hmm, pretty cool stuff. But.. isn't that a lot of sensors that you use? What about accuracy attrition per sensor reduction? The post-proc was not in real time (plot reminds me of matlab), or was it? How about multiple moving objects, can you track both at once, even if path intersection occurs? Articles from this? Post that on the info section please. Good job!

Ahem, this looks much like my new invention - i call it "window"... the demo would be quite more impressive without this frigging GLASS-HOUSE he is walking in...
looks nice, but isn't it a bit complicated to set up a large network of radiotransmitters before you can actually locate the person inside the building... for rescue purposes a bit unrealistic: you'd either need to waste time to set up the network or you'd need to get too close to the building were e.g. hostages are held.
This is just a prototype of course it's going to be unrealistic to put out all of those transmitters. As technology advances they will get smaller and smaller so as that you can just throw them onto the property like if they were in orbs like golf balls or ping pong balls etc. Instead of just placing them one by one and risking hostages lives and their own.
radiowaves are the least energetic forms of electromagnetic radiation, they can't cause any sort of cancer or other danger to the human body. it's the same radiowaves that transmit FM and AM radio all over the world
You can broadcast (or use existing broadcast RF signals) to detect movement, I've experimented with this myself quite a bit, so I know what he is doing is very real! Much more accurate than my stuff, but very possible.
Anyone of you guys who doubt this should remember your "Analog TV & radio days", remember that when you walked past your ANTENNA...that you could see a change in your TV or Radio signal? That is the very same technology.
Good question. I assume they simply brought the mutt (:-) outside before firing up the radios. Høje Gladsaxe should realize that these radios report quality of signal. All Joey has to do is simple triangulation on the 3 radios that report the largest change in signal. Is absolutely plausible
We locked the dog in the kitchen area while we tracked. Small animals don't disturb the signal strength as much as a human, so they probably wouldn't show up much in the imaging. We'll have to look into that in more detail later.
There are ways to counteract body heat registers. This is another alternative, and obviously it's not in it's final form yet. I'm excited to see where this goes.
Not really- this uses radio which would actually penetrate the wall. Body heat wouldn't- the through-wall bodyheat scanners from Robocop et al wouldn't work in real life unless the walls were paper-thin and the subject was pretty much pressed against them.
the new world order will love this it will go great with the pre-crime laws

Could you track multiple levels like upstaires and down stares on the same kind of setup

I saw the Senior project presentation for this last year, very cool stuff. It will be an excellent system when it is further developed!

Oh and do your sensors know their positions relative to each other? Or is that something you input manually?

@ 2:25 Did anyone else think of Metal Gear Solid radar system? lol

Nah, I was thinking more along the lines of the heartbeat tracker in Rainbow Six.

Very cool - wouldn't be surprised if this turns up in an episode of 'Burn Notice'.

Yeah, this isn't a scam; it's completely legit. Great work!

No scam at all! This is all perfectly plausible.

that is not really real, he is only stepping on touch pads on the ground, this is also called scamming.

Awful lot of trouble to go thru when your body heat would have done this job with one device

Stealth paint, lead or thick concrete could counteract this.
