  • who originally wrote it

  • Damn Bob Dylan or whoever owns the copyright.

  • In fact, youtube is ridiculous. Congratulations scoundrels!

  • have you guys heard page and coverdale version?

  • They both ripped it off of old blues singers anyway so your comparing 2 different covers so who gives a shit?

  • Anyone that says Zep sucks live, wasn't there !!! I was, they did and always will Rock.. And YES, I much prefer Led Zeps versions... Sorry Bob...

  • Comment removed

  • @kildare97 not really...ive heard many people said they sucked live...who saw them in concert, many times.

  • Gods don't compete, competition was created for mortals to feel like gods.

  • WTF?

  • Why would you not delete this video is the original sound is gone? Thank you for wasting my time.

  • Love bob, hes my favourite solo artist. But Zeppelins version is much better. Jimmy Page is lethal with that danelectro guitar, especially live. The maker of this video seems to be a bit of an asshole, but with a name like beatlemania67 im not surprised. Bet he thinks john lennon is god.

  • in my time of dyin or dying this vid sucked classical crap ????what is this???? :( very dissapointing

  • FUCK YOUTUBE! dude all I heard was classical all throughout that man....ulllgh...fuck you youtube...

  • Irony

  • blind willie johnson

  • @maze225 typical zeppelin bullshit. Way over the top. They do everything over the top..sucks.

  • too much classical music lol

  • 各有千秋

  • well ive known a bunch of people who said led zep sucked live...and Bob is the best SONGWRITER of all time sooooo

  • @lockpickergenius Nobody sucks as badly live as Bob, I've tried it three or four times now, the musics fucken amazing but my voice would be an improvement, I can only see the past when it comes to Bob, Zeppelin aint onto Zimmer's frame yet!!

  • @lockpickergenius Whoever said that is a fucking knobjocky.

    Zeppelin were awesome live

  • take this video down!!!! there isn't the proper accompanying audio

  • jimmy page put up a riif that he ivented ,

  • look up a version of this song by a band called 'Big Sugar'....THE BEST!

  • dylan's version is better by far zeppelin take the blues out of the song

  • the best is Jesus Make Up My Dying Bed.see my chanel

  • zeppelin any day they rip all over bob dylan in every facit

  • whats with the music

  • only fools comapare geniuses

  • What's this about? Dylan and Zep both copied a old gosple song by Blind Willie Johnson and are we arguing over Zep coping Dylan? I don't think Zep's version is influenced by Dylan at all. I will put my hat in the ring and vote Dylan's version. Zep's version is a little long and removes the blues entirely. I am told there is great meaning in the songs on physical graffiti (i.e. Kashmir) but I think it is just a bit of meaningless fun.

  • In what way does Zeppelin's version take the blues out of the song? If you think Physical Grafitti is meaningless fun, you'd be wrong.

  • @DonalLynchyou yes. Blind Wille Johnson recoded this song first. its a traditional gospel music

  • I don't think that there's an injustice here. Obviously Blind Willie Johnson's song inspired Bob Dylan, who's lyrics and music was inspiration for many artists such as Jimi Hendrix, Al Kooper. In fact Kooper's song "Bury my Body" shares a lyric almost verbatim with Dylan's song. The line starting "meet me jesus meet me" can be heard by Eric Burdon from their 1965 recording of Kooper's song. Zeppelin's version came out a decade later, but their music still had many ties to older blues songs.

  • ha ha ha

    your crazy boy

    good job

ps: i like dylans one more

  • that damn thing isn't mozart... but antonin dvorak, slavonic dance op. 46 no. 1 and dvorak was a genius;)

but admittedly i also expected bob dylan o.O

  • Respect for knowing that

  • why am I hearing classical music??

no Dylan no Zep just Mozart or some dam thing..

  • Yeah. Why?

  • i had no idea that in my time of dying was a Classicly composed song!!

    I FUCKING HATE COPYRIGHTS!

  • ...it's a blues song from the '10's or '20's I think.

  • Love Bobby D. but prefer Led Zeppelin.

  • Me Too!

  • Zeppelin? - great

    Dylan? - also great ...

Josh White? - a true master!

    But ...

No comparison, hands down the best and most emotional is Blind Willie Johnson's version.

It sends chills through my spine the way he sings:

"Jesus said to his disciples come and carry my mother home, then dyin' will be easy"

  • Led zeppelin

  • haha zeppelin all the way long live the mighty zeppelin!!!

  • zepplin because of bonhams sick drumming

  • zeppelin by so far

  • like them both,

but yeah, you can't beat Dylan

  • AHAHAAAAA, you do realize how many people vomit when they hear that harmonica going off right? You can't say you can't beat Dylan. He just wasn't that innovative or anything, he did have some great stuff though,.

  • bob

  • Art is not a competition. The idea that one version is "better" than the other one is ridiculous. I personally prefer the original Blind Willie version to either of the covers, but that's a matter of taste.

  • both very good but you cant beat dylan man

  • HAHAAH Led Zeppelin In My Time Of Dying #1

Respect to Bob Dylan, but Zeppelin is best!!!

