Hey this movie had some tedious moments, mainly the races, but it was not a bad movie! I enjoyed it and reminded me of the good ol Speed Racer cartoon days.

Also I researched that term, and if "Cool Beans" becomes a term more common than it is today, we got this movie to thank. :D The term originated about a century ago as more of a statement in Boston to describe the baked beans have cooled down. It became a bit more common in the 80s for a Bush's Baked Beans ad, when the talking dog described the baked beans as - you guessed it - "cool beans."

So far so good,The old Guyver movies,this movie and Astro Boy were the only successful anime turned-based movies over the past few years.They kept true to their stories,aswell as the characters too.Dragonball Evolution in the other hand...it was crap.They could have gotten a better director that knows about the anime well and kept it like it was like the original story.But I wonder if hollywood is going to make other successful anime turned-based movies like the ones I mentioned...

They should have left speed racer where it belongs.... IN THE PAST! Why did they have to do and rip off F-Zero. And secondly, If good old speedy has tires that will re-inflate, who is to say that those emergency tires will not experience a puncture at the same time that the original tires do? THINK ABOUT IT! If you have 2 pieces of paper stacked on top of each other and you run a knife through them BOTH pages will get sliced. The same should be said for this jerks tires.

If you haven't seen it in a theater, watch it on a good HD tv - the colours will blow you away! I loved how it goes from extremely violent to totally cheesy in a split second (milk instead of champagne when he wins!) and beneath all the loud action, it is a very warm-spirited, positive movie. I agree with others here who say it didn't get the massive succes it deserved. I enjoyed it much more than Transformers, for example.

I saw the movie already. My advice is this. DO NOT EXPECT TOO MUCH. The visuals are a little over the top I feel. And you see all the colorful visuals in the trailer, you ain't seen nothing yet! EVERYTHING IS COLORFUL!!! Some may like it, but Speed Racer is just not my cup of tea. I might learn to like it one day though.
