@MrToofuu no way dude, some remakes really are better than the originals. jimmi hendrix's "all along the watchtower" = better than Bob Dylan's original; Metallica's "Turn the Page" definitely better than Bob Seger's original; True Grit (2010) waaaayyyy better than the 1970s original. New Oregon Trail = better than original. In more ways than one. The original was a pain in the ass to play anyway. The graphics are beyond dated. And worst of all, it was nigh impossible to beat!

15 to 20 years ago!??? NO...no one was playing this game in school in 1996-2001. You might be thinking of some sequel. Try 37 years ago. It was first released in 1974 and then the Apple version was available in the early 80s. I played this in first grade in like 1981 to 1982.

Actually I take that back....just read the Wiki which said it wasn't uncommon to still see this game in elementary schools in the late 90s to 2000s. I never would have guessed it would still be played for that long. So you probably did play it 15-20 years ago...but it's been around a lot longer than that.
