@gus23a kill himself by drowning? Are you being funny? Never tried it but I think it's impossible. He didn't swim in the Pacific Ocean. It was just a small pool. :D
The poem at 2:58 was written by Jim Morrison of the Doors I believe, strange how he say's he doesn't want to die like Brian did and yet Brian died on JULY 3, 1969 aged 27 whilst Jim died on JULY 3, 1971 aged 27.
Jagger has stolen and plagerized other songs, so why should this be any different.
He has been sued on numerous occasions by people he has lifted songs from. Talk to Ry Cooder, (whom Richards and Jagger ripped off) and he has very unflattering things to say about them and also he witnessed the way they were treating Brian, when he recorded with them.
You Mick n' Keef fans act like the Stones are still relevant. They followed Brian's blueprint to the top. After they sacked him, they were carried by the great guitar of Mick Taylor. They forced him out by crediting themselves for songs he had a hand in writing. Just look at their output AFTER Jones and Taylor, when Mick n" Keef were truly in control . Sucking in the 70's, absofuckinlutely! And 80's, 90's etc.
really guys even though he started the band jagger and richards is where all the talent is. if im wrong explain the bands continued success after his death
@country123424 Probably because they won't go away. I don''t want to go to a r&r concert performed by men in their dotage. Brian was the rolling stones. After he died, they were not the same band and never could be.
@percy123100 Linda Keith, who dumped Keith Richards for Jimi Hendrix (whom she discovered in New York and gave him one of Keith's guitars) was not a groupie. She also became Brian Jones girlfriend. Keith and Brian wrote this as a swan song to her. She has for many years been married to British musician, John Porter, a session musician.
the stupid old fuzzy of keith said in his book that brian was n ass maybe true genious people are assholes specially with their coworkers but when you have friends like lennon and hendrix you are in another level keith was a big donut next to brian that s why he still hate him
Is that photo at 1:06 photo shopped??... cause i noticed brian was holding something with the "Logo lips" ...I thought the Logo came later after bran`s death
Oh yeah, the book Keef wrote. Keef slept with M. Faithful, then told her it was Mick who really loved her all the while plotting to steal Brian's girl, Anita. What a bandmate! Since Brian isn't around to defend himself ask Mick what he thinks about "Life".. Mick has said Keef is a bitter man who "stretches" the truth at times. As far as Brian being an asshole by nature there are plenty of friends of his who never saw that side of him. Maybe Brian was just being an asshole to the assholes. bla!
To all the people who are saying how wonderful Brian was... really didnt know him. According to Keith Richards book, he was actually kind of an asshole by nature. Go ahead and thumb me down and reply angrily to me bla bla bla.
Brian never got the recognition he deserved, did he? He should be revered all around the world just for being the founder of The Rolling Stones and yet some "fans" don't even know he existed.
Anyway, R.I.P. Brian Jones, you were a very talented guy and I hope you're having fun wherever you are.
Brian Jones is the original Rolling Stone... He just invented the concept to be a rock star.. I love you Brian, hope now you're good wherever you are...
Brian was the magical element in the Stones. Following his lead the band became huge to the point where they could rightfully claim to be on a par with the mighty Beatles. After he was replaced the Stones began to slide towards mediocrity. Bands like The Who and Led Zep began to steal their thunder. Mick Taylor was great but even he left feelling underappreciated. The Stones output after 1974 got stale. Refried Berry licks, lame disco and ill advised new wave. Mick and Keef should be ashamed.
BRIAN WAS A GENIUS, HE WAS WAY AHEAD OF HIS TIME. HE WAS THE 1ST TO EXPERIMENT WITH DRUGS,HE WAS THE 1ST TO EXPERIMENT WITH NEW INSTRUMENTS, HE EMBRACED NEW CULTURES.
I dont beleive he couldnt write. He could. He wrote a soundtrack and he started this off with Keith. Drugs can hamper some and inspire others. Eventually drugs strangle your creativity. Being in a band with two egomaniacs who were hellbent on control woukldnt have helped his insecurities. He was still young when he died and his best years were still ahead. He hadnt really done anything yet. As weird as that sounds...
what became of the golden stone that gentle soul who stood alone who could play but could not write and charm the darkness out of night when we look back and remember the man who did not wait forever Ruby Tuesday came and went never was the credit lent even though his body spent his spirt still stays with us yet for martyred or lost whatever the reason he will find his due in season here's to the founding stone raise a toast to Brian Jones!
I grew up listening to the Rolling Stones. They are still here!!! Only,i do not know about Brian Jones... as funny as it sounds. My neighbor friend was named Brian Jones... i always thought they were talking about him.

You branded your gifts of music and taste that is timeless.
What a tortured, messed up, intelligent, talented man! Suffered from depression...maybe bipolar? Drugs and alcohol don't mix with a fragile mental state....the stones were the best when he was with the band....
What a beautiful song. I believe that Keith wrote the lyrics and that Brian helped him write the music. Mick has admitted that he loves the song but that he had nothing to do with the writing of it. Brian also plays the piano and the recorder on it according to the credits on Forty Licks. Thanks for posting this.
This is great! Particulary love the Brian pic at 2.04! I love the stones but especially love them in the Brian Jones years! I think he had it all! They had more appeal back in his day! RIP Brian.
Lovely fitting tribute to Brian. I agree with ledzepellinzoso92 that the Rolling Stones with Brian was the best era. Music changed after he left though I do like some post Brian stuff. I'm amazed to see how many teenage fans he has, particularly from South America.
Jones was the one who started the 27 Club. Other best-known musicians who died at the same age are Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, and Kurt Cobain. Even more ironic, they all took too many drugs and had a problem with it.
We couldn't believe it! This was the biggest sorrow ever : at the time we thought we would live for ever, death was just not in our minds ! Once, in Ibiza, I watched the sunset and saw
his face in the sun - I was captured by some square rich peoples miles away from town- and.. fall fully dressed in a sweaming pool ! Strange !
I wonder if Brian was so arrogant as to not use birth control...or did these women want to get pregnant by the "big rock star"? Anyway, a brilliant musician.

Its a shame, but I think at that time there young age played a role in his alienation from the band. These where all immature kids back then. Dichas, you are so correct. Mick & Keith will never acknowlege Brian. That's why I really cant stand them. I believe it was a conspiracy to murder him & cover up his death because Brian still owned the rights to the stones name & clearly they wouldnt had been able to use the name if he was kicked out the band.
Happy Birthday Brian

sin duda, Brian era
el mejor de todos los Stones.
Ojalá estuviera vivo, realmente desearía haberlo conocido.

Dichas, you are so correct. Mick & Keith will never acknowlege Brian. That's why I really cant stand them. I believe it was a conspiracy to murder him & cover up his death because Brian still owned the rights to the stones name & clearly they wouldnt had been able to use the name if he was kicked out the band.

interesting theory i never heard that, but i certainly would entertain the notion. Was this theory ever pursued by anyone in Brian's camp?

Amazing....thank you. A tortured, but talented, soul with a passion. Like a rose, too fragile to last long. RIP, Brian.
