. It is the vitriol that comes with it, and the basis for some of the opposition. I would fight just as strong if there was a law that was passed that made it illegal for people to oppose gay marriage.
But the fact still remains that it should not be the ignorant masses who decide who gets a right and who doesn't. As a character in one of my favorite plays would say; "Today for you, tomorrow for me."
Jesus was seeing talking and partying with homosexuals, thieves, prostitutes, assassins and the worse of the worse. Is that what the modern church is doing?
Seriously, the pharisees were the ones using loopholes in the law to persecute and prosecute, to elevate themselves as pure. Do you see any correlations?
If Jesus didn't see or make any distinction withing sinners, what do you think we need to do?
You still didn't address my point. Jesus never endorsed gay marriage. (And gays are simply not prosecuted under anti-sodomy laws anymore. Weak example.)
Look at the circumstances of that: A gay couple was found in the heat of passion in their own home in TX and the state prosecuted them under their sodomy laws. They fought back all the way to the SCOUTS and they won. This sounds like something that happened 30 years ago, but no, it happened a mere 3-5 years ago. Look it up, research. I think it was Brown vs Texas.
That's funny, you tell me to "look it up", but YOU can't even get the name straight. (It was Lawrence v. Texas, and the incident took place 11 years ago)
If you can only come up with _one_ incident in 11 years, then I think this proves my point that America is a whole lot more tolerant than you give us credit for.
Thanks for the correction. I am trying to get out of here but the conversation is interesting enough. My hubby is pissed.
i agree with you, the USA is a lot more tolerant, but it is not tolerance what we want. I do not need to be tolerated (not even when i am being a bitch) i want to be treated with the respect that i am accorded by the constitution.
I do not expect any christian to agree with me or to like me. I expect my government to be blind when applying the law and when creating it.
You can marry anyone of your own choosing, i should have the same right. If you choose to marry a woman and the government is OK with that then I should be allowed to marry my BF without any opposition of the government.
Before your bring up Heidi Clum (hot as all hell, as far as i am concerned). Let me remind you that polygamy is still practiced today. If Heidy and Seal were OK with you joining, there is no law against poli-amorous relationship, just can't make it official.
Man, you just completely ignored my previous comment. I CANNOT marry anyone of my choosing. First off, straight men can _only_ marry a woman, and second, we can't break any laws against bigamy.
"there is no law against poli-amorous relationship [sic], just can't make it official."
That's exactly how I feel about gay marriage. I would be 100% for it as long as it's not "made official".
The day you choose to marry a man, that day you will be gay. You would NOT choose to marry a man so it is easy for you to ignore the unfairness of your statement. A straight man would ONLY want to marry a woman, so your argument is moot.
You can feel however you want about gay marriage. Fact is that there will be a time when our grankids would look back and wonder what all the fuzz was about.
You are very right. So if this is about procreation why didn't the CA amendment read something like this:
"In order to protect the sacred marriage institution and the procreation responsibilities of the partners, marriage in this state shall consist of a man and a woman of procreation age, who, having been tested, can prove they can procreate. "
Now you've just proven my point. Muslims and Mormons in the US gave up polygamy because the people didn't want it. They didn't go whining like children about being the victims of "hate" and "bigotry".
They basically said, "Well, America doesn't want polygamy, so we have to give it up." Too bad gays can't follow their lead.
Mormons did not give up polygamy! They still practice, just not the mainstream ones.
Why should I give up my happiness because it makes you uncomfortable? Would you give up your wife/GF and kids because it makes gay people uncomfortable?
Do you not see that the majority MUST make sure they are not infringing in the rights of the minority even when the behavior of the minority is unpopular or gives you the cooties?
You completely missed my point (again). Mormons do not force me to recognize their polygamous marriages. They are very respectful people and live in happiness in their relationships and don't worry about what others think. (Kinda like how gays ought to be)
"Would you give up your wife/GF..."
No, because it fits the 2000-year-old definition of marriage.
Marriage licenses, hunting licenses, drivers licenses, etc. are not a right.
Wrong on both points. The SCOUTS found that marriage is a basic right.
The definition of marriage on what year? We have already gone through that one...
So you are saying that for as long as your sensitivities are not challenged you are ok. And you call that tolerance? Mormons are OK because they are not out there fighting for it, that means i can ignore it happens and that makes me feel better, so they are OK.
