Foals only grow to the size of the womb for those of you who uneducated in equine. There Is a better hormone that makes the foal only grow to the size of the womb. And breeding different breeds of horses together creates a different breed.
@kweldner i have experience with dogs and know hat if you breed a large male with a small female the female could die from a ruptered uterus or the offspring will be stillborn or the female can die in birth. its generally not a good idea to breed a small female with a large male. i have never heard of any hormone that limits the size of the offspring.

She's more capable of carrying a foal that is bred to be larger than herself. It's been done before, and is done all over the world. However I must agree, she is a bit to small for this, and I would advise (if the mare is still living after this >:( ) to get a bigger mare next time.

Not to make anyone mad here, but that mare is pretty small considering the stallion's size. But she's a pony, not a horse, there for she's built with a more sturdy body. She's more capable of carrying a foal that is bred to be larger than herself. It's been done before, and is done all over the world. However I must agree, she is a bit to small for this, and I would advise (if the mare is still living after this >:( ) to get a bigger mare next time.

you guys should read up your knowledge before jumping to conclusions if you actually talk to an equine vet they will tell you that unlike dogs and cows the size of a foal at birth does not grow too big for the mare. That is not to say that a mare cant get distressed or need help in birth but the size of the stallion has nothing to do with it. Horses breed naturally in the wild the mare wouldnt of stood for him if she was unhappy.
