But in America there a lot of different types of fries my friend. Steak fries are natural cut and usually much less fatty, plus they are real thick. Fast food fries are usually real fatty and skinny. Cris cut fries are round with a criss cut pattern and usually double fried(extra crispy and brown). We also have curly fries, and so on and so on. I personally prefer Belgian style fries myself. With a little aolli on the side for dipping.

@VannakN How is it messed up? These cooks are KNOWN for their dish, they make it all the time for years, which means they have a fair chance since Bobby has to come up with a last minute recipe. Plus he usually loses but continues to throwdown in good spirits, and it gives these businesses national exposure. Win or lose, that's pretty awesome.

3:08 What the hell was that? I think that was a fork with ketchup on it diving into some fish. Does anyone find that to be somewhat offensive? Though I come from Pennsylvania and do have a bit of ketchup pride- ketchup should never come near a fish and chip shop. Malt vinegar is the only condiment for fish and chips. This is still one of the best Throwdown episodes, though.

I just saw the sushi and pad thai episodes earlier, I like this show a lot. You learn a little about the food and its pretty funny too.
Oh and yes Malt Vinegar for chips(french fries in the US). It's good on crisps too(chips in the US).

As a Canadian from Nova Scotia we use malt vinegar. Some people do use white but most use malt.