Ma kakav Dylan ovo nema veze sa pesmom Led Zeppelin ROCK'S!!!!!!

  • I think you have to do both songs the justice of an entire playthrough to judge them. In doing so, it's pretty tough to pick between Dylan's weathered melancholy and Page's slide guitar sleaze.

I think the ethereal quality of the Zeppelin takes it - it mugs the gospel and takes the song to a strip joint. Fantastic!

  • Well, Zeppelin's the better band, and has the better version.

    So, Zeppelin it is.

  • Both are very good, but I think Dylan captured this song better. His voice really carries the emotion in this song to a degree that Plant, for all his technical ability, could never match.

Dylan, seeing as I HAVE to choose, what with this gun to my head and all.

  • Bob Dylan!!!!!!!!

  • I have an LP by a band called Fear Itself, the album Crawling Kingsnake, which featutres a cover of this tune.A nice and different interpretation on this tune, with credits to Dylan on the label.68-69 era.

  • i gotta give it up for the led zep

  • zeppelin all the way.

  • Zeppelin's, it's much more original and the musicianship of the 4 members just outclasses Dylan's version

  • Led Zeppelin i guess, I like the guitar playing

  • BOB DYLAN FOR"FUCKING"EVER !!!

  • Zepplin

There both good, but so different.

I just preffer Zep's sound. It's a lot more erie.

  • both are gr8 but you can't beat Dylan are krazy...dylans not only one of the best musicians to ever walk the face of this earth have you ever listen to the lyrics of his songs there just mind blowin...

  • zeppleins is better

  • both are awesome! totally different moods, but both are amazing. I couldn't pick one over the other.

  • you cannot compare them as they are totally different genres...and im led zep fan but definitely not a dylan one at that.

  • Probably my two favorite artists. I like both versions, both are legitimate classics, but the Zeppelin version with a serious sound system is just pure goosebump pleasure. In their enormous wake, countless rock bands floundered trying to capture that slow brooding intensity that Zep exuded on Physical Graffiti. There have been some good ones but nobody's even close to Led Zeppelin.

  • No one will ever top Zeppelin

  • Both version are incredible .. it's an incredible song and a Tribute to Johnson.

Sorry about the Jefferson comment (confused it with One Kind Favour .. please forgive. Ah gosh, now I won't go to Blues Heaven

  • Why no mention of Blind Lemon Jefferson anywhere??

  • BOB DYLAN!!!!! the zeppelin version is good, and brilliant at earls court - but let's face it, you need a true bluesman for a true blues song

  • led zep of course

  • Bob Dylan is a Commi Bastard, Led Zep may have also stolen from the Coloreds, but they loved America

  • bob dylan is a commi bastard?

    retard...

  • BOB DYLAN - Come on! Who else! You can just feel the soul in that man's voice.

    BUT Zepplin's version is good

  • LED ZEPPELIN! No voting needed. Zeppelin is A LOT better than Bob!! Zeppelin wins!

  • zep

  • Oh definitly Dylan!

  • Zep. Earls Court Show a legacy.

  • Bob, the Bluesman !!!!!!!

  • Bob Dylan

  • Robert Zimmerman!

  • Its got to be Dylan. his voice enters you, hits all the buttons if you let it. i dont know how he does it but it happens every time.

  • DYLAN All THE WAY!!

  • DYLAN

  • I like Dylan and Zeppelin, but Zeppelin's cover is one of my favorite covers of all time. Right up there with Dylan's cover of House of the Rising Sun.

  • THE BOTH ROCK!~ It's all in the way of the mood!~

  • Bobby Dylans was great. Led Zeppelins wasn't as good

  • I gotta give it to Zeppelin. but I like the harder edge of Zep.

  • Don't know how anyone can even compare ?

Its not a comparable thing , What is being compared ? how do you compare interpretations

  • Bob dylan. He was simply better, no matter how much I love Led Zeppelin also. Bob simply changed everything, as someone simply put it once. "Before Bob Dylan, singing was about how pretty a voice was. Now, it's about if that voice tells the truth.

  • that was sam cooke who said that

  • Bob Dylan won this one. No doubt.

  • Well L.Z modernized it and "rocked it out" but Bob Dylan played from the soul and heart and plays with true emotion

BOB DYLAN IS A WINNER TO ME

  • Zeppelin, no contest.

  • Dylan easy. Zeppelin like usual is way over the top.

  • Dylan's version is better...

  • Ugh....TIE! I CAN't Say!

  • Robert Plant didnt sing bad and Bob Dylan didnt sing bad. Plants voise beats Bob Dylans, this song was made by Dylan but Led Zeppelins verson is much better even Bob Dylan kickt some ass

  • this isnt a bob dylan song its a blind willie johnson song dylan just covered it first

  • Hands down. Led Zepplin. Dylan sang it a little better than Robert Plant, but Jimmy Page really made the guitar wailin sound like a mourning cry. Dylan was good, but Page is better.