Sure, and they were talking about marriage between a man and a woman, which is a right. They didn't mention man/man or woman/woman couples at all. Not even once.
No, I'm OK as long as gays don't try to force their views on me. They should be more like Mormons and just follow the darned law.

"...that prevent you from serving your country?"
Gays can serve (as long as they don't flaunt their lifestyle).
"...that prevent you from marrying anyone of your own CHOOSING?"
Yes, I cannot marry Heidi Klum because of laws against bigamy.
ObamaOpposesItToo 2 years ago
There's only one problem, genius. Carrie never murdered, beat, or abused any gay people. All she did was disagree with YOUR opinion, and apparently one can never disagree with gays.
Memorable quotes:
Martin Luther King (great orator) - "I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear."
Gandhi (great leader) - "Anger is the enemy of non-violence and pride is a monster that swallows it up."
tenore23 (great bigot) - "Ignorant useless brainless bitch!!!"
LOL!!
ObamaOpposesItToo 2 years ago
What can I say, they are better than me; guilty as charged.
I do not owe her any respect or any pity besides what she has shown for me; which was none. She sought to impose her opinion on an entire class of people based on 5 bible verses; 4 of them that have been disproved for decades.
So, if you want to make her a martyr, go ahead. That is your right as much as it is my right to call her hypocrisy.
tenore23 2 years ago
Well, at least you admit your shortcomings. I actually have some respect for you now.
ObamaOpposesItToo 2 years ago
"I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear."
are we talking about the love that many churches display when they call for the distruction of gay people? What about when they call people abomination and all those names?
tenore23 2 years ago
"Anger is the enemy of non-violence and pride is a monster that swallows it up."
Are talking about the same humility that is displayed by those who claim to "love the sinner and hate the sin" even though there is nothing like that in the bible? Are we talking about the same humility that many of the so called "moral" people display when having affairs?
tenore23 2 years ago
You disagree with "hate the sin, love the sinner"???? I mean, you have every right to disagree, but man...
As for affairs, people who have them are not moral. But again, what does this have to do with Carrie Prejean? She never had any affairs. Heck, she's not even married.
ObamaOpposesItToo 2 years ago
So talking about the bible and going on and on about her campaign about saving marriage while all along exposing her breast to a camera was a good thing that didn't make her look like a hypocrite? Come on...
Hate the sin love the sinner is a legalism that we use to explain our bigotry. The bible says nothing about that. As a matter of fact, Jesus didn't make any distinctions so we wouldn't either. Are we following the example he set for? or are we separating into us vs. them? Think about that.
tenore23 2 years ago
Please now, Perez Hilton never asked her about the Bible, yet she was immediately attacked before the pageant even ended.
Also I can't believe you have such a problem with an exposed breast. Just curious, do you know who Michelangelo was? He was a gay guy who loved god and also made a famous sculpture of a naked guy. But he's a hypocrite too, huh?
BTW, I have no idea what your point is in the second paragraph. Jesus was not a bigot, yet there is no evidence that he supported gay marriage.
ObamaOpposesItToo 2 years ago
But the problem here is the context. She was the one who brought up the bible. So the moment she did, it was fair to hold it to that standard.
Michaelangelo might have done art. Did you see the semi-pornographic shots she took? Are they in keeping with her bible's standards of decency and modesty? She was the one who said that she answered to a higher power, not me. So what is wrong with holding her to that standard?
tenore23 2 years ago
I just listened to her answer again here on YouTube. She didn't mention the Bible, yet she was attacked immediately after her answer.
"Did you see the semi-pornographic paintings by Michelangelo? Are they in keeping with the Bible's standards of decency and modesty? How come you refuse to hold a gay man to the same standards as a straight woman?"
ObamaOpposesItToo 2 years ago
She was attacked because people did not expect such stupidity coming from her. I don't this it was all her fault. She should have been coached by Miss CA Inc on a suitable answer; just like every politician is coached on Incendiary questions 101. Basic.
Funny, Cathy's shots would not be published in any art magazine but Michaelangelo's would. What does that tell you?
Dude, good talking to you but the hubby is pissed that I am here and not helping with the move. TTYL.
tenore23 2 years ago
"She was attacked..."
...because she disagrees with gay people.
"did not expect such stupidity"
More personal attacks. (And you were making progress earlier, but I guess it's back to square one for you. You really need to stop the hate speech.)
"She should have been coached..."
...to say what YOU want her to say??? Man, now you people are trying to control the thoughts and words of others. Scary. I guess George Orwell was right...
