  • @DemonicDanii root 6 x root 6 = 6. You now have 6 x by one more root 6 to give 6 root 6

  • thanks, that made it clearer but i have revision guide and it has this questions inside.

    Simplify (1+square root 2) squared, i follow the steps you do in this video but i keep getting,

    3-2 square root 2, but according to my revision guide that is wrong could you explain to me how to do this question.

Seriously, so much electric and energy would be saved if every kid just watched your videos as they wouldnt have to be sitting there endlessly, looking at their teacher TRY and teach, on an interactive whiteboard and projector if availible at their school lol

  • Surds are used to simplify various answers.

    If you had a fraction such as 30/60 you would cancel it down to 1/2 because it is simpler.

    The same is for surds.

  • oh my gosh! this is a level stuff!?!? thanks for the video it did help slightly. our maths teacher is making us do this even tho we are in year 8 and he knows it's gcse a level stuff and i really cant think why he does it becauseit's not like we are going to get our end of unit year 8 tests and be asked how to simplify and add surds!!! what do we need surds for anyway in this world?
