  • hey bro will u tell me if i will be able to share internet connection btw my desktop and laptop using bluetooth PAN

  • This doesn't work for me.

  • Thank you!!!! I'm an XP whore who hates windows 7 and this made it easy as pie. Friggin awesome!

  • @ChadHelton1971 Hateing windows 7..... That's unhealthy

  • @fliperflopis Hiding the exact same dialog box 2 layers further down requiring you to search for everything in the start menu is not my idea of good design. Neither is changing everything so that users who don't know what a shift key does. ("Capslock is how you make capital letters, right?") have to re-learn everything they know. "Where's the start button??!?" "Where's my window at the bottom?" Not a good design.

  • Hi I have a laptop, & also a pc with wireless adaptor & both are connected to my wireless internet from Virgin. I have installed a software on the PC & i want to create a network so my PC & my laptop can share files, as i have instaled the 2nd lisence of softwre on my laptop. PC is acting as the server for the software so i can only use the laptop software (2nd license) when it is joined to network (with PC).Tried 2 create Ad Hoc netwrk wih PC & laptp bt thy dont connect to internet? Please help

  • hey how you get sharing tab???

  • wait how you use a computer internet to a laptop

  • what if you dont have a sharing tab help me please

  • omg i love you!!!!!!! You have fixed a problem i have been having for weeks!!!! yes!!!!!

  • Using your example, I'm trying to block laptop from going anywhere on the internet on tcp:25 with win 7's builtin firewall....and it aint workin...i can't seem to block any outbound traffic

  • I found this link while searching for extremely advanced Win7 ICS/firewall interoperability information which wasn't in your video...you mentioned needing to poke holes in "a or the" firewall and since there are only 2 puters (nat and laptop) in your example I think you had to have been talking about the box thats natting. If true, it indicates that laptop was being blocked from going out on the internet through nats firewall...and thats EXACTLY what im trying to do....

  • wheres shorcut properties?????

  • @technoblogical actually ive been using a standard ethernet cable for ages. The steps are exactly the same to follow as this one with a crossover cable, you just have to make sure that both connections have obtain IPv6 and IPv4 address automatically in Properties

  • thank you, this helps at lan party, i can turn my computer to wireless

  • Thank you.

  • thankyou, that really helped

  • pls help it dont show to me the sharing

  • how come i dont have the sharing :(

  • Why would u want the internet on the wireless side? Isn't the source of the internet coming from, in most cases, your DSL provider...hence it would connect to the ethernet side from your DSL modem. The NIC that you labeled wireless, does that connect to your wireless router?

  • Idk what i did but thanks. You helped me bridge a connection for my 360

  • I want to connect a wireless router through my second ethernet port, will this work?

  • what do i do if my wireless network dosent have the Sharing Tab?

  • how to limit bandwidth to other computer? because my brother keeps downloading using torrents.

  • thanks so much, my wifi was so slow it was starting to really piss me off.

  • would this work for the ps3 if i try it ?

  • what about a router dude conecting from modem transmiting wireless to 5 pc in a share room

  • omfg thank u soo much, really did help me

  • hi im trying to do what u told me and when i check the first box it says something like the server failed to start or something can u help me and get back to me ASAP (in the windows sharing at 2:37

  • My computer tells me that the LAN connection already has been configured with the ip address required for automatic ip addressing... help? :/

  • i really need help man you seem to kno what your doing so if you can make a vid or eplain how i can do this but i use wireless N usb dongle for my pc and then it has one Ethernet port no wireless card... and i want to share the internet to ps3 due to ps3 only runing on wireless g signal how can i do this??? --i have win 7

  • wht s mining ics

  • what differences does a router make?

  • @dcoollx To answer your question: "A lot" As a side note, this turns your computer into a simple router. Now if you asking what a router does, then that's a lot more information that YouTube will allow.

  • I've been messing with this feature all night and your youtube got it working for me in five minutes. Thanks. :)

  • Right now I connect my xbox to the internet by just bridging the two cards. What's the difference doing it this way?

  • @Necromas Not much

  • you're on a virtual machine aren't you?

    jaja LOL

  • um, ipconfig /release and ipconfig /renew work in 7 just as well as they did in XP.

  • fucking swell. the ms website is a little unclear and no pictures but this video helped me get internet from my laptop onto my old xp tablet via ethernet! no crossover needed for me.

    thanks for the vid

  • for me it does have those fix IPs, but the problem diagnose does not fix the connection issue as yours did

  • THANK YOU VERY MUCH IVE BEEN LUKIN FOR VIDEOS LIKE THIS TO HELP .NOW I FINALLY FOUND IT. NOW I CAN PLAY ON XBOXLIVE. LOL. THANK YOU AGAIN. YOU SHOULD MAKE MORE VIDEOS LIKE THIS, THANK YOU AGAIN

  • Lol, I made my own cross over cable just to do this:D

  • can i use a wireless connection to connect the other computers?

  • @HardRockSpeedDemon94 Yes, but you can't connect the two computers directly with a regular Ethernet cable, You need a switch/hub/crossover cable between the two computers.

  • hey plz sm1 tel me if my ISP can tel dat i m sharing the connection coz my ISP refrains from using it...

  • @thoratsam No ISP wants you to do this. No ISP really wants you to have a wireless router. you are paying them for one connection. Their logic is that means you only get to connect one computer. The way that they would find out is through the amount of traffic going through your system.