ObamaOpposesItToo 2 years ago
It was stupid. Her answer was heartfelt but it was a stupid action. being a beauty queen is like being a politician. Sometimes you have to hide your true feeling in order not to offend and hurt people. That is "Dealing with a sticky question 101" She can hold her opinion for all eternity, exposing it in such a public forum was a stupid move because it showed that she was not savvy enough to know when to talk and when to not, smile and look pretty.
tenore23 2 years ago
So what? That's all your opinion. Some people might say that your opinion is 'stupid', but again so what?
"Sometimes you have to hide your true feeling [sic]..."
In other words, she should have lied, huh? (FYI, she was asked for her honest opinion, and I'm glad that she didn't take your advice and lie)
ObamaOpposesItToo 2 years ago
You are not getting it, so let me give you an example of an answer that I think would have represented her and still would have not offended too many people:
"You know, I come from a very conservative family and I believe that marriage is between a man and a woman. That being said, i believe that we all have the right to lobby the government and i support gay people's right to lobby the government to seek changes that will make them happy."
Where in there is she lying about her position?
tenore23 2 years ago
I agree, that's a good answer, but unfortunately it doesn't address Perez Hilton's question. She was specifically asked if gay marriage should be legal in other states (she thinks not) and then asked why or why not.
She probably could have gotten away with your answer though, but I do admire her for tackling the question head-on with honesty and integrity. She's got a lot of character.
ObamaOpposesItToo 2 years ago
One more thing:
Your wife/gf/ whatever: "Honey, does this pair opf jeans make me look fat?" (they do)
Will you not lie through your teeth or at least make it pretty so she doesn't feel attacked?
How is that different from Cathy's conundrum?
tenore23 2 years ago
Of course, because it's not a pageant which is a public event. If you think people should willingly lie on stage in public like that, then you're entitled to that opinion.
ObamaOpposesItToo 2 years ago
You see it as a pageant, in reality, Miss USA is a televised job interview.
Would you have the same response in a job interview?
tenore23 2 years ago
I've never had an interviewer call me a "stupid useless bigoted b****" just because they didn't like my answers.
ObamaOpposesItToo 2 years ago
You are right, I would just not hire you. (I'm in HR)
You would be called that behind your back.
tenore23 2 years ago
See, that's why gays are such hypocrites. Gays (like you) make intolerant statements like that in public.
ObamaOpposesItToo 2 years ago
Are you saying that straight people have been the victims of gay intolerance all along? and that you have always minded your own business and never used your collective power to create fear and intolerance in the laws? Are you saying that the whole "gay panic defense" so popular these days is a fallacy?
Man, we've been talking for hours now, do you really think this argument will fly?
tenore23 2 years ago
No, straight people have been the victims of gay intolerance for maybe about 7 or 8 years now. That's why we have to nip it in the bud.
No, I've never created "fear and intolerance in the laws" because I'm a very tolerant guy myself. I just don't want gays forcing their opinion on me.
Yes, my arguments will fly.
ObamaOpposesItToo 2 years ago
Thank you for proving my point. Yes, I would agree that straight people have seen a surge in being the recipients of gays anger.
We have been there for hundreds of years. When do WE get to nip it in the butt? You've been on the receiving end for 10, what do we do about the other 900 years or so?
tenore23 2 years ago
What are you talking about? You just agreed with MY point. Straight people don't deserve to be harassed by gays. Also, I've always stated that I dondemn violence on BOTH sides.
ObamaOpposesItToo 2 years ago
But do you realize that YOU are basically alone in that?
You need to differentiate between the collective you and the singular you.
YOU personally might have not, but that does not mean that YOU collectively have not abused your power and used against gay people.
At least that we can agree on.
tenore23 2 years ago
Like I said before, that simply doesn't happen anymore. Gays faced discrimination in 1959, 1979, and perhaps even in 1999.
But in 2009?? Seriously, they face none at all.
ObamaOpposesItToo 2 years ago
I'm not even going to answer that. You need to talk to your gay friends and or acquaintances and get schooled on that. You need to learn how it looks like in 2009. It is not going to look the same, but it happens.
tenore23 2 years ago
I'm serious, man. There is no discrimination against gays in this day and age. None at all. Gay people seem to want to put 'oppression' under new management so that they can "get even" with the rest of us.
