Yes, he is completely original man, even though I do not know him as good as you guys do, but listened to him last night and was simtten with his playing!
A true master. Just listen to hiw Bob paraphrases Charlie Parker in the first choruses, then... suddenly... switching to Coltrane of the early sixties spiced with a Phil Woodsy lick. He truly leaves most saxophonists of his generation light years behind.
Was this song written for the Boston drummer Bobby Ward? I'm good friends with Bobby Ward and I see him periodically. I played with him not too long ago. He's one of the greats.
Is Bob Mover playing a Brilhart Tonalin? If so, I didn't know that had that level of grits to them. Bob's really diggin deep. As always.

His sound is a bit reminiscent of Jackie Mclean.

I hate the alto sound :S Sounds as if a squeek is gonna pop up any time. It makes me cringe

Wow, Bob Mover! A friend of mine (Andy Devine) has a funny story about Mr. Mover. I wish I could remember it.
What a great band.

Hey, JazzVideoGuy, I've got a little favor to ask you...
Please post some George Garzone, another great,
high-caliber, underrated, Boston-based saxophone
player. Thanks! -- Soulnik in Harlem