  • @technoblogical i turned internet by go to status then deactivade or something

how do i turn it on?

  • I was wondering if there are any security issues that we need to be aware of?

  • @RatedAbstract ICS weakens your firewall to computers on the internal network. If you do not trust these computers with which you share you internet connection, then you should not do this. Lowering your firewall to them will leave you exposed to them and might make you vulnerable to their attacks. Great question!

  • @technoblogical Thanks for answering & doing this great video.

  • I am having this problem "Local Area Connection does'not have a valid IP configuration - Not Fixed ...

The Default Gateway in not available ...!!>

  • i m getting a network cable unplugged error...plz help sm1 or it is gonna b a waste of al da harddware...

  • I have connect my pc's.....but when i like to play online games.......we cant connect to the same server why is that???? and how i can fix it???

  • Perfect i was able to tether internet from my win7 to my linux machine

  • my issue is im trying to share the internet from my laptop to my dekstop, my laptop is connected wirelessly to my router

  • @unimatrix82 Should work just fine. I've done that many times. You just need to run a crossover cable (or a switch) between your laptop and desktop. Also if you are using a firewall besides the Windows firewall, you need to open whatever ports the desktop needs.

  • mine doesnt have sharing :((((

  • @ps3gamerful I've never seen it missing before. Do you have two network cards? Just to be safe, I'd open "cmd" by right clicking on it and running as administrator. Then you could try the command "sfc.exe /scannow" You have to run the command prompt as administrator, because that command will try to repair any corrupt system files.

  • Oh my God Chris Henry is dead!? I didn't know!

  • So, I've been trying to complete this method for the longest time, and it still hasn't worked. You're info was right on the money, but I compared my details to yours and I have a few questions. Is the LAN's DHCP supposed to always go to static? And I was gonna ask my other question, but everything literally just started working as I typed this lol. Thanks for the help!

  • I have been looking all over for a solution to this problem, and this video fixed it. Thanks for the upload.

  • thATS WAY TO CONFUSING MAN.. CAN YOU DO A STEP BY STEP VIDEO MAYBE BE MORE HELPFUL

  • what if i got a emachine what do i do?

  • @12352600 An Emachine should be fine as long as it has two network cards.

  • @12352600 i have an emachine and im doing the same thing but all the way around .. i feed my iphone an ipod and a laptop using ics wireless its awsome

  • I have dsl router which has only one LAN port .. I want to share connection with my friend...any idea or suggestion....

  • thanks, it's really help

  • Will not come up in search in new win7 :(

  • @PenultimateRun A router would be a better situation. I only use this in a temporary situation. Such as if I am traveling and actually have to pay for internet, then my friend and I can get on and split the cost.

  • @technoblogical no each wifi enabled computer has its own router and adaptor,, u just need a 3rd party software likewise connectify, and make ur place a hotspot wifi area,, thats what i did..

  • i cant click both boxes any help on that

  • @EnjoiLoveMyLife I have no idea. Usually when you select the top one, you get to select the bottom one.

  • @technoblogical how about windows XP!?

  • i have a ps3 wired and a laptop wired but when laptop is on ps3 lags, and all my settings are correct DMZ ect

  • how do i get my ps3 to get my ip i put my network and sharing to default and my network and sharing is all messed up now plz help

  • have you used a toshiba satellite-2230 laptop before? did it have windows 98? .....mine does. but i want to zap all the 98 stuff and replace it with my 2000XP thats on my acer-aspire machine. i know it will be slow, but how slow? and can i just use a USB connection from modem? or do i need the router and ethernet cord?

  • could you attach a switch to the second network card?

  • @TeggyEgg Yes, you can. I say wireless as an example in the video, but it works much better with a wired connection. At least on XP and 2000 it does. I've never really used this on Vista or 7. I haven't had a reason to do so yet.

  • ethernet works too...

  • Any LAN (Local Area Network) connections through the crossover are going to be 100/Mbps between computers, some newer network cards can achieve up to 1000/Mbps(1Gbps). But your internet will only go as fast as the ISP provides, which is usually not more than 10/Mbs.

  • Comment removed

  • y wouldnt u just use Connectify.me

  • @technoblogical - how did you get 1.0 gbps!!!!!!!!

  • @mRNA43 he have a 1Gbps connection between the computers, not to the internet.

  • @Ankstek013 - but how he have 1 gbps through the computers!!!!!! i know he didn't connect wirelessly to the computers because wifi will only allow you to receive 11mbps!!!!!! idk but it might be through the crossover ethernet cable bridging through these computers through each other, right!!!!!!!!! idk, explain!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @mRNA43 I don't know how old your WiFi card is but newest standards allow for speeds up to 300 Mbps (802.11n). The Ethernet cards go up to 1 Gbps.

  • @Ankstek013 you would be very lucky if you can actually achieve those wireless speeds. conditions in order to achieve 300 mbps must be IDEAL.

  • @bartmatusiak I know, but its the theoretical maximum speed of draft-n.

  • @mRNA43 He's freaking using a virtual pc for god sakes, can't you see that? If he sends a file to it, it just like sending file to his own...

  • @AM33Rtriplex Yeah, same with my shit too...

  • thanks man!!

  • thanks