ObamaOpposesItToo 2 years ago
Again, ask your gay friends. You would trust them more than you trust me, and you should. i am a stranger
tenore23 2 years ago
Nah, gays are too biased on this issue. I can't trust their info since they're not objective.
ObamaOpposesItToo 2 years ago
And straight people are? really?
tenore23 2 years ago
Yes, since 95% of people are straight, there are obviously more objective straight people than gay people. I wish gays would be more tolerant of others, like Elton John. He said, "Heterosexual people get married. We can have civil partnerships."
Now there's a gay guy who knows what he's talking about.
ObamaOpposesItToo 2 years ago
then what do you say about straight people who believe that civil unions are unconstitutional and that gays should have full marriage rights, including the name?
tenore23 2 years ago
"civil unions are unconstitutional"
Straight people don't say that. Heck, gay people (other than you) don't even say that! Take that to a lawyer, and hear how loud he laughs.
ObamaOpposesItToo 2 years ago
Really? then are you saying that Bill Clinton and Chenney coming in full support of gay marriage is a fallacy?
Other heterosexuals in favor of full marriage equality:
Brad Pitt and Angelina (for whatever little they count)
Howard Dean
4 justices of the CA supreme court
Governors and senators in 6 states
All justices in the Iowa Supreme court
do you think google does not exist?
tenore23 2 years ago
You didn't mention these people:
Stephen Baldwin (for whatever little he counts)
Michael Steele
Governors and Senators in more than 6 states
52% of the people in CA
People in 30 states
They all oppose gay marriage and don't want it forced on them.
ObamaOpposesItToo 2 years ago
Those were roughly the same statistics used in these cases:
Segregation
Suffrage
Abortion
Look where we are now. You might have the statistics NOW, but that does not mean the pendulum is not going to swing the other way.
The younger the generation, the more they believe that gay marriage should be legal, so i guess it is only a matter of time and patience.
tenore23 2 years ago
"so i guess it is only a matter ofr time and patience."
C'mon now, you don't really believe that. If you did, you wouldn't be so darn angry.
ObamaOpposesItToo 2 years ago
It took Elizabeth Cady Stanton nearly 100 years to see her dream a reality. I'm sure she was angry a lot because it would not happen sooner. How and why should it be any different to me?
Of course I am angry, but that does not mean that marriage equality will never happen. it just means that I am being realistic as to the difficult battles ahead and reacting to the fact that i would rather see it NOW than in 50 years.
Mark my words, it will happen.
tenore23 2 years ago
Guess what? She never supported gay marriage either...lol.
Mark my words, it will keep getting rejected by the people.
ObamaOpposesItToo 2 years ago
And many women did not support her either.
She made it happen. Has history not taught you anything?
tenore23 2 years ago
Yes, it has taught me that very few people in history have supported gay marriage. It has also taught me that gay marriage is not women's suffrage.
ObamaOpposesItToo 2 years ago
It hasn't taught you enough
tenore23 2 years ago
It's taught me all I need to know about the intolerance of gays.
ObamaOpposesItToo 2 years ago
So are you ready to concede that after hundreds of years of abusing gay people it was only a matter of time before straight people tasted their won medicine?
Progress, I'm proud of you.
tenore23 2 years ago
No, it proves my point that gay people are as much as bigots as the people they criticize. Not only that, they are hypocrites, which makes them worse.
ObamaOpposesItToo 2 years ago
There is bigotry on both sides. Problem is that straight people are calling the kettle black and are complaining because they have been hit BACK.
Gay people didn't hit first. Hitting back might not be the right thing to do, but hardly inexcusable.
Latter dude. Time for dinner
tenore23 2 years ago
"There is bigotry on both sides."
"Hitting back might not be the right thing to do..."
Thank you, thank you very much. This was my entire point from the beginning. Maybe there's hope for you after all?
In any case, off to fight another intolerant gay bigot. My work here is done.
ObamaOpposesItToo 2 years ago
Good talking to you. Have a great evening.
tenore23 2 years ago
Many of the world's tyrants were gay or believed to be-Alexander the Great (aka A the Gay), Julius Ceasar (& more evil Romans), Hitler,Sodom & Gomorrah leaders,Jezebel?, etc.On the Web: "I am left w/ the impression that Napoleon was either bi-sexual or a hidden homosexual-interesting thought no?Incidently Hitler was also from the bendergender & of course Julius Ceasar.Does this mean all great tyrants were gay? This would throw all our manly visions of wargaming up the poopschute if this was true
goldenjeru 2 years ago
Goldenjeru: Very interesting point. There were alot of evil Gays in history....
mandemonic63 2 years ago
But gay people deserve to be harassed by straights? Straight people have been harassing gay people for hundreds of year and the best straight people can do is cry because they have been on the receiving end of 6-7 years?
