Great stuff Shum, this is one of their very best tracks, subtle and beautiful as Bach, and yet still some kind of pop song, what sensitivity, maybe too much for this world, but still keep up the good work, this world must know this music!
Dear shumy I forgot how amazing this song is...i,m here because of the new Sunday mix u posted earlier and as u know i dislike most mixes and prefer the original version...Thumbs Up my Angel, this an amazing heavenly song/video!!
Judging by the lyrics to the song, I'm inclined to view Beatrix as a woman with tendencies towards mental instability pushed over the edge - pun intended - by the suicide of her lover. Perhaps she attempts again and again to throw herself over a cliff, but something stops her each time - for example, she's locked in an asylum and doesn't know it! :)
i've always pictured beatrix as a deranged and psychotic woman pulling her hair while spinning and doing arabesque in some kind of sordid bedlam asylum. its the sort of music she hears inside her head!
Wow Shum I like your video fdrom Beatrix! Like the beggining ehn that woman throw away (0:20), and the idea and style of the way you made the video, So Cool!
Personally my fav CT album is VICTORIA LAND above all, but TREASURE is awesome too...also love the late BLUE BELL KNOLL.
Too bad I heard a few years ago Liz was going
to record some tracks with...Jeff BUCKLEY in his studio Lp (best female voice with best male voice??? -how could this be? how could that sound like...we'll never know)
heaven or las vegas man! the last song on that album frou frou foxes in midsummer fire is the most enchanting sound av ever heard and av listened to the cocteau twins since i was 3or4 away back in 1985 and am still listening! taken them all over the world with me. bought their albums so many times cos i keep giving them away to other virgincocteau lovers
The Banshee's Nocturne, Dead Can Dance's Wthin the Realm of a Dying Sun, U2's Unforgettable Fire, Sister's of Mercy's Floodland, and The Cocteau Twins' Treasure.
@StonefieldJim4 And that's your opinion. I don't care if you or anyone likes them...each of those albums means something to me/had an effect on my life in some way. And really, you comment on a post from 2 years ago???
Yes, it is my opinion - well spotted. You have yours; I have mine. Such is life. No need to take it so personally. After all, it was rather tongue in cheek. Incidentally, I assumed that a 2 year old comment would still be valid. No? P.S. I never forgave Siouxsie for her anti-Semitism (see "Love In A Void": "Too many Jews for my liking")@lycia69
what a magical album. Treasure is perhaps the most appropriately named album in history. i'm often amazed at what were the events in 1984 that allowed them to create such an otherworldy masterpiece which had no precedent before or since.
I was doing work on my folks house and listening to my Treasure CD---I always knew what an awesome album it was but forgot what an especially haunting and wonderful track Beatrix is---but what makes the song even more perfect is this video. Perfect use of colors and hazes and hues and shadow. This video is awesome and going into my Favorites!

That's pretty funny, though the titles have always kinda put sway on some of my favorite female names, like you two. Anyways, TREASURE, indeed. This album very firmly grabbed a hold of my senses at my tender age of 16. Heaven or Las Vegas was my intro disc, but whatever order - it's all gold.

@daemona71 Hi there, the CTs sure tug at the heart strings with
so many of there songs, love this classy track to my friend :))
shum65 1 month ago
as for the video, I think we all must fall for the future-knowns. I thought Beatrix was
the author of the tales of Piggly Squink & Petter Ferl, or maybe those were ones I
wrote. I don't agree with Robin- I thought treasure-wonderful, but I always played
Aloysius Lorelei and Beatrix together. Those three work together beautifully. Like a
musi-maxi-mixi-melody.
posypity 2 months ago 2
@posypity Hi there I agree Treasure was probably the CTs holy Grail,
A collection of perfection, sends chills and goosebumps through to the
very soul, I believe "Watchlar" was one of Robins fave CTs songs, check

i realise melonella is an illness after all, so i apologise if that caused offence. i have

so i'll check out your watchlar. if its not pixies at the bottom of the garden then i
expect it will be a surprise to me. that's how i imagined it [tintafabulations at teepany]
