I think the value of this sort of songs is that it means something different for each listener. It makes me think, for example, about the things you think you have, but you may not. "We are accidents waiting to happen"... idk. I think about stupid things we do.

No one is "the beatles of this generation". The Beatles in their time were adored by practically everyone who adored music. They were also at the top of pop writing/songcrafting of the era. In other words they made music that was considered the best of the time and that was also the most popular of the time. No one came to achieve that ever since. Radiohead has skill that, in my view, surpasses that of Beatles, but they don't have the popularity.

And that's quite fine.
