Tomorrowland was filled with movement. "On the move" I think was a phrase Walt Disney used to describe people of tomorrow and the land itself. No longer. A pity. When you add up no round trip monorail, no sky way, no people mover, it's a huge loss to the park and to visitors, who can no longer have any of the amazing and inspiring views from those rides. The views and experiences from those 3 rides contribute GREATLY to the perception of the place being magical, enticing the rider like 2:40
@rjkral Well, the monorail still does round-trips, but the monorail itself isn't the same. The seats are like hard plastic/fiber glass or something and it gets very hot and stuffy during the summer if you're not either in the cockpit or in the rear-viewing cockpit.
Holy Crap this video took me back! The first time we took my little brother to Disneyland was in 92 and I believed Splash Mountain had just opened up when we went and this was pretty much how I remember it walking around. Everything from what the people are wearing to the characters walking around specially Roger Rabbit....are you kidding me lol! Thanks a lot for posting this, it brought back awesome memories of that day :)
Disneyland was never the same after they took out the skyway, people mover, Adventure thru Inner space, country bear jamboree, submarine voyage, autopia, mission to mars, rocket jets, The Walt Disney Story featuring Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln, America sings, the motorboat cruise, big thunder ranch, the main street electrical parade and the Swiss Family Treehouse, etc.
Old-skool Disneyland kicks Neu-school Disneyland any day of the week.
@chaddavidroberts i've never been, but i agree. but alot of the old stuff is still there, u just gotta look. like the america sings animals r in splash mountain, the swiss tree house is now tarzan tree house but alot of the swiss tree house props r there. in the pooh bear ride the animal heads r stiil on the wall from bear jamboree. all you got to do is look, and if u have kids teach them about the history of the place.
Wow the park was practically empty! Thanks for uploading, it brought back SO many memories! When I was younger, I thought I'd dreamed this ride and that it was never real because they took it out when I was still so young!
i remeber before the disney characters didnt have exact spots to be in...before they would just walk around the park and you could stop them at anytime:) now they have staff with them and they dont even let you take a quick picture with them:(
Loved this video. Especially the Skyway going through the Matterhorn. Brings back memories. Disneyland was a different place back then. Cute kid, by the way.
Wow. I was born 30 days after this video was shot. Why did they take out such a classic attraction? Never got a chance to ride it unfortunately. But I did at Disney World.
nice little compilation. cool to see the peoplemover in the distance when you were on the skyway. that's another ride i miss. nice camerawork on the carousel, too! i waved at you!
I grew up riding those! I live in San Diego, so when my parents were bored, they would take me down to the zoo and sea world when I was younger. We also drove up to Disneyland once a year