Gimme a break please.
tenore23 2 years ago
Yes, because harassment against gays has pretty much stopped in 2009, while harassment against straight people has increased.
ObamaOpposesItToo 2 years ago
Dude, i was harassed in the streets of Chicago last year, you have no ideas what you are talking about.
tenore23 2 years ago
If that's true, then it was wrong. But for every incident like that, I bet there are 5 incidents of harassment against straight people. (For example, religious people are constantly mocked in cities like S.F., on television, in the newspaper, etc.)
Come to think of it, religious people face lots more discrimination in 2009 than gays by far.
But again, what happened to you was wrong.
ObamaOpposesItToo 2 years ago
Come to think of it, religious people face lots more discrimination in 2009 than gays by far.
What can i say? "you reap what you sow"
tenore23 2 years ago
Thanks for agreeing that gays face less discrimination than people of faith....lol
ObamaOpposesItToo 2 years ago
I didn't say that. I agreed that they are facing a lot of shit and then i said "You reap what you sow"
All that hatred is not free. They didn't win it in the lottery. They worked hard for it.
tenore23 2 years ago
They worked hard to hate? What a joke.
ObamaOpposesItToo 2 years ago
No, they hated hard enough to be hated back with the same virulence.
tenore23 2 years ago
So if you hate and if they hate, then by definition you are both intolerant....LOL
ObamaOpposesItToo 2 years ago
it is only a matter of what came first, the chicken or the egg.
In this case, i can tell you it was the chicken, since they believe that God created all things, he would have had to create the chicken first.
tenore23 2 years ago
Have you never been in a sticky situation where it was loose-loose and you had to bullshit your way out of it? She was in that situation and her handlers are as much to blame for not p-reparing her for the eventuality.
Come on, she was from CA! She and the organization should have expected that question and she should have discussed this with the Miss CA people and find a suitable answer that represented herself and did not offend people, JUST LIKE ANY POLITICIAN WOULD DO.
tenore23 2 years ago
I still don't get your point. Your handlers haven't prepared you either, since you've said many offensive things about religious people. So you're guilty of the same thing, right?
"Come on, she was from CA!"
And Californians (smartly) passed Prop 8, so they DO agree with her. It would have offended them if she had lied (as you suggested).
ObamaOpposesItToo 2 years ago
Californians passed that law under fear. Look at the campaign that was put, full of misinformation and fear. To be honest, that law will be sent to the trash, i just hope it will be Californians who do it. They have the right to receive real information and vote on the issue from a reality based campaign, not one of fear.
tenore23 2 years ago
I agree. Californians feared intolerance from religion haters.
ObamaOpposesItToo 2 years ago
Gay people don't hate religion, at least many that I have talked to. Atheists do, and in those there are gay and straights.
Gay people hate the use of the bible to create laws that will interfere with out constitutional guarantee of pursue of happiness as we see it fit.
We know that people will not like what we do on religious grounds, it is when the bible is used to justify persecution and prosecution that we draw the line.
Drop the line that gay people are bigots, I don't buy it.
tenore23 2 years ago
Yeah right, you could have fooled me. Take a look around YouTube. It's not hard to find religiphobic comments from bigoted gay people.
ObamaOpposesItToo 2 years ago
And that would be the pot calling the kettle black. Hatred comes from both points.
I'm just asking, who started it? And who is truly defending themselves?
Straight people can not collectively cry because gay people are showing anger over the hundreds of years that we have been the object of persecution. That is just not a valid argument.
tenore23 2 years ago
"Hatred comes from both points."
Glad to see that you've FINALLY admitted that gays can be hateful too.
"And who is truly defending themselves?"
Not you. She never even spoke to you, yet you call her mean, nasty names like "ignorant useless bigoted b****". So classy of you. (BTW, you weren't even around 100 years ago, so you can't complain about being persecuted back then)
P.S.-Who the hell is Cathy????
ObamaOpposesItToo 2 years ago
but then, you were the ones who called gay people collectively bigoted and anti religion. so why can't i use the same standard?
Fact is that Carrie talked about gay people and as a gay man she talked about me even if she didn't mention me by name.
