i agree with dutchdutch41 what was going through your head as u sat there for an hour drilling that what possibly made u think that was better than going off the side i can not imagine your show is going anywhere when u give the advice of drilling a hole when u r literally 4 feet from open water

theres no way in hell that ice is 12 inches and very solid. you can see the fish laying sideways just under the top of the ice.. its 3-4 inches at most
just go off the side..

We did cast and ice fish we did both, the ice block was right on top of the spot on the spot if you know whatI mean.....
