where in the world can i find that song and translate the lyrics? overtime, i try to translate this language into english I get nowhere. I'm alsmot trying to get the famous banish for raga deshkar "hun to tore kaaran" translated into english but having no luck finding the lyrics or a translation...
I was 1st introduced to Raga Hemant first time by the wonderful tune of Ali Akbar Khan's sarod, I remember, I spent the whole night of chilly january listening to that mysterious melody, awesome, he or the soulfulness of the raga touch me something eternally, still now I wonder about the raga. I'm a classical vocalist and i hope someday i'll render it to my own voice.
This was the very first raga that Panditji played at his veryfirst debut concert in Mumbai, the renowned critic Batuk Diwanji (who had arranged it) who's now in 90s told me...in the audience were great musicians such as Pranpiya (Vilayat Husain Khansaheb); Sajanpiya (Khadim Husain Khansaheb) and Pandit Shrikrishna Ratanjankar and so on...
We were introduced to Raag Hemant by Pandit Ravi Shankar. Ever since I was about 10 years of age, Panditji's recording on 78 RPM disc never failed to enthrall me. Beautiful Raag indeed.

the song is
Rooth ke tum to chal diye ab main dua ka kya karoon!
singer is our own Lataji!
Manna Da is equally brilliant! I agree with Mirzaji! it is the creation of maihar ke baba!
as he was called!
what briliant gems he has collected? I too have all of them! L O L!
45 RPMs not 78s