Did i call her Cathy? Oh damn, Cathy is another useless woman who used to work for me a long time ago.
tenore23 2 years ago
Hey guy, I was using YOUR standard--you know, the standard that gay people use about calling people 'bigots' just because they disagree with them.
"Fact is that tenore23 talked about straight people, and as a straight person he talked about me when he said "ignorant useless bigoted b****", even if he didn't mention me by name."
ObamaOpposesItToo 2 years ago
I said she is, and as not nice as that might've been, i was talking about her, unless you are a woman (I have assumed you are a male) and in that case, if you are a woman, I can see why you felt alluded to.
That's how it feels.
tenore23 2 years ago
No, but she's straight, and I'm straight. Therefore, I am offended at those remarks.
ObamaOpposesItToo 2 years ago
Well, I was offended by her remarks, so I guess we are playing on an even field.
tenore23 2 years ago
If "I believe that marriage is between a man and a woman" offends you, then you need to be more tolerant of other people's views. It's not like she called you a "stupid fa***" (which in fact would have been offensive). Don't be so sensitive.
ObamaOpposesItToo 2 years ago
If people saying Marriage should be gender neutral offends you maybe you need to be more tolerant of other people's views.
She might have not called me a stupid faggot, but enough people have in my life for me not to take their abuse anymore.
I'm not being sensitive. I know I am not going to be likes by all who meet me, but i will not take abuse just because i am gay.
tenore23 2 years ago
If people saying that marriage should _not_ be gender neutral, then maybe you need to be more tolerant of their views.
"but enough people have in my life for me not to take their abuse anymore.
Fine, then direct your vitriol in their direction, not at her.
"but i will not take abuse just because i am gay."
I agree, you shouldn't have to take any abuse. BUT, opposing gay marriage is not "abusing" you. That's what gays don't seem to understand.
ObamaOpposesItToo 2 years ago
I don't see opposing gay marriage as abuse. It is the vitriol that comes with it, and the basis for some of the opposition. I would fight just as strong if there was a law that was passed that made it illegal for people to oppose gay marriage.
But the fact still remains that it should not be the ignorant masses who decide who gets a right and who doesn't. As a character in one of my favorite plays would say; "Today for you, tomorrow for me."
tenore23 2 years ago
"I don't see opposing gay marriage as abuse.
Good, then we agree.
"It is the vitriol that comes with it"
Actually, there's more vitriol coming from the other side (ie; just take a look at what has been said about Carrie).
"...who decide who gets a right and who doesn't."
Like I said, gay marriage isn't a right.
ObamaOpposesItToo 2 years ago
Again, you reap what you sow.
You only have 6-7 years of evidence as to the "persecution of straights"
I have 900 years of evidence that says straights are crying foul when they should not be.
tenore23 2 years ago
You can only complain if you've been around for those 900 years, which you haven't been.
ObamaOpposesItToo 2 years ago
LOL, not true. You might want it to be, but that argument does not hold water.
tenore23 2 years ago
Yes it does.
ObamaOpposesItToo 2 years ago
LOL, that does not hold water either. History is used a lot to justify all sorts of battles.
Just last week, a councilman in LA was bitching because LA opera was doing Wagner and he used the holocaust as a reason why Wagner should not be done.
tenore23 2 years ago
I agree, you shouldn't use history to justify gay marriage.
ObamaOpposesItToo 2 years ago
I'm not using history to justify it. i'm using the lessons of History to tell you that it will happen sooner or latter.
tenore23 2 years ago
And I'm using the lessons of history to tell you that it won't.
ObamaOpposesItToo 2 years ago
Keep sleeping on that side, the soars are going to get very painful at one point.
tenore23 2 years ago
There's no pain when you're right.

ObamaOpposesItToo 2 years ago
hey, I was not the one who doubted my education. I speak several languages, how many do you speak?
tenore23 2 years ago
Jesus was seeing talking and partying with homosexuals, thieves, prostitutes, assassins and the worse of the worse. Is that what the modern church is doing?
Seriously, the pharisees were the ones using loopholes in the law to persecute and prosecute, to elevate themselves as pure. Do you see any correlations?
If Jesus didn't see or make any distinction withing sinners, what do you think we need to do?
tenore23 2 years ago
You still didn't address my point. Jesus never endorsed gay marriage. (And gays are simply not prosecuted under anti-sodomy laws anymore. Weak example.)
