turntapzap, please Powerful turntapzap, tell me, tell me, tell me the answer, wich chords Paul use. I dont undersant how to make the E7 he uses in Everyday.
@martipin12 It's the same E7 he uses on "Everyday". If you form a D7 without using your index finger, then move that cord up a whole step and put your index finger on the low B note, you've got it.
@dubbly1 Hey Dubbly! John's a little more sure of himself than that...he actually says "so that's what this films about." Seems he's replying to a question put to him by George Martin. :)
what I'd offer on 'acoustic' versus normal is that in this case 'acoustic' really means demo version.
a demonstration version is where you record enough of the melody and arrangement of the song so that you have a framework to build the production of the completed song out of it. basically it helps the producer and the rest of the band hear it and begin to figure out how to finish it.
an acoustic version of a song is where the singer and material are unamplified and in a more raw form.
Hey I don't want to sound stupid here, but does anyone know the difference between an acoustic version and a normal version of a song? Not just this one, any song, it's just I don't know a lot about the ins and outs of music and recordings, so if anyone knows that'd be great :) I know you get an acoustic guitar, are acoustic versions like based on that one instrument without any others? I might get an idea of this watching the video I know, but it won't load for some reason. Thanks :)
Great music, and lots of it. And the whole approach so down to earth. It's like being in their living room. cozy. and the finished product of that song ROCKED; not to mention one of the best vocal performances ever.

He's messing around with a D7 fingering, but a whole step (2 frets) higher, making it an E7.

Acoustic has nothing to do with "absence of electricity". If it had, there would be no microphones neither, right?
These days, "acoustic" means pretty much guitar, piano, drums and an acoustic bass...
It's just a thing MTV came up with... And Paul McCartney was the first to play one of these "acoustic MTV"...
And, this video is not an acoustic version nor a demo. It's just Paul messing with his guitar and he got caught on tape. That's all...

Anything the man plays is amazing.
Anyone have the tabs for this version? Can't find em anywhere!

I wonder what John thinks about this while Paul's writing...
"She's So Heavy was enough Paul..."
and in the end, Helter Skelter and She's So Heavy get smashed into one song on LOVE! Great track BTW.

Acoustic is unplugged, unamplified. Often these songs will contain just an acoustic guitar, and maybe soft percussion.
ShavaShav 2 years ago
Ah ok, thanks. So with the absence of any electricity. :) And thanks to scats17 as well, below. Helpful explanations.
