I always thought it was weird how they could make such epic games like the mega man series and at the same time make some of the most horrid loathsome games I've ever seen.
While I wouldn't say that I'm a Mega Man noob since I've loved the character since my childhood (I played X and X4), my first classic Mega Man game was actually 9 back in 2008. I just recently download I, II, and III from the VC and Mega Man III has to be my personal favorite. It's a bit unbalanced and the powers are not nearly as useful as II's, but there are many quirks that really make III stand out and I completely agree with you. The ending is the stuff of legends

well i respect your opinion but i didn't liked a lot this game. i think some of the bosses like Shadow man were unfair and the power ups were worse than 2's, but it still a good game, but honestly, i preffer Mega Man 4 (yeah, i know i'll be criticized for that but this is my feelings), but of course Mega Man 2 still the best
Mega Man 3 was Mega Man at the height of it's time. But for some reason MM3 feels just slightly less memorable than MM2. This might be because MM3 had no intro and the story is not fully explained so the player view gets less rememered. Still a great game.
My personal fav AND what I feel to be the best in the series. Glad you gave it a 10/10. Slide, Rush, ProtoMan, Best Story (for the nes ones) More Bosses. Seems almost impossible but an improvement from MegaMan 2.

You know, I remember reading a list of plans for this game that were never added into the game. There was some pretty cool stuff in that list, like Proto Man having a car, and Proto Man having 2 scarves, which he would give one to Mega Man at the end of the game... However, I'm not sure if they were true, it kind of makes you wonder...

Admittedly I haven't played this game yet, but I plan to eventually .I found a copy of the Megaman Anniversary Collection for $5 and I had to buy it, even with all of the OTHER games I still need to finish, not to mention everything else that I like (I don't just play games, it just takes up 99% of my life XD). You just make me want to get to playing Megaman again, although idk if it'll beat 9 (my fav, but only my second 8-bit MM game).
I'd never heard of that one - checked out some video of the gameplay, and I must say it's god-awful. There are two others that come to mind - some megaman 3d that was like a first/third-person shooter and then megaman soccer :-P
i don't agree whit your last statement it is true that there are some bad sinematic games and this is feels better than theme but in my mind all good new games suprass old in every way

Nice review man. This is definitely one of my favorites in the series, but personally (and I know ill get some backlash) my favorite is Mega Man 9.
