Of all the cat-back systems for the G8, I have to say Magnaflow's kit is the most disappointing. The build quality is there, but the sound is just a few notches better than stock. I can't see spending that kind of money for such a weak sounding system. I see the uploader has Corsa now. Probably a better kit.

My 98 Firebird has the limiter at 4k in park/neutral too. lol. But yours sounds better, mine bounces at 4k slower than yours. I know you don't have it and tuned it out now but sweet anyways.

Actually, GM is going out of business because they built sh*tty quality cars like your f-body for so long. If anything, the G8 would have SAVED them had it had more time, as it's the best quality and performing car they've had under the Pontiac label in a LONG time (yes, I know it's a Holden). You're aware that they stopped making the f-body due to lack of sales, right? You're also aware that a fully loaded 325hp SS coupe cost $29k ($33k for an '02)? By comparison, 7 YEARS LATER, a fully loaded 361hp G8 GT runs $32k, doing mid to high 13s (almost identical to the last f-bodies), hitting 13 flat, if not 12s with nothing more than a tune & CAI. And the f-bodies can't even TOUCH the G8 in fit, finish and quality of materials. Not even CLOSE. So what was that about overpriced again?

I cut the back mufflers off of my girls g8 gt and it sounds like magnaflow but more agressive and way cheaper $65.00. I notice at least 5 to 10 more horsepower. I ran it at the track with just a conical filter and 91 oct back in October and ran 13.8sec in the 1/4.

I don't think you have heard a stock G8 then. from behind, no matter how much you rev the car, the sound of the exhaust resembles almost nothing of a V8! thats what happens when there are 3 resonators and 2 HUGE mufflers. the other reason the cars are so quite stock is so you can't hear the drone of DOD/AFM when it kicks down to 4 cylinders.
