I have a question what is the purpose of practicing in stance like that at 2:30 and about 2:40. I see a lot of karateka do it and maybe only see application of it if someone attacks you and you dont have time for a guard or does it build something else cuz at my dojo we never did it just wondering.
My friend, I do not know wich style you practice but all that staff is in Kyokushin Karate the "Kihon" or the basics. It does not mean that you have to fight that way, it is only the best way to learn a technique from the very begining and to strengthen the lower or upper body depending on the stance. In minute 2:30 is a block followed by a straight punch, "Enkei Iaku Tsuki". When you have learned all the basic staff, you can use it as you like, depending on your features. Osu!!!
@pastropmal sosai spoke to japanese branch chief(shibucho).'among all the fighting arts, karate is the strongest of all,and kyokushin is the no.1 strongest karate.!' that was sosai belief until he passed away.
The Kyokushin karateka are the true samurai, Sosai Oyama developed a way of overcoming physical and mental.
Karate have been create in okinawa wich was an island with alot of merchant exchanges at the time from china korea...and they had to keep a relative peace...but i am sure it has been used in figth but on the battlefield probable but not since the dawn of time and certainly not a samurai art.
ps: i dont mess with people who break 2x4 with their shin...masutatsu soke...BOW

@KYOKUSHINKAIURUGUAY Okay makes sense because all of our Kihon is done in gyaku te, back hand,
first to develop power.

Kata's is made to practice your accuracy,
as my sensei says: you hit 1 million times, then you know how to punch. Now, you hit another 1 million times, to hit for perfection.
