  • I'm really impressed with this. I live in the United States, and I've long been annoyed with the SCA's weak style of combat and poor attention to detail. I think there are quite a few people here who would love to take their reenacting up to this level.

  • Excellent serie.

  • супер бугурт !

  • Awesome!

  • @Uriencillos MORON

  • @Uriencillos

Beacuse edges weapons can really really be dangerous regardless of what kind of armour you use this is about competition and Re-creation not to kill each other

  • @Uriencillos Go to the battle as a dark aged peasant and see how well you stand to the blows and shields to the face

  • What are the chances of serious injury in this? ie. cuts and slashes.

Also are the weapons blunted in any way?

  • @Trumpetplayer23

    ofcourse they are blunt

  • na zimowe wieczory :)

  • Cannot wait for the battle. Jean-Philippe - France

  • Indeed, we can see on video the armor that was put together not entirely correct. We know that for sure.

But this is the problem we’re working on. The new teams are allowed to have small defects and divergences within the boundaries of one hundred of years in one armor. This is the advance we give to promising and ambitious fighters that cannot gather an accurate armor at once.

  • Who need the rules - here you are

    battleofthenations . com .ua

we can't give you full link because of rules of youtube - but you need page "Information for participants"

And about quality and authentic of armors

  • @battleofthenationsTV Thank you.

  • USA inc

  • Makes me very, very proud to be Polish and to be a reenactor.

    SŁAWA!!!

  • Does anyone know what the rules are?

  • @flotskiy

"most of russian's armours" means Armor of the team members from eastern team

example of mixed armament is crusade helmet with XVth century arms and legs. or bascinet with unhistorical vizor like "grille" or burgonette but i must back honour... not everyone or even most of, have mixed armours, but some of them.

my opinion was not to be malignant, but i saw many of russians in poland, and most of them have self inventions, and it is not fair to call it reenactment:)

  • "boohart" = behourd, I guess?

  • szkoda ze połowa ruskiego sprzętu jest niehistoryczna... a narrator przekonuje nas twardo ze jest bardzo historycznie :)

unfortunately most of russian's armours are unhistorical. they has pieces of armours from many medieval periods mixed on one "knight". lol

  • @skinnerNCE87

"most of russian's armours"? What do you mean? Armor of the team members from Russia? Or specifically "Russian armor systems," regardless of who they are wearing. For example, the Ukrainian team were also "Russian armor."

Do you have any proof? Maybe you have a degree in medieval history? Show us your own "proper" armor, please? ;)

  • great!

  • American Team is forming now. look them up on facebook and add your collective sac.

  • When i have 18, I'm going to visit this awensome tournamet, Big greeting from Poland

  • Great Job! and also Poland best with his scream "Bialo Czerwoni".

  • This. Is. AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I pray regularly that we Americans grow the collective sac in order to do something like this. Bamboo and rattan staves are not nearly as exciting or engaging. Again, I say - AWESOME!!!!

  • @ebonpaladin

Not all us Americans are using just bamboo and rattan. Some of us do quite well with our steel blades.

  • @EvilxMerlin - where? What group? This is the first I've heard of a large gathering using live steel stateside.

  • @ebonpaladin

I'm a WMA practicioner. We use live steel for all our training and in sparring as well. Usually Blossfechten, but occasionally Harnischfechten when folks we are sparring or practicing with have a harness.

  • @EvilxMerlin - I think that's awesome, but I was talking about something like BotN - currently, most of the large gatherings I've heard of utilize rattan and bamboo for their weapons. If you know of a similarly sized gathering that uses live steel, let me know by all means! I'm just a beginner swordsman, but I love it and the learning process is so...well, you know, you do it. Where is your WMA group located?

  • @ebonpaladin

I've seen the rattan and bamboo stuff. Not impressed, thats mostly the realm of the SCA, which seems to think plastic armour and light sport armours are enough. Doesn't work well for me. HEMAA has yet to do a large scale batte, but does a lot of one on one stuff. My WMA school is in Medford, MA (Kunstbruder is the name of the school, I'm an assistant instructor there).

  • @EvilxMerlin - I've seen some really good looking kits done up in plastic, but like anything else, quality counts. You really can't tell the difference until you're up close. There is also an underlying elitist attitude among some of the membership that is also off-putting; can't tell you how often I've run into it. I've no interest in the SCA as a result, but AM interested in things like this. Medford, MA? I grew up in Medford, NY...live in MD now though. I'll look you guys up.
