Beautiful man! I can't believe it - I was looking for sound example of the K & K because Thomas Leeb reccomended this pickup to me... I play Andy McKee stuff so this worked perfectly!

What do you think of this pickup? How much did it cost?

Thanx for the great comment. I love this pickup its the best on the market imo. I think I paid £300 for it that also included a Trinity Preamp which makes a big difference. youtube has compressed a lot .

Sounds like a good price for this great pickup - I may be purchasing it soon.

I don't know a lot about pickups though - I am trying to decide between the "Onboard Trinity System" and the "Western Trinity System" which I believe has the preamp. I currently have a fishman pickup thats built into the side of my guitar.. is this what "onboard" would be? If I replace it I would probably have to get another onboard.

I was actually looking for K&K sound samples, but was happily surprised when I found a great tune and beautiful guitar to go with it ;o) I have an x-fi sound card and Klipsh THX speakers hooked up and I can hear a lot more detail than an average pc listener, and I have to say I've listened to A LOT of clips of acoustics(I also own a Bourgeois om) and the K&K is the most unprocessed, best sounding systems I've heard besides good condenser mics. You have a fantastic set up, sound, and git ;o) GJ!

hey i noticed you mentioned you had a pure western! I looking into getting an internal mic to capture the percussion i perform on the guitar ie.Andy Mckee's Drifting. I was wondering if the pure western had a broad spectrum that would easily capture the percusive element?

Hello, yes the Pure Western mini is more than capable of doing what you ask. it comprises of three pickups that's it under the bridge of the guitar, and also a internal microphone. I tried lots of pickups before choosing this one but this is by far the best I've heard. Check out K&Ks Web site for more details.

Soundboard: Cedar,Back & Sides: Rosewood,Neck: Mahogany,Fretboard: Ebony,Bridge: Ebony,Binding: Curly Koa, Nut & Saddle: Tusq,Tuners: Gotoh 301.

I tried loads of guitars before deciding on the Saluda,Martins,Lowdens,Breedlo­ve. All great guitars but the Saluda had a little bit more of what i was looking for.

I got to go to Patricks work shops and talk to him direct. I also got to pick the woods i wanted from his selection.