ObamaOpposesItToo 2 years ago
Look at the circumstances of that: A gay couple was found in the heat of passion in their own home in TX and the state prosecuted them under their sodomy laws. They fought back all the way to the SCOUTS and they won. This sounds like something that happened 30 years ago, but no, it happened a mere 3-5 years ago. Look it up, research. I think it was Brown vs Texas.
tenore23 2 years ago
That's funny, you tell me to "look it up", but YOU can't even get the name straight. (It was Lawrence v. Texas, and the incident took place 11 years ago)
If you can only come up with _one_ incident in 11 years, then I think this proves my point that America is a whole lot more tolerant than you give us credit for.
ObamaOpposesItToo 2 years ago
Thanks for the correction. I am trying to get out of here but the conversation is interesting enough. My hubby is pissed.
i agree with you, the USA is a lot more tolerant, but it is not tolerance what we want. I do not need to be tolerated (not even when i am being a bitch) i want to be treated with the respect that i am accorded by the constitution.
I do not expect any christian to agree with me or to like me. I expect my government to be blind when applying the law and when creating it.
tenore23 2 years ago
You are being treated equally. Straight men can marry a woman (but not a man), and so can you.
P.S.-Tell your guy that you just got schooled...LOL! (Before you get all pissed now, it's just a joke, man)
ObamaOpposesItToo 2 years ago
You can marry anyone of your own choosing, i should have the same right. If you choose to marry a woman and the government is OK with that then I should be allowed to marry my BF without any opposition of the government.
Before your bring up Heidi Clum (hot as all hell, as far as i am concerned). Let me remind you that polygamy is still practiced today. If Heidy and Seal were OK with you joining, there is no law against poli-amorous relationship, just can't make it official.
tenore23 2 years ago
Man, you just completely ignored my previous comment. I CANNOT marry anyone of my choosing. First off, straight men can _only_ marry a woman, and second, we can't break any laws against bigamy.
"there is no law against poli-amorous relationship [sic], just can't make it official."
That's exactly how I feel about gay marriage. I would be 100% for it as long as it's not "made official".
ObamaOpposesItToo 2 years ago
The day you choose to marry a man, that day you will be gay. You would NOT choose to marry a man so it is easy for you to ignore the unfairness of your statement. A straight man would ONLY want to marry a woman, so your argument is moot.
You can feel however you want about gay marriage. Fact is that there will be a time when our grankids would look back and wonder what all the fuzz was about.
tenore23 2 years ago
You missed my point. Just because you don't like your options doesn't mean that the law isn't being applied equally. Because it most definitely is.
"there will be a time when our grankids [sic]..."
Umm...gay unions don't produce kids.
ObamaOpposesItToo 2 years ago
You are very right. So if this is about procreation why didn't the CA amendment read something like this:
"In order to protect the sacred marriage institution and the procreation responsibilities of the partners, marriage in this state shall consist of a man and a woman of procreation age, who, having been tested, can prove they can procreate. "
tenore23 2 years ago
Because that's never been the definition of marriage, either. Marriage has been between a man and a woman for over 2000 years.
ObamaOpposesItToo 2 years ago
Wrong. The definition of marriage has changed over the years to mean a lot of things.
The last time it changed (about 100 years of so) was to allow for the Victorian's view of romantic love and marrying for love.
You should know that. You are an intelligent person.
tenore23 2 years ago
Not quite. Even before that, it was still only between a man and a woman (which has never changed in over 2000 years).
ObamaOpposesItToo 2 years ago
Not really, the Bizantine church blessed gay relationships thousands of years ago. Let me do the research and i'll send you the link.
Man and a woman? read the story of David and we'll talk.
tenore23 2 years ago
Examples like that are just isolated incidents. And yes, "1 man, 1 woman" has been the definition for centuries. Sorry.
ObamaOpposesItToo 2 years ago
Dude! Muslims practice polygamy, so do Mormons on the fringe, So did Abraham, David and many bible heroes that came before and after.
Polygamy was legal in this country until 100 years years ago. A basic search on google would clear that up for you,
tenore23 2 years ago

"Mormons did not give up polygamy!"

A right is a right is a right.
So a heterosexual has the right to marry but a homosexual does not?
Take that argument to a lawyer and see what he responds.

No, that's not true. Heterosexuals AND homosexuals both have the right to marry someone of the opposite sex. (The law doesn't discriminate)
